This privately-owned country hotel situated on road A443 Worcester to Tenbury Wells is located in an exceptionally beautiful part of Worcestershire, between Abberley Hills and Woodbury Hills. The hotel name dates from centuries ago when the oldest part of the building was used as the collecting house for the tithes gathered from 100 districts in the county. The premises have now grown to a 27 bedroom hotel offering a high standard of accommodations together with banquet and conference facilities. Civil weddings and wedding receptions are a specialty. The restaurant is renowned for offering the best choice of locally farmed produce and is open for lunches 7 days a week. Hotel Rooms: 27

Chosen as it was the venue for our wedding reception 24yrs ago. Rooms were comfortable, clean and well appointed; food was delicious, promptly served and well presented. Staff were very accommodating. Our only critical comment would be that the decor could do with a freshen up, however it was clean and presentable.

The hotel is in a good location, convenient to Worcester and easy to find. The hotel has seen much better days and in need of lots of TLC which,as it is for sale,it would need from new owners in order to get it back to the standard I remember when last there many years ago.

Location for where I needed to be. Decent evening meal. Friendly staff Bit of a 1970's throwback. Breakfast service a little disappointing. No cask beer on at the bar.

Served the purpose after a board meeting locally. Run down depressing place. You only had to breath and the bed squeaked loudly and was lumpy It should be put on a skip immediately

Lovely hotel - staff were fabulous -- we had a lovely meal in the evening and then breakfast in the morning - the morning of our departure there was another guest making a loud complaint and the staff handled the situation perfectly - he was abnoxious and they just calmly controlled the situation -- well done!

The staff were very friendly and both our dinner and breakfasts were really well cooked. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The bar/eating area could be a bit more comfortable - very bright and not very cosy. Could also do with a better decorator next time it is done.

We had a wedding at the Curridane Barnes, less thant 10mins away, so the hotel was perfectly located. We stayed in Room 17 with the 4 poster bed and jacuzzi, and had a fantastic time. The room was alittle dated, but clean and very comfortable. The staff were super polite and made the stay even better. The tv in the room was very small, and even smaller watching it from the bed, but other than that, the room was a little dated, but fit perfectly with the historical hotel.

Room was ok, but looked to be in need of decoration and a general updating. This is possibly because the hotel is up for sale. Nice location, friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was very good indeed, apart from my pet hate - individually wrapped butter pats and individual plastic pots of marmalade and jam. Evening bar meals were OK and generously portioned, but a little pricey. Overall, we'd stay there again. Nothing much wrong, especially as we were just staying one night after a family party locally.

This hotel is truly appalling and needs money spent to improve it. The so cvalled suite we booked was a joke as it wasn't a suite at all just a poky room with a tiny ensuite bathroom with a filthy shower curtain. To be honest I would not put my dogs in there. We checked out straight away and found another hotel. Would definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone - it was a completely joke!!!!!

the breakfast was spot on It was dirty, the room was in poor condition, toilets in the bar were smelly with flies. It was isolated, although our venue for a friends wedding was only 3 miles away, when we finally booked as taxi it cost 25 pounds. We rejected our 1st room because of a loud generator or fan? Its the worst hotel we've stayed in & not worth the money. If we hadn't been attending a friends wedding nearby we would have gone home. Very disappointing but we didn't let it spoil our evening.

The hotel is in a beautiful countryside location and is very easy to get to from the m5. There's easy access to Woodbury Hill, the Abberley Hills and the lovely Teme Valley. We visited nearby (walking distance) English Heritage site, Witley Court with its spectacular restored fountain. At the hotel, the staff were friendly and helpful and the atmosphere vey relaxed. The dining room was pleasant and the breakfast excellent. You are greeted by 'Hotel for sale' signs as you enter the car park and the first thing you notice after that is the flaking external paintwork. This wonderful old building needs lots of money spent on it both structurally and in terms of decor. The carpets are in places threadbare The sad thing is that it obviously has so much potential. Service could have been quicker in the dining room. On the first morning of our stay it took 45 minutes from sitting down to getting our cooked breakfast. We were'nt in a huury but, had we been, it could have been problematic.

The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The towels in the bathroom were lovely to use. The breakfast was delicious and there was plenty of it. The waitress at breakfast was cheery and pleasant, as of course were all the staff. Not much. If your bed is comforable and your breakfast sufficient - then you should not complain about incidentals!!!

Breakfast was excellent and so nice to be served and not have to keep getting up and down. Hotel seems very 'tired'. So much work needs to be done.

Interesting old worldly historic hotel. Very friendly staff, comfortable beds and sensible no nonsense menu. Great breakfast. Beautiful view from the windows. Peace and quiet...not a sound at night rolling countryside and birdsong. The room was quite stuffy and smelled of food when we first arrived
