Shaftesbury Premier London Paddington  

I have been in London several years i usually stay in novotel paddigton or royal eagle hotel ,but this time i try some new,and was the worse thing that i did,i tell why,i was travelling with my wife for many contries ,so i have two big luggage and one small one ,my luggage could not get inside the room,the room was too tight ,that if i need to go to bathroom ,my wife need to stay in bed ,i can not imagine how this hotel has a rate 4 star,the prince willian hotel (2 star) is more confortable than this one.Shaftsbury never more.

Specified a room with a view. There seemed to be very few people in the hotel, regardless, we were given a room in the lowest part of the basement with a view of a pipe fitting.

It was very conveniently located to the tube station. Parking for £20 per night was also reasonable for this area of town.

The room and bathroom were both very small. Nothing that wasn't expected for this type of hotel in London, but do not expect any spare space or to want to spend any time in the room other than sleeping.

Rooms were small but perfectly comfortable. Great amenities including complimentary water which you do not get everywhere and it is very much appreciated.

The shower was good, but extremely small. I am an average build female and found it difficult getting in and out. The aircon did not seem to work properly and though it was set at 19 degrees, lowest it would go, the room was still very warm.

Good Family room and service

It's more spacious of staying in the club room, and can also enjoy the free drinks and snacks.

The room is clean but the window can't be shut completely. The room seems a bit dusty.

Near to the station.

Very small rooms and bathrooms,couldnt close the window and bathroom door.Do not stay in room no1, it is right in front of the reception, very noisy and minature in size.I Dont know what the 4 stars indicate its certainly not a four star hotel.

I have stayed in many hotels in London based on location close to Paddington and King's Cross, and they have been horrible. The Shaftesbury is a great contrast in size of rooms, cleanliness, and facilities. It creates a good impression right from the start with a proper foyer rather than a desk crammed into a corridor, and with well dressed staff rather than some unshaven guy dressed in jeans who barely speaks English.

For London, the price and location, I don't have anything negative to say.

Our whole experience was great. We arrived early and the fact the hotel offers a service for looking after your bags so we could explore the town prior to checking in was great! We had previously stayed at the novotel and to be honest we preferred the comfort and style of the Shaftesbury. Thank you

There is nothing to dislike but my only suggestion would be that wifi be made available in all rooms, instead of having to go the lobby each time to access wifi.

The bsth room is to small you cannot swing a cat in it.

Well the thing is that they were not able to change the first impression, I booked a room with 1 month anticipation, and the night I got there they gave me a room in the basement, the room was so small the bed touched both walls, the bathroom you could barely sit, they didn't even bother to try to explain before they gave me the room, I think they just expected me to accept it, the bext day they changed us to a different room, though the window of the room could not be opened, it was broken, and the room temperature was inadequate, although the staff tries to be friendly they don't really apologize for describing the rooms as luxury rooms and they are not at all that.

The proximity to Padington Station.

No welcom smile from reception. "Booking in?" Was all I got. The room offered me was to small for me to get into bed from the sides. I complained and was firstly told that all the rooms were of the same size. Then another person at reception suggested a new room which was much bigger and closer to the value for £139. I will not stay there again.
