“The Hunley is an absolutely splendid hotel and a real delight to come across. I had a large and well furnished room; the food was good and served in a restaurant with a stunning sea view; very helpful staff; what more could I want?”

We stayed at this hotel for the beautiful location and booked a double room but requested sea views. We were delighted to be upgraded to an executive room with panoramic sea views on check in. The room was clean and very comfortable, its a pity the windows arent a bit bigger to fully appreciate the views. The staff were extremely polite and helpful, providing us with details of walks in the area. Can't comment on the food as we stayed on a room only basis.

The bar area was nice. The location was beautiful. The rooms and corridors were a little dated and could do with a refurb.

Noise during the night: drunk person knocking at the room doors. It should not happen in a hotel of this level.

A very enjoyable experience. Staff helpfull, breakfast very good, room much better than 3* views interesting. Parking exceptional and golf course looks superb. Would think ideal for a golfing holiday There were no instructions on how to obtain golf balls at the driving range which looked in very good condition and I was disappointed I was unable to use this facility. Certainly will make use of it on next visit

Overall excellent and the restaurant meal was well above average Being woken up at 0630hrs by the person in the next room plugging in a hairdrier evidently with some difficulty and noise(s) being just behind my bed head. So I guess what I didnt like was the poor sound proofing between rooms

It was a quiet and peaceful place. Food was very good. Staff were very friendly and went out of there way to help. The wi-fi was very good and I had excellent coverage which I require as I work late most nights when I am working away. There was nothing I didn't like but if they could add a gym further down the line then it would be perfect.

The hotel was adequate, the things that were annoying were the lighting in the hallways and the lack of warmth in the hallways. The rock hard pillows and poor quality duvets. The menu in the bar was also limited and the breakfast was overdone. The room size was nice and the views stunning.

The accommodation was comfortable and quiet. We were visiting our family so it was more of a base. We will visit again. As vegetarians there was only one option on the dinner menu on 27th December. Breakfast was taken in Morgans Bar and we felt that a breakfast buffet bar should have been set up. We had opted for continental breakfasts and the staff had to tell us what was on offer and fetch in from the restaurant upstairs. This must have been inconvenient for them and meant that we were not able to select food for ourselves.

A comfortable and very friendly hotel. the views over the North Yorkshire coast are spectacular. The staff are welcoming and very helpful. Rooms very clean and generous size although a little bland. Mixer taps would prevent a daily scalding and light switches nearer the bed would have helped. This said would definitely return to this hotel again.
