Score from 3 reviews Wonderful
A short distance from the wall by taxi, the hotel is situated in the centre of Brampton, a pleasant, small market town. A good breakfast was supplied and the pub itself had a lot of character.
Great breakfast good value for money comfy bed clean towels and bed linnen
The bedroom carpet needed cleaning the hall landing stairs needed a repaint
The staff were lovely and couldn't have been more helpful. Great shower and solid pub foid
The choice of real ales. Felt like home, lovely staff.
Leaving to go home !!
Food was very good and well presented. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Staff were polite and very helpful.
Staff attention to detail and helpfulness, always willing to help and go that extra mile to ensure the guest has an enjoyable stay
Comfortable bed Good shower
Hard to get bedside light on (inconvenient position of switch) Small TV screen
The room was a decent size and the bed was comfortable.
The staff were not that helpful. There was limited parking at the rear of the hotel. They gave you the remote control at check in. The TV had poor reception with a constant background buzz. T decoration was old, dated and tired The quality of the food was poor in the evening. breakfast was not much better
The room was very comfortable with a 4 poster bed.The food was excellent.
Excellent staff who gave us a warm welcome and the food was delicious.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, I always felt welcomed and looked after. The location was also fantastic, being right in the centre of the village there were lots of local amenities right on the doorstep, and even a regular bus that runs to Carlisle or Newcastle.
Because of the central location, at times outside noise could be a problem because the windows are not double glazed.
staff were helpful, room comfortable and clean shower excellent and plenty of hot water.best breakfast i ve had in ages. all round very good.
evening meals disappointing,4 pieces of meat in the pie, veg cold. gammon nothing special basic plate.stop eating there after too nights.shame as breakfast was spot on1
Young bar staff - professional and helpful
Settling for a nap and discovering that the bed smelled of stale urine. Pulling back the bed covers to find a large urine stain on the mattress Being moved to an inferior room with no natural ventilation (only a small non-opening window overlooking a fire escape) in the bed room - only ventilation coming from a small window in the ensuite along the corridor. Not being able to sleep on a bed in which the springs had "gone". Not having my politeness reciprocated by the management (my desire to avoid creating a scene in a busy bar was taken as a sign that I was "happy" with my room), and being threatened with the the police when I said that I was not prepared to pay the full price for this room. The manager's bullying approach to a lone female (husband and sons had gone to load car) and his refusal to listen and have a reasonable discussion - refused to accept that cleanliness and comfort are very basic requirements for a room costing £80. Being repeatedly told that this "is just a coaching inn - what do you expect?" - for £80, a clean (unpleasant stains on lampshade, chairs and on the base of the divan in my sons' twin room - no valance so brown stains in full view), comfortable room! Yet all room signs describe the rooms as "executive". Would have happily paid £80 if the rooms (original and replacement) had been clean and comfortable - i.e. able to sleep. Stayed in 6 other hotels this week on our walking holiday, and this was by far the worst - and also one of the most expensive. Very poor customer service, the worst I have ever encountered in hundreds of hotel stays -
central location welcoming staff clean in all areas well furnished reasonably priced and tasty evening meals excellent cooked breakfast
3 flights of stairs with heavy cases
It is a bit dated, although it fits the town!
A nice country pub with helpful, friendly staff. Breakfast was excellent and freshly cooked to order and evening meals were just as good. The room we had was a good size and nicely decorated. Would recommend.
Nothing everything was fine.
there is a lockdown at night when guests can not get in or out i nearly ended up on the street for the night with all our stuff including car keys inside i find this totally unacceptable
staff were very helpful and friendly the food was lovely would stay again
that they didn,t have a card machine for payment you had to write down your bank detail on paper
nice food , good public bar ,
safety of the car parking,
Location. Staff tried hard
Asking to write down credit card details
Stayed here for two nights first night we were entertained by a good pianist. Second night a rock band right below our room ! They were good and we slept well ! Food great , great location really enjoyed it
Limited parking to rear of hotel, disc display parking at front
Great location for where we needed to stay.
It was in the centre of the town and although parking facilities of the hotel were poor, parking in the square outside was fine. Looked a warm place , but not very busy on the night of our stay.
Had a nice big room, but ensuite was rather small. Otherwise clean presentable small hotel
Easy parking, good location for travelling to sites, dining facilities spacious and good menu. Room comfortable, bar staff excellent, everyone helpful.
Signage in room indicating hotel locked and alarmed till 0700 would be appreciated for people doing early departures.
