A very beautiful family hostel with small but tidy room and a very kind host. The location is very convient to go to the white cliffs. The breakfast is delicious with a reasonable price. In a word, it is worth to be considered when travelling to Dover! Toilet flushing doesn't work the next day in the morning.

When an overnight stay is required in Dover (only 1km from port check in) a great place to stay to support travelling to Europe. A very clean and traditional English b&B. Takes pets which is fantastic.

The location was perfect. I came over to Dover from Calais, and wanted a small hotel (at a good price) close to Dover Castle and the walks on the White Cliffs. Hubert House and the proprietor far exceeded expectations - Thank You! There was nothing I didn't like.

The location at the bottom of Dover castle, within the town, walking distance to shops and restaurants is fantastic. The free parking is a bonus. The host.

The breakfast was good. The small double bedroom with ensuite was not just small, but extremely small. The bed just fitted in the room and there was hardly space for the luggage. The ensuite bathroom was the tiny and I did not know that such small shower cubicles existed. Therefore, I believe that the rate of 60 pounds we paid was excessive in comparison to room rates in the area of Dover. Also, the landlord was at times quite rude and at other times polite. The landlord could have had his training from Basil of Fawlty Towers.

This establishment had the feel of a Bed and Breakfast without the costly price. I was extremely happy with the location, just a few minutes walk from Dover Castle and the shopping district of Dover. The House had its own parking lot next to it, and a public parking lot is just around the corner is more space is necessary. The location, price, and friendliness of the staff are the Hubert House's best selling points; but the excellent traditional English breakfast certainly helps and is highly recommended. Because of the small size of the dinning area, you have to book your breakfast time the night before, this can be awkward for the staff and guests, when the guests are used to just walking down for a meal and have to be turned away. However, I highly recommend you book the breakfast and enjoy a traditional meal prepared personally for you.

Hubert House is a free standing, lovely old house owned and run by a father and his son. Very helpful on arrival, especially taking our cases up a few flights of stairs. Large bright bedroom with a small balcony overlooking a square. Breakfast was excellent . Only a short walk up a steep hill to Dover Castle. Also down into town and onto the beach and Marina, where you can go on a harbour trip. About a 5 minute taxi ride to the cruise terminals. The ensuite and shower is very small.

Really good position, just few meters away from the castle and the city center, albeit the city of Dover doesn't offer any attraction. Clean and comfortable. Very good breakfast. The Owner is peculiar and sometimes treated us with too rush. The bathroom really really uncomfortable due to the small dimension.

Conveniently close to ferry ports + privat car park. Since I had to leave very early, I actually didn't wanted or needed breakfast. A room-only tariff was unfortunately not possible. Instead I got some cereal with milk and a banana in my room as compensation for the breakfast.

Very convenient for coming off Dover ferry. Good breakfast. Efficient but not warm welcome. Only informed about hotel car park as I was leaving. Breakfast timings seemed to cause much concern!

It was its central locality and the local knowledge of the owner which was extremely useful. The owne3r was extremely helpful with everything. Nothing was a problem. There is a narrow steep staircase to climb - which would not suit anyone in the older bracket with health problems. There is no lift. This was the only thing that we could fault.

“Very friendly owners who went out of their way to make us welcome. Good location for the local sights and practical bus stop very near the guest house for local travel to Hastings etc. If the staff are friendly and the breakfast this good, what else can you expect for the reasonable price. ” Patrick, Chesterfield |
