* Club lounge was a nice feature... * Views from the upper floors are great... * View outside when travelling in some lifts is a nice touch... * Decent gym & spa for a hotel... * Great location... * Nice room...
* WiFi at extra cost!!! This really should be free in this day & age! * Very limited/no on site parking... * Local car park was expensive... * Air con not working/wasn't on in the gym! Despite requests to turn it on, it never happened, no explanation or apology given!
Excellent location in the centre of Birmingham and loved the floor to ceiling windows, modern furnishings and ground level bar area.
Paid-for wifi. Guests shouldn't have to pay for wifi - in this day and age it feels as though the hotel is ripping you off to charge for it. No water in my room. I took a bottle of water out of the mini bar, as I thought they had put it in there by mistake, and they tried to charge me for it. Not good.
I've stayed here before with my mum and we were fortunate enough to have a high room then too. It's a beautiful hotel, with a beautiful view. It was clean and staff were friendly and very helpful. I will definitely be staying here again!
There's nothing I don't like.
Great hotel, staff were very friendly and welcoming. Room was clean, comfortable with a lovely view of the city. Great place for a mid week getaway.
Clean comfortable room with a good view.
Trying to charge £13 parking when we came by train, waiting half an hour to get served at the bar. Poor pillows,
Room was very nice and comfortable, the bar was full on the evening and the atmosphere was terrific.
Afternnon tea and cake - £40 per couple!!! Overpriced!
the bridge through to the symphony hall. All of the aspects of the hotel were first rate. Excellent.
The pool facilities The view from the room was amazing Comfy bed! Brilliant access to everything in birmingham
I requested for some forks to be brought unto the room, which I was told wouldn't be a problem, but they never arrived...
Excellent location opposite the ICC.
Mohammad at reception was amazing. He made us all very welcome and went the extra mile to make sure we had everything we needed. Location was excellent and very near to the station and Xmas market.
Dinner in the hotel. We decided to stay in and eat but we're sadly very disappointed. I originally ordered sweet potato soup from the set menu but was told it would take too long to cook so had the option of tomato which was fine. Unfortunately it was a tin of chopped tomatoes instead! Other dishes just as disappointing and we felt really let down - should have gone out instead!
Stayed here many times its a nice place to stay in the heart of birmingham
Room and location
Excellent location for theatres/restaurants with superb city views from higher floor. Very good, reasonably priced breakfast. Spacious well-appointed very clean room. Enjoyed quiet pool and sauna.
We knew no on-site parking but hotel could have contacted us prior to arrival to inform that recommended pay/display car park was closed. Notice in room was too late by which time we had dealt with problem with some inconvenience. Used shuttle from hotel to car park at end of stay but staff do not advertise this good complimentary service, had to actively seek and could have been put off by concierge response.
View, comfort, cleanliness, reception staff, in room facilities, bed size.
Very disappointed with the 6.50 am room service that knocked 3 times on a Sunday morning! Over priced, room was fairly small, bathroom tiny. Not worth the £150 i paid! You then have to pay another £15 to park your car!!
Service Spacious room Style Facilities Location Access to ICC
Air con did not work properly and needs attention
Bed hard air con issues tv issues dirty towels noises at night checking out issues
How welcome we were made, so clean & comfortable, we will be back
Everything staff were attentive could not ask for better
We loved this hotel! Brilliant location and we had a room with a great view too.
It was clean, beds was comfty wish we had booked two nights instead of one :)
lack of cleanliness (bathroom) when complained nothing done, arrogant staff, very expensive for what you get or dont get!
Friendly pleasant staff excellent sorroundings
Staff are all lovely, facilities superb. The location cannot be beaten, and the views are incredible. Second time we've stayed as we enjoyed it last time.
Watch out for the tiled ridge above the bath - I've got a lovely bump on my head from scooting up the bath!
Swimming pool, sauna etc. was lovely
king size bed used 2 single beds so there was a dip in the middle
lovely big room, great toiletries, perfect for the ICC
Comfortable and spacious. Brilliantly positioned for visitors to the ICC and Symphony Hall
Breakfast staff were a bit below par for a hotel of this class
