The location is exceptionally peaceful and yet still close to motorways. I encountered only reception staff and they could not have been more courteous or helpful, charming and informative without being over fussy. I appreciated the spotless white bedlinen and the clean, attractive presentation of my room. I cannot comment on the restaurant provision as I had 'room only' but the bar menu on the bedside table offered reasonably priced & fair variety of meals. The grounds are lovely, I only regret I had too few daylight hours to enjoy them. I would certainly use the hotel again, hopefully when I have more time to appreciate and explore the setting.

Location is in easy reach of M1 and M25. The hotel is in a very quiet setting and we will definitely stay there again. Our room was quite small and could have benefited from a lick of paint on one of the walls as it was very marked.

We were looking for a cheap nights sleep after taking my husband to the snow dome as a birthday treat we live 2 hours away but travelling back at 11pm and 8 months pregnant wasnt an option, the room was clean, tidy and relaxing, we didnt use the facilities as was just there to sleep really and for £40 a night it was perfect, both the girl on reception and the lady serving breakfast were lovely and a credit to the hotel, booking in and out was easy and we had a brief yet nice stay

Great value for money offer on the room, however, restaurant was expensive. Rooms are small and situated away from the main building connected via a long corridor resembling a motel building

Very impressive building at the end of a long drive. Such a pity that the hotel itself is in a far less impressive building next door. We were fortunate enough to be offered a good discount on booking but feel the full price may be excessive bearing in mind the following comments. Long walk along cold corridor up stairs [no lifts and no offer of help with heavy cases] to a very small room. The shower was difficult to control and ran either extremely hot or cold.

Room was clean After travelling for 5 hours and arriving at 1.30pm I was told I could not check in until 2pm because that was the hotel policy. It didn't feel like the hotel was full and the receptionist didn't check whether there was a room available. The rooms were extremely hot which made it incredibly uncomfortable to stay in.

Absolutely incredible value for money. Booked the hotel as a romantic weekend for Christmas and didn't expect to have such luxury for the price I paid! The use of the beautiful private swimming pool was included in the price, and it was honestly divine. Would not hestitate to book this hotel again, could not fault it one bit. The grounds are huge and stunning, it's just a shame that it rained so we weren't able to experience them to the full extent. A beautiful retreat. I cannot complain about the hotel, at all!

The customer service was outstanding. The staff make you feel very comfortable and attend to your requests with efficiency and quality. Very satisfied with the overall service and was a main contributor to the stay. There was no breakfast for room service. Which wouldve be ideal. But its not a complaint- juSt a suggestion.

Quiet, clean room. Good strong shower. Comfy bed. Beautiful grounds (apparently) Shower curtain kept wrapping itself around me in the shower so I had to wrap it around the bath handle. Staff at reception were happy to let me stay in until noon, rather than the 10am check out, but only told me that they were going to charge me £10 extra when I asked. There was no compromise. It eventually got sorted by one of the other guests, so that I could stay till 11am free of charge. I found that member of staff not particularly helpful, which was in stark comparison to every other member of staff with whom I had contact.

Locaton was close to where I wanted to be, the rate through booking.com good. Breakfast ok, Buffet style breakfast, all the usual buffet type choices, nothing special however. Has a swimming pool but did not try it. Overall ok would probably stay again if in area. None that I can think of.

Got a discounted deal so very good value- not sure I'd be so happy at full tarrif though. Modern, comfy and clean - you don't stay in the old house in the pics. Buffet breakfast (not included in rate)- cardboard bacon and frisbee eggs - no offer of anything different. Bar meals very limited although restaurant looked good but pricey. Felt a bit soul-less and staff on auto - typical of large operation.

The location was excellent it was a 10 minute drive to my meeting, which was my main reason for booking the hotel, the second been price. As a De Vere hotel, I thought the room was small, it had dirty marks on the wall however the room its self was clean. In addition the room appeard to have an infestation of laidybirds.......in October ? Although the heating (radiator) was off the room was too warm and I ended up sleeping with the window partly open as their was no airconditioning in the room ? If the local council permitts the hotel could do with a more prominnent sign on the road side as you can easily drive past particularly if following a satnav, which takes you past the hotel and down a small country lane, although adjacent to the hotel.

Loved the location. Building gorgeous and staff excellent. Didnt like restaurant. Felt it was more like a bistro bar but food and staff excellent. Thought the restaurant would reflect De Vere Swindon (as it used to be) and Cameron House but was disappointed.

Location suited needs Hotel was very nice however our stay coincided with a wedding reception and it became very noisy in the early hours of the morning which we had o report to reception. We also thought that although the rooms were very nice the walls were paper thin and you could hear every noise.
