Score from 510 reviews Good
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a good location, just off the A14, a good leisure centre and good breakfast.
Staff very helpfull friendly, lovely room, excellent food! loved it did not want to leavel
The room was spacious and well equipped. Clean and comfortable. I love having windows that open but also air con if needed. Swimming pool was wonderful.
staff were very friendly and helpful hotel lived up to our expectations & more
felt the price of drinks were rather expensive
I booked a twin room, several months in advance but was given a double bed - my wife and I are in our eighties and have difficulty in sleeping in a double less than a king size. And although I had pheasant breast for dinner there was a bone (wing?) in my meat - breast does not contain bone.
Rooms were very comfortable.
Quality of the food and drinks were ridiculously expensive.
I am dissapointed, I was unable to use the fitness facilities, because the hotel were carrting out a photo shoot
Facilities and location are excellent
Location, reasonably priced. Quiet considering location.
Rather impersonal, air condition a bit noisy. Don't accept animals.
The young black gentleman at the front desk was more than friendly which made the start of the weekend so welcoming.
The food The bedroom
The service The staff This led to areas, especially the bar looking as though a bomb had hit it.The restaraunt was the same, they were never ready for you, tables left unset, staff under pressure. Also I believe the bar prices were that of a 5 star hotel and this was anything but.
plenty of amenities, helpful staff and comfortable room
I asked for a double bed and got a twin in stead
Good location rooms were well equipped with great leisure facilities
Cost of breakfast £15.95 !!!!! Outrageous
Very nice, clean and comfortable hotel. Excellent breakfast with huge choice. Exceptional staff, professional, helpful and friendly. Nice grounds, plenty of parking with disabled spaces close to hotel entrance.
No free wifi in guestrooms, cost is very high at £15 per 24 hours. Free wifi in public areas but these can become very busy and noisy.
That the booking on here for a double room is only provisional. When we arrived all the double rooms had been taken so we had to decide between a twin room or a accessible room (everything lower) and rails everywhere. After much discussion with staff. We settled with an accessible room. Not the best for a romantic weekend away. Also I was concerned in case we were taking the room that someone else needed.
Food. swimming pool . Steam room. And the bar ..and the staff were very helpfull and polite.
I didn't like that there was swimming lessons in the swimming pool on the sat as it was very. Noisy..... We went away to get away from the children. Also I asked for a room away from any function and we was on the same floor as the guest.
It was all good :-)
Drinks was expensive:-(
spacious room and hallways, quality fittings, excellent shower, pleasant, quiet location, tasteful décor, in the American style, value for money
1]. being asked, unusually, and inappropriately, for a £50 deposit as if it was a requirement. Heard the person in the next queue being told it was not compulsory, so I was able to avoid it, but the option should have been made clear from the outset. 2]. The spicy pea and lentil 'kitchen soup' was almost inedible, so heavily loaded up with salt.
Food, room, pool, steam room, sauna. Staff were welcoming and helpful
Bed was sloping
A little expensive with no free wifi and no breakfast at 100 pound a night room only.
Great quality hotel. Love Marriott
A few niggles: There was a very large group in for dinner, and staff got a bit overworked perhaps. Staff forgot my drinks order at dinner, so after a wait, food arrived first. Apologies forthcoming. Drink reordered. Brought quickly. No charge for beer! Starter off the set menu wasn't great, had probably been sitting around a long time. Steak main excellent. Rioja great. Staff asked how meal was. Mentioned starter was poor. They didn't charge for it! Good resolution by staff of what we're probably one offs. Staff really friendly. Will go back for work again.
Really friendly staff. Good food. Great gym facilities. Convenient location. The Recharge shop is very handy too.
I struggle with getting the aircon just right :)
