Score from 1378 reviews Very good
The accommodation was very clean and although the the rooms were on the small side they were perfectly adequate for a short stay of a night or two. The breakfast was not bad at all for the price. The bed was comfy and the shower was powerful. The location was very good, close to shops and restaurants.
Nothing to speak off
The exorbitant cost of getting a cup of tea from the same machine used for breakfast in the reception area during the evening.
Very clean helpfull friendly staff good location everything you needed in your room.
Central and easy to get to city centre and theatre. Sparkling clean. Great value. The chap on reception was uber quick at checking us in and out. Check in at 12, check out at 12 much more convenient than usual 3pm check in and 10am check out. Especially useful with a hangover....
drinks at the bar much too expensive.
cleanliness of all areas friendly helpful staff good value for money good location
car parking fees
the curtains did not close properly and did not block out the light found it very annoying.
Perfect for a short stay, excellent value for money.
Food could be better
The hotel was reasonably priced, central, clean and staff were all very polite and helpful. Definately value for money
beds comfortable 5 mins walk to train station (once you know the way)
too warm in room. could not adjust temperature downwards and fan too loud at night. no bin in bedroom so you have to take all your rubbish eg when making tea to the bathroom. difficult to find from train station as not obvious how to get there on foot.
Location was great, only a five minute walk into the shopping centre.
Staff excluding one were polite and courteous, the blonde chamber maid made no effort to offer any kind of greeting and didn't smile throughout our whole trip - nevermind worse things happen at sea!
Room good size for my use Friendly staff
internet connection kept breaking
Stayed one night before cruise. Short walk from railway station and convenient for port. Very friendly lady served our meal in the restaurant.
Near to Train station so easy to travel to/from Airport or nearby towns for shopping etc. Around the corner from Mayflower Theatre and within walking distance of West Quay, Marlands etc for shopping. Reception very busy but efficient. All staff very friendly and helpful.
Room was a small double size so only about 4 inches between 2 single beds. Had to move 1 bed across room next to desk to ensure own space! Comfy beds though. Room quite warm even in December but windows can be opened. Fan would be available if required. Breakfast not as extensive as Premier Inn but adequate.
Location Nearby facilities Breakfast Comfy bed
Car park charge
It was a VERY clean room. And reception area. Didn't use the bar/restaurant. And they did extend my parking after I complained about the heating in the room.
Room heating was set at 23.5!!! Which you can't change in the room!! Only the fan speed could be changed. And we couldn't leave windows open as we were on the 1st floor directly above the smoking area. When I enquired at the front desk about the heating. I was informed that all they could do was give me a fan. IF they had one!! 1- the heating needs to be changeable by yourself in the room! 2- the smoking area should be located at the side of the building. Where there are no windows for rooms dire try above! To be honest I did find it funny that the smoking area was located next to the front door. 3 metres from a sign saying that it was an offence to smoke in the hotel premises!!
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a convenient location. The bed was very comfortable.
Felt the room needed a bit of TLC. The switch on the kettle was sticky, there were marks on the headboard and the carpet looked as if it needed a good clean. The food wasn't very good in the evening or breakfast - it had been hanging around and not cooked to order.
Food options were good, staff very good, standards over good.
Excellent location for theatre. Clean and comfortable Staff helpful and friendly
The room was too hot and we were unable to adjust this. Unfortunately our room was also quite noisy possibly due to being near the main air conditioning units. We would ask to change rooms had we stayed longer than one night.
Used this hotel prior to joining a cruise ship. Good location for shops, bars and access to the dock. It was a small room but adequate. Bed linen was very nice.
The staff not communicating with each other, one staff member saying one thing and another saying different, overall thou good stay!
Breakfast not very good
Very close to the station a and shopping centre which is what we came for. We were able to leave our luggage there for the day before departure which was great
Expensive breakfast, specially with a McDonald's next door!
very suitable for the purpose
Bit surprised at being charged extra (£6)for parking my car.
