Location, food, service and value for money.
We had a fantastic long weekend at this hotel. The staff were always polite and smiling, and always on hand to help if necessary. The hotel is outside of Canterbury, surrounded by fields so it's quiet and relaxing. The breakfast was included in our stay, and it was one of the best we'd ever had! Freshly made cooked breakfast every morning, a great way to start our day. We would definitely come back here again.
The hotel is in a rural area, and it was a bit tricky to find it at night!
The friendliness of the staff.
Poor lighting in the bedroom. Bed not too comfortable. Difficult to do work at the desk with the current lights.
From check in to check out your staff are so professional. Room was warm and the beds so comfortable and very clean. Will return when we come back to Kent.
Service Spacious room Country house hotel Reasonably priced bar menu - tasty food Excellent value for money
Some signs of general wear around the hotel
Extremely friendly, helpful check in staff. When my room (4) was cold because the heating wasn't working, I was quickly given another room (15) where the heater was also not working. However, I was given a portable heater and had a great night's sleep. Breakfast is superb, with smart, polite staff.
Would stay again(and will). Will recommend to friends and family. Staff excellent food excellent thanks
Helpfull and friendly staff who were willing to talk and offer advice.
The staff could not have been more helpful or pleasant from arrival to booking out. Nice quaint and quiet building with a genuine sense of charm. Although it feels off the beaten track (which adds to its charm) it's actually very easy to get too and near all the main artery roads. I was staying en route to the Channel Tunnel and will definitely stay here again. It was excellent value for money and the dinner and breakfast were both outstanding. Also, great tea and coffee facilities in room.
The plumbing is old - there's no getting away from it, BUT this is reflected in the price.I actually like the big old bath and sink but the loo could do with being upgraded.
I had a very enjoyable visit and would stay again
The slightly flooded carpark
Historic building (in the old part) Room No 1 very good size, loved the door. Bar menu was good and reasonably priced. Breakfast was the best We have ever had in a hotel, cooked to order and local produce.
Have to say that the drinks were a bit pricey.
Lovely food freshly cooked, really well presented, tasty and served by delightful staff. The staff were excellent.
Nothing to say it was a lovely stay. Would come back again.
Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Parking. Not too far from city center.
Shower temperature ran hot or cold.
Friendly staff Character of the building Lovely evening meal
Quirky hotel with beams and fireplace in room. Low door to room and creaking floorboards added to ambience. Very friendly staff and excellent food. Ample free parking and only a few minutes by car to Canterbury. Room very quiet and nice view. Very good value for money will definitely stay again.
Bathroom cold and floor remained wet. Windows mouldy due to age of building.
The food in a restaurant was excellent, and the staff in a restaurant as well.
Rooms a very small, untidy and everything is almost falling apart
A great hotel, beautiful rooms with highly-comforable beds and a very good bathroom. The restaurant and pub are beautiful and of high quality as well.
There are no imperfections in my opinion!
Great breakfast.....highly recommend the smoked haddock and eggs! Good location to explore Canterbury and surrounding villages. Cosy hotel with small bar and lounge with open fire. Would definitely stay here again.
Peaceful character property close to Canterbury staff very attentive food excellent free parking
Pillows too few and too hard could do with upgrade of ensuite facilities
Every thing Great
we were unable to have a 3 course meal as of the time i booked the room but we will go back to try.
Staff very friendly, helpful and professional. Very comfortable and near Canterbury for meetings next day.
The only criticism would be the en suite was rather small..very little room but I survived for two nights. The staff and general comfort made up for it.
the scenery, the conventional character and modern dancing hall
WiFi was FOC and signal was excellent throughout the hotel. On the whole, the food was very good, especially the English breakfast. Staff very helpful. Will definitely try and stay here again!!
First time but surely not the last... very pleasant and calm manoir. Excellent restaurant. Ideal for a short stay... avoid if you look for modern style :)
Bathroom facilities a bit noisy
