I thought the staff were very experienced and helpful. I was very impressed with them. Food was excellent. I realised afterwards I could have requested bigger beds - perhaps. The bed was a bit too soft. My friend and his son, are both about 6ft 6ins tall, so the beds were a bit short for them. My friend was upgraded to a double bed so he could sleep across his bed. His son was not so lucky.

Pleasant room with side view of sea. Peaceful. Good breakfast. Not made to feel very welcome by reception staff. Had to register my credit card for £200 although total bill was £99. For express check out I had to give credit card number and security code on a form that anyone can see and use to gain access to my account.

A good friendly and comfortable hotel. The half screen door on the bath did not prevent water from shower splashing onto the floor.

I have been many times, with my wife in earlier days and alone more recently; for the first time I occupied Room 311 which is delightful, quite the best room I have had. I shall ask for it again. Only problem was access to bath taps, I am old, and tv did not work despite porters efforts. Nothing to dislike!

Restaurant: Greeting @ service, Menu Choice, Presentation, Breakfast @ evening meal all excellent. Friendliness of staff. This is a very friendly, quiet hotel with facilities mainly for the the "summer" months and very much suited towards the elderly and not for a young family. Room: The bed is far to small, especially the length. I am 6ft and found it very uncomfortable. Bar: Service very slow especially if staff doing duties in the conservatory. Also bar closed and shutters up by 22:45pm even when guests in lounge. Overall: Décor is out dated but in keeping with "old" style hotel.

We loved the atmosphere of the place. Felt rather like we had stepped back in time when we sat and had a drink in the leather armchairs amongst the rows of old books. Comfy room and excellent breakfast. Couldn't fault anything - thoroughly enjoyable stay and would certainly visit again.

we loved the welcome and ease of the hotelandits location with stunning views of the coast and south downs. The restaurant and conservatory bar food and drinks service were excellent in every way. The single beds in our twin room were too narrow but fortunately we were able to change rooms to enable a zip and link double. recommendation : to create rooms with Superking size and king size beds as most other country house hotels offer.

Pretty well every thing. Staff first class and friendly without being stuffy. Would definately come again and would recommend the hotel to friends. Eastbourne is a favourite with us. Just one thing. Our bed was too soft for us as we prefer a harder mattress. Don't know if this applies to all your rooms. Appreciate this is our personal choise of course.

I liked being upgraded. I liked the price. I liked the breakfast, the sea view from my room (311), the sandwiches in the bar, the conservatory, and having a car park (in a town where it's notoriously difficult to park). Liked it all, to be honest.

The staff, are as always, friendly, welcoming and reassuring for a lone travaller, smily faces, served with the coffees etc. There are areas chipped paint work that need attention upstaris, especially near the spa area, which ought to have a more welcoming feel to it. The spa and staff itself are very welcoming and need a little bit of support in the area of their rooms.
