Location, very helpful staff (young man during the day and gentleman on the evening)
The comfort, both had a poor night sleep. Lumpy pillows and mattress not comfy, could be one off as this was not the case last year
location, friendly staff
Room next door,noisy clients
Very close too York centre
Parking at the hotel very poor
Room in general. Really needs painting and cracks in walls filled properly. Just looks run down. Loose socket on floor
Very close to the railway station and the town
Carpark.not enough spaces.
Staff was excellent
Location, Staff, cleanliness of Hotel. When all the work is done it will be ideal for a base for a Budget Hotel.
We arrived early, but the staff were very helpful and allowed us to book in early. They provided us with a map and were helpful with directions. The lounge and bar areas were very comfortable and modern. The bedrooms were basic, but the beds were comfortable and clean. The rooms were warm and Tea coffee and biscuits provided.
The rooms need to be updated eg carpet and curtains, but signs around the hotel showed that this was actually in progress. The wi fi connection was poor and it would have been nice to have a waste basket in the bedroom and not just in he bathroom.
clean comfortable and near city centre
Staff - helpful and friendly. Showers - hot and strong Location On site parking
Tiny double bedroom - barely space to walk round the bed
Location very good for city. Free parking. Bed comfortable.
Shower temperature a bit "hit and miss" Bathroom floor like an ice rink when wet.
Good location and free parking.
Have stayed several times but we were badly disturbed in the night by idiots running up and down the corridor banging on doors for no apparent reason. Didn't get a good nights sleep Friday.
The hotel was an excellent choice, great value for money, excellent staff, very clean, I can't think of one complaint. York itself is only a 5 minute walk away, also the railway station is about the same distance away. Go to York centre in the early evening to see the christmas markets, it starts to go dark and the city looks very pretty lit up with christmas lights, very Dickensian. We had a marvellous 4 day break. We got lost in the City a couple of times but every time we whipped out a map a local would appear offering help. We met some lovely people. I went with my mum who struggles to walk but she loved it and we are already planning a return.
The weather, but you can't do much about that!
Parking Late chk out Nice bathroom Lift
The shower fell to bits but i fixed it bk so all good
The location is very convenient and access to parking is good.
The property is undergoing renovations at the moment so I believe it's overpriced at the moment. The room was also abit dusty as well. There was also no soap in the shower upon arrival which indicates housekeeping could have done better.
Friendly, helpful staff. Comfortable bed Clean bathroom with super hot shower. Tv with lots of channels. Good breakfast- plenty of choice
Noisy heating. Strange smell in room - needed air freshner.
Paint work on doors peeling Bedroom carpet so dirty I wouldn't put bare feet on the dloor
Location was good. Bar area was good for meeting up and chatting in comfortable seating. Free parking!
Very good location within walking distance of the station. Bus stop nearby. It is quieter at night here than in the centre of York. Very basic but clean and comfortable.
Nothing really. It is a basic hotel so do not expect too much.
Was only a very short walk to the city centre, and has an excellent cafe on a nearby corner. Great room size, comfy beds and the whole experience was hassle free. Me and my girlfriend loved it. Would definitely recommend.
The towels actually had a slight smell to them. Only a minor point, on an otherwise excellent trip in a value-for-money hotel.
1.Good service! 2.The room is clean and clearly.
The hotel seemed good value. My daughter (adult) and I simply wanted somewhere to sleep and shower for one night. The room was basic but clean and the bed was comfortable. It was far enough away from the town centre to be quieter but close enough to walk.
We found it a little odd that the curtains were not a pair. Although they fitted the window they were completely different to each other. Even in a low price hotel I would have expected a pair of curtains. Also the room was not really warm enough.
welcoming, perfectly comfortable and good value
Don't be misled by the 'on site parking'. Its usually full. Shame to see a handsome Georgian building gutted and standardised.
