Cheap, clean and staff were friendly. Free breakfast (toast and cereal)...

You travel back in time to the 60's as you enter the Hunters Lodge Motel - fake wood veneer, 60's decor, orange bathroom suites etc all await your arrival! (This might be a + to some people lol!)

Very helpful staff & owners. Lovely comfy bed. Very nice, well decorated, clean and warm room. Excellent service all round. Everything I could have asked for. Will definitely stay again.

The owners were very nice. The cleanliness was excellent.

Room 6 we were in was next to the laundry and there was a constant noise day and night woken up in the early hours by staff putting on tumble dryer. The bed was good quality but we needed a step ladder to get in it when we looked it was a high base with 2 thick mattresses on my husband is disabled and I had to help him climb into bed then he had to pull me up for me to get in.On reflection it was dangerous and should be dealt with if he had turned over and fallen out he would have been hurt.

Soundproofing between rooms is minimal. Loud low frequency music from the rear of the building or car park 2 out of 4 nights that lasted 3-4 hours up until 10.30ish pm. In all fairness it was only an issue as I was trying to study course material otherwise it wouldn't have been an issue and it may have just been a boy racer parked up. I am sure if I had mentioned it to the staff they would have helped.

Rooms and bathrooms very clean. Plenty of tea and coffee and toiletries.

Reception area very run down and whole hotel stank of cigarette smoke which seems to be allowed in the bedrooms too. Had to wash all clothes and nightwear when we got home.

Staff and owners were friendly and relaxed, I felt comfortable, they answered any and all questions asked, they also helped with directions to where I was going.

Very friendly landlord with a most comfy and warm room. Very clean and tidy.

Bar and corridors rather cold. Bar could do with more comfy seating (one sofa area was very comfy). Shower rather difficult to operate and was not very hot (perhaps because I didn't know how to work it).

The price represents good value - cheaper than the usual prices for a 'budget' hotel (like Premier Inn). The welcome is more personal and friendly - and we were very well looked after at breakfast time by one of the owners.

I found it odd seeing personal items lying around e.g. a child's riding hat and toys in the corridor.

Good, comfortable, clean, no-nonsense, no-frills accommodation. Friendly and helpful owners. Very good value for money.

I arrived late and had to leave before Breakfast but was told that I could help myself to toast and cereal etc. Very informal for my benefit.

Just what we needed for overnight stay.

Easy to find, and handy for most places to visit in the northwest

The Staff were excellent,however the Lodge needed some TLC as it looke tired.

As in most hotels the shower was rubbish as the shower head was always pointing towards the shower curtain and you had to run around the shower to get wet!
