Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.
Near to my poorly daughter who lives just up the road opposite at Folly Cottage so really handy. Was really quiet considering on the main road.
wasn't too keen on the "Eggs Benedict".
Excellent hosting, very causy and very good beer/food. I enjoyed my stay very much.
Rooms were clean, and comfortable , location is good too. Full English breakfast was superb.
No hot showers in most rooms, and lack of diplomacy from the Managress in tackling a small issue infront of all visitors. This part did cause me an embarrasement!! The Manageress did telephone to apologise.
Friendly staff, excellent service. Good atmosphere, excellent choice of food.
Noisy, busy road outside bedroom ( room 8). Noisy central heating.
I know the hotel well and have stayed there annually for many years.. Food good value.staff always helpful
Roadside rooms noisy-double glazing needed ? bathroom in poor repair- things missing or hanging lose. stairwell and staircase , tatty. car parl awash with wide puddles on wet days.
we had a family get together for my birthday. The rooms were warm and comfortable. The staff were friendly even though they seemed to be a bit stressed. The choice of food was excellent and the service good. We had a very enjoyable weekend.
There was a problem with the hot water in 2 of the 3 rooms we booked but we were warned about it.
Food was fantastic along with the staff and the location. Ideal for what we wanted.
Good rooms, clean, good location for the event we were attending
Told on chek in that the rate was higher than advertised on booking.com and that it would be sorted overnight. On checkout discovered that the card used to book was charged for 3 rooms at the higher rate without notice.
Made to feel welcome Great breakfast
Nothing not to like
Very happy with the location and Inn. Pity the staff seemed to be under pressure as they were short staffed!!
Stayed for two nights going to sons wedding locally everybody very pleasant food very nice and our room very clean and comfortable

Quiet location even though it was on a busy road. Comfortable bed.
A little bit of mould in shower.
The room was very quiet despite being by a road, the bed was really comfortable and the curtains shut out all the light-Perfect for a good night's sleep. The room was a good size with lots of storage if you were staying for longer than we did (1 night). There was also a really good cold and hot selection for breakfast. The croissants were delicious as were the eggs benedict and cooked breakfast.
Shower cubicle was very small and the water wasn't very hot although the pressure was good.
Too close to road for sleeping
Only had a few hours sleep as we were attending a nearby wedding, then had to be up at 5.30am to go to work. The bed was so comfortable. It was the best few hours sleep I have ever had in a hotel.
Had to wait in the bar area for quite a while to be shown our room and given the key as the restaurant was busy. When staff eventually arrived they were very pleasant and helpful.
The food was very good
The breakfast was good.
The decor was very tatty, the pillows were rock hard. The net curtains needed a good clean. Both bathroom taps dripped. Needed a total revamp, even had differant colour paints on the door frame.
Food was excellent and good value. We found the restaurant service to be good. Room was comfortable, particularly the bed. Location - very good if visiting Tetbury or Highgrove Gardens. Car park very large. Nice garden with plenty of tables.
There was not much not to like but the drawer space in the room was a bit niggardly -- there were four drawers: one at bedside, but of the three others, two were occupied by tea-making equipment and by the hair dryer, so effectively only two drawers. The radiator which should have warmed the towels in the bathroom did not.
Everything - we had had a long drive from Bude to Northampton and back. The welcome was wonderful, food delicious and beds very comfy.
There was nothing we could find fault with!
Near wedding venue
A warm welcome, staff unfailingly helpful and friendly, bedroom very comfortable as, indeed, were all the rooms we used; we were very impressed with the quality and choices offered at breakfast.......very good value for money.
Service in the bar at lunch time rather slow and food could have been warmer.
Very nice place, friendly staff and very good pub style food and real ale.
The accommodation met expectation based on price. It's not the Ritz but then it doesn't cost the earth to stay there. Bed was very comfortable and we slept well. Shower was hot and powerful. Ideal location for weddings in the Matara Centre across the road. Had food at the Inn which was good, as was the ale.
Probably in need of a refresh, in particular the en-suite shower rooms. It all works but is starting to look tired.
