The hotel was very clean and the staff were very welcoming. Everything was as we expected in our room and we did not have to ask for anything extra. The location was ideal for the beach and the pavilion. The breakfast area was crowded, but that should have been expected as it was a Bank Holiday Monday and everyone seemed to come to breakfast at the same time. So not a criticism of the hotel - it was our (the holidaymakers) fault.

The staff were very friendly and and couldn't do more to assist us.The buffet breakfast was delicious and filled us up for the day. The bed was one of the confiest beds I have ever slept in. Would definately stay here again if visiting Southend.

Close to town centre/hotel was clean & comfortable staff very friendly, 10 out of 10, definitely will be returning Walking down to the prom can be abit dicey if you are not too able bodied

A very friendly hotel, proprietors couldn't do enough for us. The food was very good so we didn't have to go & look for a restaurant. The drink & food prices were very reasonable. It was only 5/10 minutes walk along to the theatre, as this was our reason for staying it was really convenient as parking would have been difficult at the theatre. We would stay again Nothing

Location perfect for the theatre and has good restaurants nearby. Very friendly, helpful, efficient staff. Smell of fried food throughout. Plastic flowers and curtains/carpets need attention/cleaning/repair.

Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Lots hot water. Good selection bathroom bits. Breakfast quick and tasty. Lovely sunny breakfast room. Majority of other residents friendly. Car park major asset Nothing too much trouble. Contractors staying who sat in lounge in just shorts,( no shirts, no shoes and lots of tattoos) very off putting. Bathroom ceiling peeling. Plastic flowers!!

The proximity to where we wanted to be in Southend was just right. The meals we had, ie breakfast and evening meal were first class and a reasonable price We could park outside the hotel without having to pay a premium car parking charge and walk to where we needed to be.We were meeting friends who were over from Spain so enjoyed both the break and their company. When we went into the room first it was very cold, bearing in mind that it was very cold outside, so would have thought all rads would be on. But that was just a minor detail and was soon overcome. Apart from that nothing!

We very much enjoyed our stay at this hotel, the staff were very helpful and friendly and made us feel very welcome, the breakfast buffet was amazing, the room was a great size and the bed was comfortable The plug didn't hold water in the bath.... Very minor overall as the shower worked perfectly Also no DVD player in room as listed but am sure if I'd have requested one the staff would have fetched one as they were amazing
