In the first night the heating doesn t work. The toilet it was not clean wit pee inside. The floor of the room it was with hair. The breackfast it was bad. the hotel it was not very full but they have give me a room for the back the vue it was bins and a garage and if i was the manager i had give a better room instead of this room. But the wurst it was the cold and the only blanket on the room inside the cover very old and full of dust. I dont recomend this hotel to anibody and i will need to stay in Southend more times. As director of a company must of my life is in hotels. And is the first time i do a claim.

We was made vey welcome by friendly staff, food was very good, only problem we did not get the four posted bedroom, as only have the three. Booking.com made it look that you would get a four posted bedroom, then you dont know untill you arive, may you should inform before hand, are or are not, as picking this hotel my partner was expecting a 4 posted bed. She felt a little let down. Parking was a problem and we had to park on the road round the corner. Other than that 8 out of 10

Reading some reviews we were a bit worried after booking the trip before checking. But from the moment we got there till the time we left nothing was to much trouble for the friendly staff. Also the room was clean and everything you would expect of a bed and breakfast in this price range, have paid a lot more for a lot less in the past. My final comment is for those people that have wrote bad reviews (you need to get a life) what on earth was you expecting for your money ? Looking forward to going back soon.

My husband and I liked everything about Ilfracombe House Hotel. Apart from the terrible weather! It was incredibly central, comfortable, homely, and nothing was ever too much trouble. We both agreed we had never had a nicer breakfast anywhere else!!!! Thank you for a wonderful stay - we'll definitely be back.

Friendly reception. Made to feel a valued customer. Good evening meal. Good value. Sky Sports available. Breakfast room rather cramped. Why not use dining room as well for breakfast?

It was close to the beach. The staff was friendly. The dining room was very small with people having to squeeze past each other, everyone was on top of each other. The room was a disappointment the seaview was only visable by hanging out of the window and looking left. The decor was poor and when we closed the curtains they came down. The plumbing in the bathroom was noisy and the tap was constantly dripping, we reported it but it wasn't fixed.

I found the staff very friendly and helpful. There was a good choice for breakfast. The area is quiet but not to far away from the busy shopping area and the seaside entertainments. The room was a single and was very comfortable with an ensuite with a nice powerful shower. Would stay again.

Staff were very welcome on check in, room allocation was very nice. Breakfast was good for tha price. Bed was dated and squeaked on movement, which led to a poor nights sleep even thought the location is quiet

Good sized room/apartment Great location Very reasonably priced When I booked, the website said that there was 24 hour desk. This turned out not to be the case, and I had to ring night bell to be directed to the key, left in an envelope. When I rang the b&b to check the check in time, the owner didnt seem to know what rooms were available online in comparison to those really free. This led to me being moved from the main hotel to a nearby apartment, which was fine as im sure this was larger than the original room. By the time i had arrived, at 0030, the small car park was full, so i didnt have a space.
