Incredibly friendly and helpful staff, excellent food and superb room. Great attention to detail.
Nothing I didn't like
Ornate shower room tiles, lots of pillows, compact double larger than I was expecting, great breakfast, staff really attentive and kind, helping me reverse my car, car park really handy
We were going to book at one of the larger hotels but as this hotel was the same price and included breakfast we decided to choose the Ifracombe. We are so glad we did as the staff couldn't have been more helpful; nothing was too much trouble and as we were in Southend for a funeral it was really appreciated. We had an evening meal which was excellent and breakfast was plentiful and very tasty.
Very friendly staff and atmosphere, everyone made to feel welcome.
We loved the character of this hotel, we have stayed at the usual Holiday Inn and Premier Inn which are very good but this place was charming, like staying with a loved relative at christmas, cosy, friendly and comfortable, we loved it.
Wi fi was not working but I was at fault for not asking for help as it wasn't really a priority for me.
Free parking-excellent room and breakfast good
trouble getting wi-fi-not really that important though
The family run hotel had every thing my friend and myself needed for a weekend break. We booked a twin room and were given an upgrade to a family room due to a cancellation. The hotel was within easy walk to the town, seafront and theatre.Parked the car and didn't move it till we left.Thank you for a great stay.
The location was very good to get every where we wanted. All staff were very friendly. Breakfast was very good and plenty of it. Yes we would go there again.
No Complaints at all
Staff were brilliant made you feel very welcome.
The decor is very dated, but everything was clean and comfortable,
For a family room a bit to small
Our room, top service, beautiful breakfast ,served by friendly staff. Could,nt do enough to make us welcome.
No complaints, everything was fine, will come again for sure. Thank you all.
The staff on arrival was excellent sorted us a parking space and was very helpful and friendly. The hotel was clean and good location. Breakfast was a buffet/help yourself which suited us.
Great location if needs to access the Southend Airport. 15 min by car. Nice staff.
Internet did not work. Since breakfast starts at 7AM morning early flights (8AM) passengers don't get to eat a pre-paid breakfast made when making the reservation.
Friendly staff, comfortable room, pleasant lounge and dining areas, good geographical location for Southend town.
Small car park (although we were able to park) so it could be a problem if there are a lot of vehicles.
location was good - price was good considering location and room was upgraded from single to double for same price so that was accommodating and a nice offer
hotel could do with updating in general - bath matt was soaking wet on entering the bathroom - wifi didnt work properly, remote for tv was broken - breakfast didn't have standard for full English breakfast such as black pudding or hash brown, even premier inn has these..I'm just glad we didn't pay the £200+ it should have been on booking.com- do not agree it is 4 star I'm afraid - perhaps just a bad day given other reviews?
Helpful Staff in a small and functional hotel that met all my needs.
Clean hotel, and friendly manager.
Although hotel has a small car park, it is usually full and street parking is difficult due to cars parking for theatre.
Very friendly staff. Very clean. Very good breakfast. Very quiet area.
Bed was uncomfortable - bathroom was extremely dated - 70's style - needs bringing up to date
Very homely with very friendly staff, there was a good choice at breakfast and our evening meals were good. Good location for some great walks. Wanted to stay longer and would book again. James Burke.
There was nothing to dislike.
Value for money.
Probably the best hotel we have ever stayed in. Very friendly, hospitality could not of been better. Service was excellent on all accounts. And the breakfast was just first class. Hope to return in the near future. Our stay was perfect. Thank you.
Inside well decorated, clean, tidy and ample sized rooms. Breakfast lovely and all you could eat. Staff were attentive, cheerful and polite. Didnt use the bar and lounge but it looked nice and well presented with tv's, computer, nice seating and prices at the bar were good.
car park quite small.
Friendly, flexible staff. Good location. For Southend, a reasonably priced hotel.
Room showing signs of age (e.g. chipped bath panel). Parking limited.
