Veg a bit softer
Lovely old building. Room 1 had nice views of grounds. Peaceful during the week.
The food was good, the rooms were good. The grounds were good
The shower did not work at all a dribble from the head does not equal a shower.
Friendly staff, good parking, lovely gardens. Big spacious room, all amenities including big tv and wifi. Lovely restaurant with good food, well presented. Knowlegable waiting staff.
Food cooking smells, hot weather may be to blame as doors were opened. I have no problem with some aromas in the dining areas but I didn't like the smell of food in reception. Only noticeable in the evening, no problem in the morning.
staff attentive, food excellent, a relaxing stay in a hotel full of character
Staff, setting, restaurant
Close to busy road so some noise but in room could not really hear it.
Noisy . TV didn't work. Wifi didn't work in room. Staff unhelpful. Breakfast not enough choice. Room too hot.
Attention to detail - namely Previous users jars of shampoo in Bathroom One bath sheet provided not 2 Limited menu At check out our and other bills were wrong and needed changing
Excellent staff and good meals
At times not enough staff to cope with guests requiring service
Very friendly staff who arranged table for 10 of us.Excellent food the family really enjoyed my birthday get together.Hope to come back.
Location: Very close to Canterbury on the route to P&Ride, yet still in the country. Room: Comfortable, clean, and of reasonable size. Breakfast: a good choice and well-cooked, and al-fresco dining in the summer! Evening meal: very good food. Parking: free. Staff: Friendly, helpful and efficient.
Noise: Our room was on the road side, where the marquee was situated. Overnight preparations disturbed our sleep as the weather was warm and the window open. Restaurant: beware of the ramp that covers only the central part of the steps between the two rooms. Going off the side could cause a fall for the unwary.
Staff were very helpful, especially Charlotte. Food quality and value were excellent both for breakfast and dinners.
Room 9 was a bit noisy - next to the boiler room? Sounds of running water late evening and morning.
We stayed for one night on the way to france and had a very enjoyable stay with nothing too much trouble for the staff as my partner was suffering from a chest infection and they helped me locate a chemist and were most concerned. The meal in the evening was good but the breakfast marvelous one of the best we have had and being a coeliac they even had bread.
We had a fantastic time and would highly recommend it is such a shame that some people find such minor things to moan about. It is a beautiful old building in the country and people moan about spiders so silly but the staff dealt with the situation so well we will definitely be coming back thank you everyone for a fantastic time
Fantastic staff Excellent food Lovely atmosphere Wonderful location Thank you
A chef who knows how to cook a rare steak third night and last night got a rare steak but had to order a very rare steak to get a rare steak. However the food is fantastic
The staff were extremely helpful and nice, the room was lovely and the grounds and hotel excellent! Loved our stay and will definitely come again
Location, parking space, overall quality and cleanliness
The fumes from the kitchen are not properly evacuated and entered our open window (room 14) straight away. This really puts us off. Too bad for an otherwise excellent hotel.
Caring and helpful staff. Excellent food. All in all a very pleasant three night stay.
A small table lamp would have been helpful on the desk area and a hook behind the bathroom door. BUT neither of these things would deter us from visiting Howfield Manor Hotel again!
the welcome friendliness of Staff breakfast
Location and excellent staff attention
We thought the Dinner Menu needs a few more items to choose from, like Fillet and Ribeye steak as we found the Sirlon steak a bit chewy side !!
everything especially the staff
nothing not to like
Restaurant last orders were at 8.30pm
