Hotel in good location near cantebury. Staff all superb, very friendly and helpful. Room good size, breakfasts very good. We both thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be returning again. Great value too!

Hotel could do with some updating as a little tired/old fashioned in some respects, but that in no way detracts from how much we enjoyed staying

Lovely setting, easy parking, the restaurant is beautiful and the evening meal we had was excellent.

Being woken up at 5am by hordes of people using the hotel for a business breakfast meeting although we were given a discount for the inconvenience, the water never really got hot despite pointing out there was a problem, hard pillows.

They did their best but understaffed when visited, would hate to think what it was like if a wedding had been booked. One waiter was a new starter lovely chap but still learning the ropes with little assistance "in at the deep end".

Lovely quaint hotel with very friendly and welcoming staff . Great location to visit Canterbury . Bedrooms very comfortable with all requirements (iron, trouser press, tea/coffee etc). Excellent breakfast . Thoroughly recommended .

The staff were fantastic but there really wasn't enough of them.

The bar area was very uninviting. Drinks were not made there but somewhere away from the bar. The lighting was glaring, the seating plastic. Did not like the lack of staff. The staff that were there worked very hard and were very pleasant and the management was conspicuous by their absence..

The room was very comfortable and the staff were excellent especially Eduard.

no colour maps/tourist info on Canterbury at reception. Bit of confusion over meals ordered and what arrived. I think they just need to tighten up procedures a bit.

The building has a lot of character. The staff are friendly and helpful. The location is beautiful. The rooms are large and comfortable. Breakfast was great!

Room decor could be updated

The staff went out of their way to be helpful. We had a lovely room with a dual aspect overlooking the lawns and a distant lake.

It was extremely cold weather and despite the efforts of the staff the room never seemed to be warm. This hotel must at one time have been set in a beautiful location but the planners chose to surround it with an industrial estate. However, you were not aware of this once inside the grounds as it was peaceful and quiet.

- Booked at the last minute so good a really good deal on the hotel! - I have to specifically commend the staff at the hotel (esp a lady named Sonata (sp??)) - all incredibly helpful and friendly! - The location is ok - opposite to a car showroom (or something of that sort), but once you enter the grounds, you feel like you are in another world! Quite idyllic!

Not a real complaint per se, but it did have a slightly "old house" feel - some like that, some don't!

The friendliness of the staff - it was exceptional. The bed was very comfortable as were the chairs. Breakfast and dinner service was efficient helpful and very prompt

great overnight stop before getting train from Ashford to go to the French Alps for skiing.

Told room was usually single occupancy but the only room left.....very small. Even though we booked two nights and in advance so we felt we had no choice but to stay.Shower tray dirty with several long dark hairs in the tray. Informed staff and was told that a message was left for the manager and we would get a reduction......no reduction when paying the bill. Ivy growing into the room under the windowsill.
