Above expectations! The room was clean, bright and comfortable. The bathroom may be dated, but it was spotless. As long as the room is clean and comfortable, then I feel the aesthetics are unimportant. The sheets on the bed were bright white, and the mattress was very comfortable. There was a towel bale each, and toiletries. The towels were also brilliant white. For the price we paid, I was extremely pleased with everything the hotel had to offer. A good night sleep, followed by a nice continental breakfast. Couldn't ask for better.
Location good for Preston. Good for parking.
I suppose for the money paid it should've been expected. But not a pleasant or welcoming environment. Not very clean with over powering bad smell, most likely damp. In desperate need of a thorough make over to bring it up to an acceptable standard.
We were later arriving than anticipated but were welcomed warmly and shown to our room. The bed was tremendously comfortable. In the morning we again received a warm greeting. The Value: exceptional
Looked after very well. Rooms were large and clean.
Friendly staff. Clean, comfortable bed. Inexpensive. Breakfast included. Free parking.
Cracked whb, peeling floor vinyl and mouldy ceiling in shower. Large open bin next to breakfast area. A bit run-down, inside and out.
Friendliness of staff, clean linen & wifi facilities and car park.
Badly cracked wash basin. Mould growing in and around the shower. Very low water pressure in shower. TV didn't work. I was doubtful about the number of plugs in a single 13 amp socket in the main room. Breakfast was very basic (toast/cerial/coffee) - it would have been nice to have a Continental or English breakfast on offer. Incessant noise very late from nearby disco making it necessary to close all windows (which didn't keep out all the throbbing beats). Clearly this motel needs money spent on it to seriously upgrade.
helpful owner - hassle free stay. free continental breakfast excellent value for money
thinish walls. couple in next room talked all night. my wife can hear a pin drop. I slept like a log.
Needs up dating bar tv far to load
Very relaxed motel, very comfortable beds and great included breakfast (and supper). As much tea and coffee as you want.
Staff very friendly and helpful
Bed was comfortable.
When going into reception area, dinning area smelt of smoke. Also slightly in the bedroom. Continental breakfast, without croissants?
Nice quiet location - but turn the corner and there is a lovely pub. all you need is nearby. Very quaint building - full of character, however the grounds need to be neatened up . If ever they want to retire and bring in a couple of managers you can count us in!! Could be a real cracker of a place but sadly let down either through lack of funds or vision :-(
Feel that the entrance should be welcoming - not have tables laid out for breakfast and have people walking past whilst you are trying to enjoy the 'most important' meal of the day. The smell of the corridor where the rooms are located smelt of heavy smoke (febreeze and carpet freshener a definite must) but the room was lovely - no horrid smells or anything but the bathroom (clean) was very dated - but I thought it was great - deep yellow/orange suite. 2 staff - the man - friendly & helpful. The woman - not so much, felt I had upset her when I put the toast in got the impression it was a No No! just trying to be helpful, if you don't want customers to help themselves then don't put the stuff out!
Close to club
ideal for my visit en route down south
location, staff, cleanliness, great value
at this price, it would be churlish to criticise anything
Water leaking from drainpipe outside the window
Helpful staff Excellent for parking Very comfortable and adequately equipped room.
Nothing (For £35 a night it surpassed my expectations)
the cost was very reasonable the owner helpful. plenty of coffee/tea/milk. cereal and toast for breakfast (help yourself) the owner was on hand to help with drinks. We did pop down the road for a cooked breakfast on our final day The Bowling Green Inn which was all you can eat for £3.99
the corridors are cluttered and could do with a lick of paint, The bed was far to soft and high with having two mattresses on the bed could be difficult for an elderly person to manage the bed. the bathroom had a yellow/orange suite which was very dated.
Room was large, bed really comfortable even with a bad back I had a good night's sleep. Breakfast more than enough and fresh toast and fruit. Friendly staff. Quiet residents. value for money I will visit again
Rather tired decor and food smells in the public areas not pleasant. bathroom a bit ancient!! But clean and worked well!!
My wife and I found it a perfect blend of warm hospitality and comfort, with an ample and satisfying breakfast offering a wide choice. Hunters Lodge was an ideal stopover for our journey from Cornwall to Scotland. - Robert, Truro
The bed was very comfy. Good selection of food for the continental breakfast.
The Lady who welcomed us was really lovely, couldn't have been more helpful ! Beds extremely comfortable. Allowed to take my wee dog, added bonus, great location for visiting friends in Standish, Will go back again !
very friendly and comfortable.
