Very nice, clean and comfortable hotel. Excellent breakfast with huge choice. Exceptional staff, professional, helpful and friendly. Nice grounds, plenty of parking with disabled spaces close to hotel entrance.
No free wifi in guestrooms, cost is very high at £15 per 24 hours. Free wifi in public areas but these can become very busy and noisy.
That the booking on here for a double room is only provisional. When we arrived all the double rooms had been taken so we had to decide between a twin room or a accessible room (everything lower) and rails everywhere. After much discussion with staff. We settled with an accessible room. Not the best for a romantic weekend away. Also I was concerned in case we were taking the room that someone else needed.
Food. swimming pool . Steam room. And the bar ..and the staff were very helpfull and polite.
I didn't like that there was swimming lessons in the swimming pool on the sat as it was very. Noisy..... We went away to get away from the children. Also I asked for a room away from any function and we was on the same floor as the guest.
It was all good :-)
Drinks was expensive:-(
spacious room and hallways, quality fittings, excellent shower, pleasant, quiet location, tasteful décor, in the American style, value for money
1]. being asked, unusually, and inappropriately, for a £50 deposit as if it was a requirement. Heard the person in the next queue being told it was not compulsory, so I was able to avoid it, but the option should have been made clear from the outset. 2]. The spicy pea and lentil 'kitchen soup' was almost inedible, so heavily loaded up with salt.
Food, room, pool, steam room, sauna. Staff were welcoming and helpful
Bed was sloping
A little expensive with no free wifi and no breakfast at 100 pound a night room only.
Great quality hotel. Love Marriott
A few niggles: There was a very large group in for dinner, and staff got a bit overworked perhaps. Staff forgot my drinks order at dinner, so after a wait, food arrived first. Apologies forthcoming. Drink reordered. Brought quickly. No charge for beer! Starter off the set menu wasn't great, had probably been sitting around a long time. Steak main excellent. Rioja great. Staff asked how meal was. Mentioned starter was poor. They didn't charge for it! Good resolution by staff of what we're probably one offs. Staff really friendly. Will go back for work again.
Really friendly staff. Good food. Great gym facilities. Convenient location. The Recharge shop is very handy too.
I struggle with getting the aircon just right :)
The staff and food.
Room size, leisure facilities, breakfast
Room smelt of stale smoke, jacuzzi in spa had so much chlorine in it, it burnt your eyes and no room in restaurants, luckily they had room service which was reasonably priced. Recommend you book before you arrive.
Generally the hotel was fine, and others in our party who stayed in a standard room got what they expected.
We booked a superior room with robes and slippers, but none were provided after requesting 8 times over two days. Also the information in the room said that the wifi and snacks were chargeable, whereas apparently they should be free in a superior room. We complained on check-out and received free breakfasts in compensation, but we had not got what we expected and had expended a lot of energy in complaining. Two days later we received a bland, generic email saying that our complaints would be looked into.
Made an effort to secure me a quiet room, Fast service in restaurant, room was ok.
Hallway cluttered with old bottles and glasses of alcohol, is there no cleaning staff to collect these?
Staff were pleasant and apologetic for time taken to book in room was lovely breakfast was full of choice and plentiful
Having to wait to book in at 8.30 in the evening and to pay a deposit which is refunded later
The hotel is part of the Marriott Group, so the initial standard is present.
The hotel and its reception staff failed to present any human contact and friendliness, a complete lack of warmth and friendliness. I am used to a warm welcome, maybe they should check into a Premier Inn, and take notice of how it should be. they are the front line to any hotel if they fail the hotel fails.
Expensive for location, over looking a14! Wifi in room was an extra £10' when the room was over priced at £119
Excellent location. First class facilities. Friendly staff.
Breakfast and bar prices quite expensive
Comfortable room and helpful staff
We requested a double room and were given two singles
Expensive. Internet should be free
The price of the breakfast
The staff are all really friendly in a natural rather than coached way. The building is solid, no creaks from upstairs or bathroom noises from next door. The breakfast is deliciously comprehensive Best of all the pool is a haven of no fuss luxury, in that everything is just right, ready for your enjoyment, and you don't even need to take your towel downstairs, a coin for the lockers or shampoo etc. We love it and are already planning our next trip to this smashing hotel.
