Reasonable value but seems to be better when booked well in advance.

We were given an accessible room which meant that the 'wet room' was covered with water after a shower.

Could do with a small table for kettle.

Very decent hotel that is just across the exit of the Aldgate East tube station. Makes it convenient to move around. Although no free wifi. Overall, a decent stay for us.

Upon arrival the hotel claimed that the booking of me and my 2 colleagues had been "cancelled". An obvious lie, since a taxi was already arranged to take us to Blackfriars for 1 night. Anyway, at least it wasn't charged.

That I had to wait 15 minutes to pay for breakfast. Only 1 girl was working at the desk. It was the same in the bar in the evening. Only 1 girl working in the bar. Waiting, waiting.

The bed was comfy, the room was great with an interesting view across the city. Tea/Coffee available along with a hairdryer, always useful. Bathroom was funky/bizarre however one of the best showers I have ever had. Breakfast was great although at £9 a little top heavy.

No iron and the loo didn't flush that well.

Bed was comfortable and once use to the pod showeroom it worked well

Had to go down 5 floors to a laundry room to iron my shirts - they don't provide irons/ironing boards in your room Surrounding area is more east end than city so can be a little intimidating after dark

It was near the Underground station, good and central lokation.

I didn't receive an answer to my e-mail that I sent before our trip. Also to a FAX with the same request, I didn't receive an answer. Even a "Yes" or "No" I would have expected.

The bathroom was clean

I asked for a standard room and got a room with double bed and also with a pull-out single bed that could not be retracted and no suggestion of an alternate. There was no chair in the room There was no desk in the room There was no luggage rack or anywhere to place a suitcase apart from on the spare (unwanted) bed. The only accessible power point was tucked behind the unwanted bed. The desk staff did not seem to be at all interested. A simple request for decaf coffee or tea was met with a blank stare and a suggestion that I walk to a shop around the corner and buy some. A request the next morning as to the location of the nearest Post Office resulted in a reply indicating that it was just around the corner - it was but was 0.9 mile down the road - resulting in an almost half hour return walk.

The kitchen / waiting staff was challenged by the number of people at breakfast time.

Convenient for our visit to London to watch the London Marathon and catch up with relations. Adjacent to Underground station to facilitate travel.

Unfortunately demolition of a block of flats /offices was being undertaken with appropriate noise on the Friday when we arrived, but quiet on the Saturday and Sunday. However the noise had resumed on the Monday morning, but we left soon afterwards. However, with further demolition and buildings to replace, this will no doubt continue for a few years yet.

I was pleasantly surprised being used to staying in (so called) more exclusive brand hotels. I was a late evening arrival and evrything was easy and the room was comfortable.

Breakfast lay out was a bit confusing, mainly because I was looking for a table that had been laid. No problem but a bit of guidance might have been helpful, a brief explanation of the arrangements would have been good.

This is for London a very good choice: clean, comfortable rooms, good beds, good bathroom, soundproof. And we also liked the location: next to the newer buildings of the City, as well as near to Brick Lane, Petticoat Lane.

Great location, lovely helpful staff, nice reception area & bar/restaurant. Definitely quality for money.

Bed wasn't very comfy. Had a mattress topper on it. Sheets weren't best quality.
