The buffet was excellent, the staff very helpful and overall the room was decent. No frills, but clean and better than others at the same price. The location was perfect, right in the middle of everything.
I found the hard pillows made for a slightly uncomfortable sleep, but that wouldn't stop me from staying there again.
This hotel is a perfect base for doing the Royal Mile. The room is very efficient and is kept in top condition by the room service staff.
The view from the window is very dull.
Wifi very poor
Beds, cleanliness, location location location
Poor air quality control--very hot and stuffy, which made it impossible to sleep well. The whole Planet 21 thing gave me the creeps. Sustainable....uh huh. If you're going to name your Agenda after something that's meant to control population, you could at least give it a less obvious name.
Great for getting to places in all directions very easily
The location is perfect. The room is not luxury, of course, but it is very clean and comfortable.
The hotel only provides two towels in bathroom.
Location was close to so many attractions.
The management has a poor attitude and the cleaning staff did not perform well.
everything clean, comfy bed, great view, perfect location
furniture a bit battered, bathroom door broken
The location of this hotel is ideal for visiting the Old Town, it is very handy for the transport systems (which are very good in Edinburgh) and it is not too far from Princes Street etc. The hotel is clean, comfortable and the staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfasts are comprehensive and can set you up for a day of sightseeing.
I really get annoyed with people who do not use the system to remove their breakfast things from the tables. This is a budget hotel and therefore run with minimal staff - if people don't tidy up after themselves the staff have to run around like headless chickens clearing up so that people can eat breakfast in comfort - this being to the detriment of the replacement of breakfast items not only food but crockery.
No toilet lid staff communication poor..held a parcel visa ...without telling me for 24 hrs
central location near attractions
Needs better signage of location from the rail station, Hotel staff at breakfast trying hard to keep up with demand but not enough working only 2 staff on while about 4 on reception some standing around doing nothing, also on arrival there are 2 lifts to the floors . We were told we could only get 1 lift as the other one would not get us to our floor so every time we had to send the other lift away so we could get up. And we had dirty sheets in our bed on arrival.
the friendly staff nothing seemed to be too much for them to handle. The location is superb for any visitor. Free wifi a bonus (was not looking for it). Breakfast was well presented with a good choice.
small complaint it was a typical layout for Ibis ( but expect that)
Everything!! Amazing location, helpful staff, they stored our luggage for the afternoon before we left Edinburgh, loved it!
Nothing- was all great!
VERY HELPFULL AND FRIENDLY STAFF
generally very nice
lot's of street noise, can't be helped
put in inside room below a glass covered area, even with fan, very stuffy, could only cool room to 78, staff could hardly care, or provide solution, never stay again in such a place
Friendliness of the staff, location, great value.
The beds were rock hard. Our view from our room was lacking but the view we had as soon as we left our room more then made up for it.
Facilities suitable for a central city hotel, with helpful staff who were very efficient.
Nothing but only stayed for one night.
Being close to the Royal Mile and lots of restaurants, although the outlook was dreadful.
The price ie almost £900 for 2 double rooms for 2 nights, and then having to pay an additional sum to store our luggage. Shabby rooms with greyish white bed linen and big stains on the carpet. Windows had additional glass frontage to the bay.which was dangerous,no warning .
Location, you are right in the thick of it. Good security.
Can be noisy at night because of the location . Needed to pay extra to upgrade the wifi.
The location is good, quite near to the station and also near to lots of famous attraction. The bathroom is clean and nice.
The facilities seems too old. The wifi is very slow that I can't even load any youtube video. The bad is horrible because it's actually made by two beds and in the middle of the bed, there is a gap which made my back painful when I sleep on it. Moreover, there are some weird smell in the room. Power point is not enough. Also, the breakfast is very expensive, but you actually did not have much to eat.
The location was wonderful and having a room in the back guaranteed a quiet night's sleep. The room was more spacious than most UK hotel rooms.
The bed had a very firm mattress, which made it difficult to be comfortable all night.
This hotel is in an exceptional location for the city centre of Edinburgh. The room although very basic was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was self service and good value for money. The décor in reception and restaurant/bar area is very upmarket and tasteful.
