Score from 1502 reviews Fabulous
Cups of tea in foyer expensive. Breakfast food only average.
The rooms were adequate, the staff were friendly, accommodating & very helpful with directions around the city
Could have had better shelving to place cases on
Wifi and telling good , breakfast was good
The three tiny towels for two of us were unacceptable , plus one was badly stain. The fire exit door was next to our room and was used by smokers. The entrance to our room smelt of stale cigarettes. The air conditioning didn't work. The room was too hot.
I like closeness to town
didn't like the breakfast Some food was cold. the bar too dear not enough towels
The hotel was well located in the city center. It was clean and the staff were helpful and friendly
The street location was near a lot of things you could walk to.
Our room backed to a busy railroad track. Room was extremely hot and the top cover was a heavy blanket in a sheet bag. Friday night there was a wild party going on in th hotel well past 2AM. We sure didn't get much sleep 2 nights in a row!
Car park reasonably close to hotel
Trains passing at night
Room was comfortable, and clean, the bathroom was a good size, and the shower was really good. The breakfast was good for the money as there was plenty of choice. The hotel is in walking distance to the town and not that far from Cardiff Bay if you like to have a walk out.
I would have liked a proper tea spoon in the room. rather than a plastic one. Also could do with drawer space, I relies there was shelf space in open wardrobe but some things you like to put in draws.
Close to city centre
The staffs attitude . They were helpful and respectful and went out of their way to explain directions.
It was a little difficult to find from the town centre the first day. The walk to the cricket stadium was long.
The rooms were very clean and comparable. 5 min walk from the city center, 10 min walk from Cardiff castle Good service
Heat of room
close to city centre
quite noisy as next to train line, guests may wish to take ear plugs Room had a funny smell almost like strong tea.
The room carpet was so filthy I could not take my shoes off and when I did it was damp. This was the second room I was offered as the first room was cold and damp. I have bad asthma and recommend anyone with chest problems should not stay here.
Location, staff friendly, cheap, if you just want somewhere to lay your head after a night on the town this hotel is for you.
Very noisy, awful bed - bedding felt damp, very basic. Wouldn't spend more than one night here.
The bed was very big and comfortable. The shower was also better than most I've come across.
Location - very handy for university; helpful staff; good breakfast.
Some noise from the railway track running at the back of the hotel.
The hotel was fine - clean suffering a bit from age. It was in a good location. Staff were helpful.
I would rather pay for wifi and have decent reception. It was really poor and wifi is too crucial to be so poor in a city.
from previous experince of Ibis hotels, this stay was quite satisfactory - BUT -
Road access not very car friendly. Details - like only having one water glass for two people one night and none the next night was thoughtless.
Clean room which was very good value and great locality to the university a short walk away.
We stayed in a twin room. These beds were the smallest beds I've ever seen ! Really uncomfortable mattress - I was in agony for 2 days after 1 night in that bed !
Good central location, 5 minute walk from city centre and right on the doorstep of the Motorpoint arena. Good size room, good facilities
Decor was very dated, the place smelled like chlorine (though I can think of worse things it could've smelled of)
Noise from the bar opposite my room
Stayed for one night in august with group of friends. Found check in process very swift staff friendly and courteous. Hotel located centre of Cardiff close to train station which was perfect. Rooms clean and comfortable with tea and coffee making facilities. Beds extremely comfortable had no trouble getting to sleep even though looked out onto train track. Breakfast was lovely and reasonably priced. In summary excellent hotel in central location good value for money
The room was clean and comfortable. Really close to city center.
It is close to train station, so you can hear the train when they pass. But it was not bothering for me.
