Good location and good price, staff were fab
Only the location. I use IBIS hotels 15-20 nights a year and this is the worst one I have been in. I accept it is an old building but the IBIS brand and quality should be maintained.
No skirting boards in hallways Room door was stiff Basin liquid soap dispenser dirty Several hairs in shower tray Only two small towels Bed mattress was very solid Asked for a quiet room and was given one 1st floor on a busy road. Wouldn't accept my accor card Not recommended
It was nice and clean
The lack of towels and people running around knocking on doors in the middle of the night!
Nice friendly staff, great location, beds comfy, rooms clean and toilet/bathroom clean. All in all would use this hotel again as very good value for money paid although needs redecorating. Stayed 3 nights and got breakfast nearby so were able to take our time in the morning, no rushing, good!
hotel very grubby looking but in the process of being upgraded so hopefully will improve it. No heating in rooms but a fan heater if you needed it. Would still use hotel again though as our room was clean.
Τhe Location was good, very near the city centre.
The room was not clean (especially the carpet flooring) and it smelled really bad just when we entered. Humidity issues existed on the Shower ceiling and also a smell of mold in the WC basin. The extractor fan of the bathroom was out of order. Very bad sound insulation between the rooms and the floors. Due to the above (especially due to the cleaning issues) we did not even try the breakfast or the hotel bar. Generally it was a very poor experience, despite that Ibis in very near the city centre.
Bed was comfortable and the TV worked!
Noisy throughout the night - both inside and outside - only managed 4 hours sleep. Car Park lights shined through the windows all night. Room not cleaned or serviced properly serviced. Shower ran hot, then cold. Telephone didn't work. (also poor mobile reception). Entire hotel drab, dreary and in desperate need of a refurbishment.
a comfortable hotel within close and easy reach of the station and the city sights.
Friendly staff, nice location, nice rooms
Could not open window in room so it was a bit too hot and stuffy.
basic hotel, good location
first time I've ever had to pay to leave my bag after checking out - £2
Rooms poor standard had better quality at a bed & breakfast
The room was lovely and clean, plenty of spare pillows and towels. We took one of our cats with us and we left him in the room during the day while we went out to do a bit of sightseeing and shopping. He was lovely and relaxed when we got back which meant he was enjoying the stay just as much as us. We put a do not disturb on the door each day and the staff were respectful of the fact he was alone in the room and was nervous of people. We loved our stay, the location was perfect and the staff couldn't be more helpful. We would highly recommend staying there and look forward to staying there again next year.
Breakfast good choice of food staff very helpful and very polite value for money hotel
Hotel is getting refurb carpet in the room was missing at the door and toilet pan leaked as did shower
Seating area in room and great shower
About 25 car parking spaces so a you had to get in quick
Location, town centre bus route outside. Excellent size room ,well equipped, tele, tea and coffee hair-dryer good size bathroom with space and good lighting. friendly and helpful staff. Car parking though limited is very useful and saves a lot of money.
Breakfast could be better, buffet breakfasts are not the best due to the time they are waiting under heat lamps and I feel fresh eggs could be used. Also a better evening menu would improve things. But on the whole I will certainly use this hotel again.
Comfy bed and nice big room. Excellent breakfast and pleasant staff. Great location, walking distance from station.
Condition of stairways, corridors and carpets was poor which didn't fill me with confidence. Carpet very worn, so people walking up and down was very loud. Bring earplugs!
The location was good
The rooms and corridors needed a re-paint and were very tatty. The staff didn't remove dirty plates from our table in the bar despite it being empty. When we complained about the cleanliness of the room the staff didn't seem bothered
large comfy bed, clean room, spare pillow, good tv reception. decent priced bar and friendly staff.
my only gripe....no teaspoons to stir my morning cuppa, but isnt that the second use for a pen so no big problem.
Decor in need of some attention, particularly in the corridors etc Shower gel/shampoo dispenser is outside the shower!
Brilliant location, the bar opening times were great, the fire in the bar was amazing and the staff were very pleasant and helpful
The mattress was a but hard so we didn't get a great nights sleep, apart from that everything was brilliant at this hotel
everything is OK except the wifi
please enhance the internet speed
The staff were very friendly and always happy to help. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Our room was clean and the comfort of the bed was superb. Bathroom was clean and modern. Food was excellent.
The only downside was that when we went down for breakfast at 8.30am on the Monday there were no eggs. When we asked about this we were just told 'there are no eggs'. This spoilt what, up until then, had been a lovely stay. I would still recommend this hotel though.
Location and price. Breakfast at £8 good value, although a little crowded and had to wait for hot buffet to be restocked
shower temperature inconsistent.
we were in a disabled room and everything was spot on.very good
the room could do with an armchair ,after being out most of the day,we spent the evenings watching tv,we had to sit on the bed,not very comfy after a few hours.
Just a walk away from centre of york
having to pay £2 to leave our case on checkout until our train was due
