No tea making facilities location not great
It was clean and the staff were very helpful
The bed was rock hard, i was even tempted to try out the floor to see if that was better. We didnt get much sleep and both woke up with bad backs
location is not that bad (considering you can leave the car there - 4£ a day) as you can reach the docks in 25min walk. Room wasn't too big, but for the price can't ask for more.
Not much really (maybe the car park could be free), and the breakfast expensive for what it is (10£ continental)
Great location for the price, pretty clean rooms and lobby.
Not exactly bad experience, just very small rooms. What you would expect from a budget hotel.
The price was very good for what we had the location was close to the city center and room offered exactly what we needed.
Plugs to far from the bed haha apart from that it was fine
The location was ideal for town centre and Cardiff Bay.Some of the staff were friendly and helpful.
Tea & coffee available in rooms also a hairdryer would of been nice.Breakfast we passed on as didnt look appertising tinned fruit etc.
Small shower and small toilet area, window didn't seem to close fully so the noise from outside was clearly heard
The friendly staff and cleanliness of my room. The bed was very comfortable and the room was basic but bright and perfect for the nature of my trip to Cardiff.
The free Wi-Fi is brilliant and the staff were more than helpful and printed my boarding passes for me free of charge. They also provided taxi details and directions. Not always with a smile but not important, job was always done!
The bed. Seriously, I am not high maintenance but the rock hard thin bed I had on floor 4 was awful. I assume the hotel has the same double beds throughout the entire hotel so didn't ask to move. But the bed was so awful had to sleep on top of duvet just to have an extra layer underneath. I also was not allowed late check out because the hotel was busy - fair enough. Although Friday night the hotel was full of drunk men and women. Selling alcohol in reception leads to a lot of pre- drinking which then turns a simple walk through reception into getting yelled at, sung to, touched etc.
Security guy had good banter and they allowed music to go on past 11
The showers, 1 bed between 2, 2 coat hangers not allowed visitors
The staff were very helpful and friendly. The bed was comfy and the room was clean. Only about a 15 minute walk from the train station and shopping centre etc.
No kettle in the room, not good after a 5 hour journey. Also, there was a lot of noise which made the room rattle, waking me up multiple times during the night. It would also be better if the sink and shower were in a separate bathroom as it is quite uncomfortable having to shower on the bedroom. Also, my shower door didn't close.
Staff were helpful & room was clean, tidy & new
parking limited, next to main road
No coffee facilities in room
location good value clean
beds are hard
CHEAP AND CHEERFUL
Every single inch of the room was planned to make the most of the space. A family room for 2 adults and 2 child (one of them is under 3 so had to sleep in the double bed with us, but is planned and is fine) was a double queen size bed with a bunk bed on the top. That was not that bad but in general the room was very small. We were fine, at all, nice staff would complete the one-night-stay. Anyway is a budget hotel, you cannot ask more
The payment required for the car park. Anyway was just 4 pounds, not that much. The worst thing is that they cannot assure the place for the car even if you paid if you leave the hotel. I suppose that a good improve would be "not sell any other place if you don't have enough space".
Location is ideal if your looking for a busy time shopping in the capital.
Room was clean and comfortable.
Only downfall for me was no kettle to make a hot drink in room.
The location was good. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
The room was ok for the price but the shower had a see through door and the toilet was located in a tiny room where the door didn't shut properly. Since I was with a friend and. A 13 yr old I found this highly inappropriate, as the shower door was straight onto the bedroom and others would have a full view of those showering.
Good location & clean room small but adequate
Noisey guests, unfriendly looking staff, hard bed , continental breakfast
It was clean and I did appreciate the fact that the room was ensuite. The free WiFi was a great bonus.
There were no tea/coffee making facilities and although there is a machine it isn't quite the same. I am not sure the shower being in the room is a good feature, perhaps inappropriate.
Location and excellent free wifi
No tea-making stuff in room - available downstairs from machine at £1.50 a pop but hot water free. Who wants to go downstairs into public area in pyjamas for first or last cuppa of the day. Also no hairdryer - essential for shower exit surely?! Continental breakfast cost an extra £5. If McD can do hot for £3.25 why not Ibis budget - they manage pizza in evenings? Even if they took orders for delivery from McDonalds that would be better. Also although busstop outside no frequent service to rail station?? 10 minute walk away yes for able bodied but if like me you have mobility problems which made it a 35 minute walk - not so good. Taxi around £5 from station.
Basic, but comfortable and great staff
Bathroom is actually split into three in the room and whilst travelling solo it's fine but when with others not so
