The location was where we needed to be. The room was not very clean or in good decorative order. The shower had very little power behind it so it wasn't possible to wash one's hair. The staff didn't seem very happy to be there or particularly inclined to be helpful and friendly.

The Bar area and Restaurant. The quality of the finish in the rooms and the fact the heating did not work, lack of cleanliness and mediocre room facilities.

Location is excellent if you are visiting Hurtwood School, if you are not stay somewhere else. Breakfast good. Food in the bar on Sunday evening was truly awful. Rooms are furnished with the cheapest furniture and the outside is not maintained well. The "family rooms" at the rear were built to a budget and need updating.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfy and the excellent breakfast made the room good value for money. The restaurant food was lovely and also well-priced. The decoration of the room was a little tired and the bathroom also could have done with a bit of sprucing. A television with more than 4 channels would also have been nice.

Great value, lovely helpful staff, free wi-fi, good food and full cooked breakfast in the price No satellite tv and old analogue tv sets. Booking.com stated separate seating area and trouser press in room neither of which was accurate but room was fine as just me staying.

We have stayed at the Hurtwood Hotel in the past and have always found it a pleasurable experience,The staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. The dining room has a relaxing atmosphere and the food is well cooked and presented with plenty of choice.Although the hotel is the "local," bar noise does not impede on the residents and it is a good place for light snacks. The only drawback to the hotel is the lack of up to date television sets

This hotel is the only one in Peaslake which itself is quite far from anywhere else. So visiting this area requires a stay here. The hotel is over a pub which means its quite noisy until early in the morning. Facilities are a bit simple and some refurbishment is required. However the bed was comfortable, the hotel was clean and the breakfast was good. Definitely not in the luxury area. Very quiet when human noise finally finishes. The shower head did not fit into the holder and had to be balanced. The shower had been repaired and was unsightly. The ledge in the bathroom had seen better days. Very thin walls and doors meant noises throughout the hotel were very audible.

I have known this hotel/Inn for almost thirty years and it has always been the heart of Peaslake Village. It's cosy and friendly but at the same time well decorated rooms have new bathrooms and up to date facilities. Great menu both in the bar and restaurant. The bar/lounge area has recently been decorated and is trying to be both a bistro coffee shop as well as a pub and I didn't feel it suceeded. The provence style mustard paintwork doesn't work and I wish they had concentrated on just upgrading the traditional style that was there already.

The room was clean and comfortable but the views from the 2 windows completely blocked by roof gables making it rather dark. The bathroom was dated with a stained carpet and elderly plastic bath. The service however was good as was the food. A wider selection of fruit for breakfast or even better fresh fruit salad would have made the breakfast excellent. Tired bathroom with no shower.

Utterly stunning location- the sort of spot that probably typifies rural England to foreign visitors. A village inn, right in the centre of a beautiful Surrey Hills setting. The staff are are helpful and cheerful and there are few enough rooms for you to feel like an individual, not just one of many anonymous guests. Money has clearly been spent on public rooms. Slightly eclectic mix of furniture in the room- with some need for refreshment or refurbishment. Some upholstery was stained and there was a general air of shabbiness - but not neglect. Just felt that an injection of cash investment would make a big difference. Bathroom was not 100pc clean, with someone else's hairs attached to the tap and on the floors. Outside of sink had toothpaste stain- reflecting a hurried cleaning session.

The village of Peaslake is beautiful. Sitting outside the hotel having a drink watching the world go by on a lovely summer's day was great. However cab services are not good as we were unable to get a cab to take us to the wedding reception we had come for! Breakfast was a bit naff.

Location was superb - plenty of lovely walks within easy distance. Restaurant food was excellent and available beers also very good. While the restaurant staff were friendly, we found the other staff a bit starchy.

attractive country pub/hotel in a quiet and picturesque village within easy reach of Dorking, where our family focus lay. Very friendly and obliging bar and hotel staff who engaged with our accompanying small child in a nice way. Quiet rooms, clean and comfortable.

We chose this hotel as other friends were staying here for a wedding. The cooked breakfast was good. The hotel is looking a little tired now. The tiles in the bathrooms were all cracked and there was mould around the bath. Having previously been told that an early (or late) check in wouldn't be a problem, when we arrived it wasn't as easy as we had thought. The staff were fine, but not overly friendly. For the amount they charge for a room with breakfast, I think there needs to be some money spent on modernising rooms, and also some more smiles from the staff.
