Score from 429 reviews Good
The hotel is part of the Marriott Group, so the initial standard is present.
The hotel and its reception staff failed to present any human contact and friendliness, a complete lack of warmth and friendliness. I am used to a warm welcome, maybe they should check into a Premier Inn, and take notice of how it should be. they are the front line to any hotel if they fail the hotel fails.
Excellent location. First class facilities. Friendly staff.
Breakfast and bar prices quite expensive
Comfortable room and helpful staff
We requested a double room and were given two singles
Expensive. Internet should be free
The price of the breakfast
The staff are all really friendly in a natural rather than coached way. The building is solid, no creaks from upstairs or bathroom noises from next door. The breakfast is deliciously comprehensive Best of all the pool is a haven of no fuss luxury, in that everything is just right, ready for your enjoyment, and you don't even need to take your towel downstairs, a coin for the lockers or shampoo etc. We love it and are already planning our next trip to this smashing hotel.
Excellent dining with equally good staff
Difficult to locate and too far away from town
room was quite big with a large TV and bath plus shower.
limited toiletries in the bathroom, also the room a bit cold and some of the channels on the TV had bad reception.
for our requirements,( racing at Newmarket, and visiting Huntingdon!! the perfect location.,the staff very helpful and welcoming, almost home from home!!
The location was good for the event we were due to go to Reception staff were very good and accommodating at all times.
I had to go back to reception after we had checked in to move rooms as we had been allocated a double bed even though I had requested two single beds when booking as I was traveling with my mum. Also on the second day we returned to our room in the afternoon to find our room had not been cleaned. We had to ask twice before it was finally sorted. The food was too expensive for us to eat inhouse but it looked nice.
I enjoyed the leisure facilities
There was not enough tea, milk, sugar in the rooms & no biscuits. We had to pay £50 in case we drank from the mini bar in the room, there wasn't one
Breakfast was good, great parking, great rooms, tv wifi and other facilities. Great leisure facilities. Had the potential to be a great stay , but....
Tea and coffee at breakfast were not available until you asked the waiting staff. Service was a bit patchy. International hotel - the staff seemed self absorbed with their own problems, and service felt impersonal. Didn't get the room configuration I asked for. Check-in took 15 minutes from starting to serve me till getting keys and rooms. Hotel decor felt a bit tired in places. Some public areas need decorating. Overall not what I expected from Marriott and sub their usual standard.
Marriott down the road for the second day of my holiday booked well in advance than this one was 134 pounds with breakfast for 4 and probably (1 single bed space was extra). HI was £69 without break fast.
If you are after a quiet holiday choose a race free day.
friendly staff and excellent leisure facilities
Reception were very obliging when we checked in and found us a disabled room.
Delayed when checking out.
Looked grand and the staff were friendly. Price was really good.
Empty glasses in hallways, previous guests paperwork left on bed and also shower not the best. I am only 6'2" and the highest the shower would go was my chest, most hotels such as travelodge or holiday inn are now being refurbished to fit the times.
Room was spacious, clean and comfortable Spa/fitness facilities excellent Staff friendly Breakfast delicious
Location was difficult to get in to town without a car - taxis were swift but a bit expensive
Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice.
Possibly more bar staff required when bar was busy.
A late check-in and a full hotel meant I was given a smoking room. Needless to say I didn't stay so I cannot comment on the hotel any further.
Room was nicely presented.
Breakfast wasn't included & was extortionately priced.
The rooms were relaxing and very comfortable
Disappointed with room as: 1) given the room sutable for a disabled persons, was not informed at the reception of the room facilities. 2) toilet door creaking loudly 3) toilet flusher make noise like fog horn after every flush.
Lovely cushy bed. I enjoyed the steam room, pool and sauna
The insanely expensive breakfast. Cut your guests a break!
