The closeness to the station
Have stayed many times at this ibis hotel , it's good value for money It's central to reading for shops train links and bars Nice and clean friendly staff
Was disappointed that we had 1 tea bag and what appeared to be pubic hair in the shower, this was just to get our head down for a few hours on way home from the airport.
Clean and immaculate room. Neutral, contemporary decor. Fantastic shower. Proximity to station.
On arrival the reception staff could have been more welcoming. On leaving, they didn't make any attempt to ask how the stay had been. Domestic staff, on the other hand, were friendly & courteous.
There was a power failure while I was there and I was alone in the middle of the night. It turned pitch dark in the room and corridors! I somehow managed to gather my guts and climbed down the stairs 14 floors! And at the reception the staff retort was we cant help it..not our fault.! Cant describe the feeling of despair and helplessness at being stuck alone in a dark hotel room in a strange country!
Bar area not the best!
The day staff were not helpfull. Too young and inexpierenced and did not speak or understand good English. Very dissappointing.
Bed very comfy , great shower, central location
A walk away to the bars, pubs and shopping
No parking on site. We parked round the corner in the multi storey and paid. Couldn't find the parking that cost £10 as stated on the descrption. We paid more
centrally located near the bus and rail station ,the hotel was well insulated and no noise was heard from inside the room! staff were friendly and efficient,
Extremely, extremely helpful and polite staff - the young men on reception on Saturday night should be bottled and sold on. Their patience was outstanding.
Coming in late at night and not knowing the area was daunting. Roadworks made finding IBIS very difficult and the number of nightclubs in the area meant that there were a lot of bouncers around. Quiet rowdy outside.
The facilities and room was good as a hotel should be
The customer service was really bad from the moment we walked in. No one to greet us (even though) there was someone standing at the reception. We were just ignored until someone else came out to help with the check in. No explanation of the hotel facilities.
Breakfast was WONDERFUL
It was in the ideal spot for the function we where going to on the Friday night. would go again no problem.
Lift was a bit of a pain.

Really well located if travelling by train as only just round the corner. The staff were really helpfull.
Location and staff
I booked a family room with booking.com but only got a double room as hotel told me that it didn't come up on their system from booking.com that I had requested a family room.
Reception staff was very friendly. The hotel is right at the city centre. Very quiet rooms and comfortable bed. Had a great sleep!
Room was relatively clean but there was a big stain on the carpet! Some of the towels had faint marks/stains on them which means that they were not adequately cleaned. Hotel is a bit tired with the exception of the reception area.
Arrived to a local power cut, torches were provided, staff were exceptional at handling this, every need catered for
Room was a little stuffy
Very close to the rail stations (this was the main reason for booking this hotel) and shopping area. The room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast well worth the money.
The location and room rates
The beds too small , and very noisy we couldnt sleep
