Bed really comfortable. Friendly, helpful staff. Amazing location. Good breakfast.
We were lucky to have a room at the back of the hotel so it was quiet apart from the ghost tour which was very loud at about 10pm. Key card kept failing (3 times) but staff were lovely getting it sorted. Need new technology for door locks!
Excellent location off Royal Mile but still quiet. Comfiest bed we have ever slept in and we've stayed in Hilton's. Staff friendly .
Bit overpriced for hotel, but we did stay when Fringe was on.
the design layout,simplicity,decor.
...and good for either a short or long stay in Edinburgh, the hotel's location is perfect for a visit to the city, buffet breakfast was good, the bed comfy and the room quiet.
The fact that the third floor could be reached with only one of the 2 elevators lead to some funny moments sending the other empty one up just to get ours down )
Outstanding location. Superb staff, helpful and courteous. Good breakfast buffet. Fair price at Festival time (no gouging). Comfortable and clean. Availability of complimentary newspaper.
Had difficulty getting onto the internet, buit staff was very helpful in solving this.
The hotel was in an excellent position for both, although if you want quiet this is not the hotel for you during August. The staff were friendly and helpful, the hotel basic but adequate, would stay here again. The eat all you want breakfast was great value for money.
Would have liked toast for breakfast but informed toaster broken and not fixed or replaced during our two night stay.
Location of this hotel is unbelievable! This modern hotel is not, itself, an eyesore among the very old buildings off the Royal Mile. Sound proof glazing was very effective, at the height of the Fringe Festival, when we stayed.
Old sash-cord windows are lovely but these could not be opened. The room was very warm and the heating system has a label saying 'this is not air conditioning'.
Breakfast was excellent and the location was very good.
Expensive in comparison to other big city hotels we have stayed in during our travels.
Excellent central location Friendly and attentive reception staff Good breakfast choice (apart from one day) Comfortable beds
Only one toaster at breakfast and on the second morning it was broken so, with a restricted diet when toast was my only option I was out of luck that day as apparently the kitchen was unable to toast bread! Shower doors have a gap at the bottom so water splashes out over bathroom floor.
What the room did not have, was readily provided upon asking. Staff were very helpful. Location is excellent, excellent, excellent - I would go back for that alone.
No iron in room. Wi-fi was unreliable. Dirty cups were not removed/changed for Day 2 of our stay. No hand towels provided.
comfortable bed quiet room excellent decour staff very polite and helpful
they need a new toaster for breakfasts
Great central location with good facilities.
Reception staff excellent Position good, cleanliness, warmth and general comfort fine.
Breakfast arrangements - staff in this area stressed and distressed, by job and showing it. That's top down management failure. Repeated requests for baked beans, not a difficult thing surely, just weren't dealt with. Toaster, which was supposedly fixed only a few days earlier still not working - can Ibis Hotels not afford a decent toaster? We were not alone in feeling put out.
Perfect central location Friendly staff Comfy beds Spotlessly clean
Expensive for what it was, but Fringe prices Had to pay to store bags! Noisy air conditioning
location, the staff were very pleasant and helpful.
Location and quiet
Steps from the lift to our room staff could have sent us another way bit longer no steps
It seems like they overbook on purpose and then send guests to their other hotel. We didn't say anything when it happened to us the first night we stayed (a total of 4 rooms). But when they tried to do the same thing in our second time ( when we came back to the hotel after 3 days) it became clear that they do this regulary and as a strategy. We even asked the first time whether this will happen in our next stay 3 days they assured us and said no. Well, when we came back it was the same thing. When we objected they said they didn't have any rooms, when we objected more strongly they tried to convince us one more time, anyway afer the third time they said we shouldn't yell and miracously found our rooms. When we were checking in they were doing the same thing to other guests. I think they accept also reservations for their other hotel without saying that it is for the other hotel. At the time of the check in they kind of impose and force the other hotel.
Location, quiet, staff good, it's a Ibis
Wifi very slow, do not have breakfast. It's an Ibis
room was tiny
Lovely hotel, great location. Staff very helpful, hotel very clean. Would not hesitate to stay here again.
Enjoyed clean and comfortable rooms. Conveniently located off the Royal Mile. Surprisingly quiet for a good nights rest. Extremely polite and efficient staff.
Liked everything about the place.
excellent location and being on top/6th floor with views of Arthur's Seat fantastic also quieter at night as room at the back so also gave bonus of views of fireworks over Castle..... room well cleaned/tidied every day and comfy bed (although only one spare pillow in double room as usual - we often have to ask for 2nd one in many hotels!) lift was always quick to arrive
really narrow hanging and shelf depth space for clothes... far too mean! neither of our room keys worked on 4th night but reception not very sympathetic when we reported it, effectively making us feel rather inadequate
The location cannot be better. The staff is great. Good breakfast. Very clean.
Room was not too big.
Good location offering easy access to any local place of interest.
