The staff were helpful and friendly but far tooo busy with reception bar and food to deal with!!! The location was great, the breakfast was good. Matress and pillows toooo thin!! was put off asking reception staff for drinks etc as they were so busy!! unfairly busy!! Thought the hotel could have been a little cleaner and not sooo budget as we paid a increased price due to it being tattoo time in edinburgh. Hate the fact that rates are increased during these times so soddam and gommorah!! greedy and we did not receive anything extra......

Great location!!!! You can easily walk to everything. Also the staff was extremely helpful...even loaned me an adaptor for my hair straightener. Would definately stay again Well...aside from the fact Edinburgh was a more expensive city than we're used to, the price for the hotel was pretty steep - but this could be understandable due to the fact its basically on the Royal Mile. But the bed was terrible - we kept making jokes that we were going to start sleeping on the floor by the 3rd night. So for paying what we did we hoped for a nicer bed...but all in all that was the only real downside. So, the good definately outways the bad.

Good location next to the Royal Mile. I was taken by surprise upon check-in when reception staff informed me that they would not accept my A-Club loyalty card because I had booked my room through Booking.com. This led to a longish discussion - and staff was extremely inflexible. The point with a loyality card is to be awarded points when you stay in certain hotels. Where you book your room should not matter. Although no big thing, this was still a disappointment which will make me consider other hotels than ibis in the future. Also, I paid a steep £9.99 for Internet access in my room, but the connection was slow and at one point I had to call staff to my room the get it fixed. Free high spedd wifi should be standard, even in a "no-frills" hotel like Ibis. The breakfast felt overpriced at £7.50. Most of the food was wrapped in plastic or cardboard. I have stayed in other IBIS hotels where the morning buffet have been more tempting. I guess I should have opted for breakfast in a local café instead. All in all, IBIS Edinburgh was OK, but still I have had much better experiences in IBIS hotels elsewhere.

Location Room too small, no view from window, no free wifi, Pay for tv channels, have stayed in better hostels than this hotel with free wifi and tv. Ibis in Nuremberg was very nice and expected same in Edinburgh. 2 of our friends had to sleep in the same bed as no singles available. Won't use again! by the time you pay for wifi and tv you could have stated in better more expensive hotel.

Friendly service generally (though had an experience with staff member who couldn't provide directions to local attraction). Excellent shower. Spacious room, bathroom on the small side but still good. Great value for money. Instructions to get (chargeable) wifi in room did not work - lan cable connection (also chargeable) good though. Breakfast is not included.

Great central location and good budget hotel. Will stay again Parking always an issue in edinburgh-wld be excellent if the hotel could make an arrangement with Edin council to be able to buy parking permits from hotel reception rather than going out to car on 3 occasions and still getting a parking ticket from zealous parking metee attendants.
