Score from 75 reviews Very good
Price was low enough to accept poor quality of room
Stained sheets, bathroom door would not lock and general lack of details expected from an old english inn
Food was good, full menu also a 2 meals for £9.95 offer. Lovely roaring fires, lovely old building with stone floors and thick stone walls. Professional staff. The Inn is on a main road but the traffic noise wasn't a problem. Great garden very child friendly, climbing frame and little house plus small woodland at the back great for adventure walks for little 'uns
Nothing to complain about. Will go back
Excellent food and very friendly staff!
- Room was very warm - Great bed - Well thought through layout of room - Nice hot shower - Very quiet, (even though it was next to an A road)
- Some fixtures and fittings were a little tired
staff were pleasant and helpful, breakfast was very good Conveniently located for a wedding at Kinscote Barns Bathroom and room were clean Bed was very comfortable we liked the soft and cosy duvet
cold room on returning at night, engineer was working on the heating system when we left for wedding and he didn't put the radiators back on. Black mold on the net curtains
The facilities, staff , food, location were all lovely. The whole place has a welcoming and cared for atmosphere.
The wifi does not reach the bedroom block.
the room, decent bed. good evening meal pleasant friendly staff good decor/facilities would stay again
poor condition of bathroom/shower needs paintwork and some tidying up of fittings breakfast tea/coffee from flask??tepid
Proximity to destination next morning.
Room very dark even with all lights on except for bathroom which was properly lit. Only way to see to dry hair was to use extension lead and stand in bathroom doorway. Shower incredibly small leaving little room for manoeuvre to wash hair. Very noisy road from around 6am.
Restaurant was handy with a good choice of food. Although rooms are next to a fairly busy road, it was really quiet at night and we slept well.
We would have liked to access the free wifi without having to register with the Cloud.
Good price, location and comfortable. Suited my needs very well.
The radiators gurgled loudly
Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.
Near to my poorly daughter who lives just up the road opposite at Folly Cottage so really handy. Was really quiet considering on the main road.
wasn't too keen on the "Eggs Benedict".
Excellent hosting, very causy and very good beer/food. I enjoyed my stay very much.
Rooms were clean, and comfortable , location is good too. Full English breakfast was superb.
No hot showers in most rooms, and lack of diplomacy from the Managress in tackling a small issue infront of all visitors. This part did cause me an embarrasement!! The Manageress did telephone to apologise.
Friendly staff, excellent service. Good atmosphere, excellent choice of food.
Noisy, busy road outside bedroom ( room 8). Noisy central heating.
I know the hotel well and have stayed there annually for many years.. Food good value.staff always helpful
Roadside rooms noisy-double glazing needed ? bathroom in poor repair- things missing or hanging lose. stairwell and staircase , tatty. car parl awash with wide puddles on wet days.
we had a family get together for my birthday. The rooms were warm and comfortable. The staff were friendly even though they seemed to be a bit stressed. The choice of food was excellent and the service good. We had a very enjoyable weekend.
There was a problem with the hot water in 2 of the 3 rooms we booked but we were warned about it.
Food was fantastic along with the staff and the location. Ideal for what we wanted.
Good rooms, clean, good location for the event we were attending
Told on chek in that the rate was higher than advertised on booking.com and that it would be sorted overnight. On checkout discovered that the card used to book was charged for 3 rooms at the higher rate without notice.
Made to feel welcome Great breakfast
Nothing not to like
Very happy with the location and Inn. Pity the staff seemed to be under pressure as they were short staffed!!
Stayed for two nights going to sons wedding locally everybody very pleasant food very nice and our room very clean and comfortable

Quiet location even though it was on a busy road. Comfortable bed.
A little bit of mould in shower.
The room was very quiet despite being by a road, the bed was really comfortable and the curtains shut out all the light-Perfect for a good night's sleep. The room was a good size with lots of storage if you were staying for longer than we did (1 night). There was also a really good cold and hot selection for breakfast. The croissants were delicious as were the eggs benedict and cooked breakfast.
Shower cubicle was very small and the water wasn't very hot although the pressure was good.
