Location very good for the ferry crossing
None all good
Location ideal for visitors to historic port. Excellent food both in the evening and breakfast, courteous and helpful staff. Secure parking. Clean, quiet and comfortable.
The bathroom was far too small for my husband. Both the space in front of the toilet and the shower were almost unusable by his 6ft 4inch frame. We could hear other guests in the corridor late in the evening.
Staff in general were very pleasant but a Spanish barmaid went out of her way to accommodate us.
The space, cleanliness and amenable environment.
Paying for the parking on site
Keep awake all night with noise from university And I mean all night from 9pm till 7.3o I hope they felt as bad as we did
LOCATION, STAFF, BREAKFASTS.
QUITE NOISY LATE INTO THE NIGHT. THOUGHT TOTAL PACKAGE WAS QUITE EXPENSIVE. IE PARKING 7 BREAKFAST BEING EXTRA COSTS.
The position of the hotel was great. Right in the town centre and convenient for the international ferry port. Polite, efficient staff and very good facilities. Free wifi excellent. Quality of food very good. Excellent value for the price.
The only negative thing I found was the level of noise outside the hotel during the night, which kept me awake. The hotel is in the student area and the nights I stayed their noise went on all night until 4 or 5 am. This could be down to it being freshers week, but the noise from the street below from the youngsters on their nights out was extremely loud.
Disappointed that the shower did not wok properly. No power and unable to adjust the temperature. Considering changing hotels on my next visit to Portsmouth. Regards Phil Mullis
The room was clean and staff very cautious. It's close the the centre hence no need for cab.
A clean bright hotel room which was an adequate size with a very comfy bed and the spacious shower was excellent. Clean fluffy towels. Within easy walking distance of city centre and railway station and on a bus route. There was a heater which we didn't need as the weather was good, tea and coffee making facilities which the front desk topped up, and a hair dryer. Didn't eat in the restaurant.
Bathroom was a bit tight at the loo end. Hanging space was difficult to access and there was no drawer space. Only one chair and it was utilitarian. No hand towels.
ground floor/ bar area/ food great/ staff very good/ parking good
Rooms tired and basic
everything was fine but
the water was tooooooooooooo hot, and hard to control in the shower.
I stay quite regularly so I do vote with my feet! The hotel is well-situated, for my needs, comfortable and welcoming. The cleaning Staff always ensure my room is well cleaned. The breakfasts are good value for money.
There was a difficulty in accessing an outside telephone line from my room. So, for the duration of my 5 night stay, I was reliant on public telephones to 'phone home (France). I was offered the use of the Reception phone but felt that this was a bit too 'public'. Being a non-techie, the Wifi always baffles me slightly, but perhaps that's me not you!
The location of this hotel is really good, easy walking distance to Gunwarf Quays shopping, Portsmouth Dockyard and the city centre. The hotel staff friendly and helpful. Rooms clean and adequate.
Bathroom was small. Only one small towel per person. Beds quite small.
Room was clean, modern, small but quite efficient and comfortable. Bathroom very up to date. Queen bed and hair dryer in room. Take bus to the Harbour, (the Hard) to save energy!
Room a bit warm, windows barely opened, and very noisy, very late into each night, due to some sort of street event several blocks over, probably an unusual thing.
Bed was very comfortable, check in and out easy, staff friendly, room was quiet, good TV choices. Located close to station and to the place I needed to be.
Bathroom was tiny, had to move bin to use toilet it was so cramped. Like a cupboard under the stairs with a shower and toilet in it. Breakfast was very average.
Suitable place to live and its easier to find a location of the hotel. Staff was so pleasant and friendly to help. I am very much impressed. I would like to visit again near the date.
Location, facilities and buffet breakfast were good. Staff were all polite, helpful and respectful.
Bathroom was a very tight fit. Would be almost impossible for an obese person. Would have liked a fridge in the room.
No free parking
Interior design Good staff Small but excellent room
Staff were helpful, professional and friendly
We could have been unlucky the night we spent here but the outside noise was very disruptive.
The best thing about this hotel is your staff. Reception, Bar Cleaners all have time for the guest, and do there work with a smile. It was a pleasure to stay there.
The room I was in could do with a make over, but having said that it was clean and comfortable.
We were told that check out was mid-day. That sounded good. We out the night before and got in the early hours of the morning, hoping to get up around 10.30. To my horror, the door knocked at 08.40 and not only upset my sleep pattern, but spoilt my day, due to the lack of sleep :-(
