Delicious Breakfast Lovely big room and bathroom Warm welcome and friendly owner Beautiful countryside
Very large room, with more than enough facilities. The lady was very friendly and helpfull
Everything was alright but a bit of modernisation would be good for the future.
Lovely old building with loads of character. Friendly staff, huge room and a very pleasant experience. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others. Also, great value for money. Paul Costello, Leeds
Great room, and bed was very comfortable. breakfast was excellent. I would recommend Howton Grove House as a great place to stay.
We liked the room, bed, bathroom and atmosphere. Our host was very attentive and helpful.
Bedroom and bed plus a good breakfast
Looked a bit uncared for outside and in the gardens
Large size of the room Lovely, characterful house Very welcoming owners
Lovely building, comfy beds, very welcoming host with good communication before hand. Not too stuffy, felt like you were staying at a friends house.
Cant open the windows in the family room, broken or stuck, was very hot in the middle of the night with 4 people all sharing.
Location to Hereford.Welcome. Towels and bedding very clean.
General poor rundown condition of property both inside and out.
Large room V. good value evening meal
Very welcoming owner; tea offered on arrival. As the house wasn't full, I was offered an 'upgrade' to a huge room with equally large en suite bathroom. Almost didn't know what to do with the space! Everything very clean and comfortable and friendly. Obviously a family home but I didn't feel I was intruding. The house itself must date back a few centuries, and so, thank goodness, it had character which is missing from many a hotel chain. A lovely proper cooked breakfast followed a comfortable night's sleep. Mulling it over the following day, I realised I moved on too quickly and should have stayed another night, or even two. There's a lot to see in the area and Howton Grove would have made a good base. For some reason, I felt the place would have been complete with an old friendly dog wandering around, but that's just me.
A very minor cavil; the wi-fi was a bit slow, but then isn't everybody's when more than one person wants to use it, and I've been in hotels where you have to go to reception to use it. Maybe a sign making it clear it's a guest house. I drove into the entrance and thought, 'No, this is someone's private home' before returning to Hereford (and a mobile signal) to interrogate my 'phone to find I was in the right place after all.
- lovely bed - slept like in the clouds - nice breakfast - friendly owner - WiFi worked fine - nice big bath
- it would be nice if the curtains were proper blackout - it was quite bright in the morning
friendly and welcoming staff, provided tea and biscuits on arrival, were accommodating of our request for an early breakfast and sorted everything out that we requested.
What an amazing experience. The owners were a delight and we we're truly treated like treasured guests.
Excellent vegetarian evening meal for very reasonable price.
huge palatial bedroom and bathroom, very comfy bed.
owner rather unfriendly, we felt not wanted, no smiles! breakfast served in silence, not even a `good morning, breakfast ok..but we paid hotel prices. Moved down road for second night, paid half, got better breakfast and friendly welcome!

Feeble water pressure in shower. Not a fan of carpet in bathroom. Stained and didn't look clean.

needs some updating bathroom and carpets
Rooms (bedroom/bathroom) were very spacious. Breakfast was excellent.
The lack of dining places close to the property maybe a drawback to some.

It was all done to a good standard and was happy to be there :)
