Beautiful location satisfying breakfast
Disappointing booking said pool and spa newly renovated and open for our visit this was not the case and we were not informed on check in that the renovation completion date had been delayed. Claim that we had been emailed but email never received and staff quite rude and self righteous about this. No offer of any compensation (a simple round of drinks might have been a gesture) or any real explanation - pretty poor.
tHE RECEPTION ROOM
tHE WELLNESS CENTER WAS OUT OF USE
Excellent staff great views from The dining hall
Beautiful hotel, great location, friendly staff
We were not informed that the pool would be closed when we booked the hotel & were disappointed to find this out when we arrived since it was the main reason we chose this hotel over others.
The location, the staff, the resulting ambiance
Friendly and helpful staff. Very comfortable, good food. Central position to explore Dartmoor.
Will be enhanced when the new spa is finished.
Very welcoming and comfortable. The food in both the restaurant and the bistro bar was superlative.
Our room didn't live up to its description as "deluxe." There was no real view from the windows as they looked out over the concrete roof of the restaurant, the window blind was in need of repair and there was no handle on the wardrobe door - I had to use my fingernails to open it!
Location - beautiful, although difficult to get there. Room and bathroom good size for the money. Food good. Staff pleasant and helpful.
location, bed comfort, breakfast
Toilet seat was not secure, wifi not available in room12 only public places
Very friendly staff, beautiful grounds, delicious breakfast with staff kind enough to accommodate dietary needs or even just special requests, loved the on-site parking and restaurant. The pool and spa are a nice plus too!
The bed was not super comfortable - you could feel the springs through the mattress. Also lots of people bring their dogs and the walls are a little thin so every time they bark you can hear it.
The staff seemed to actually enjoy their work, very friendly and good fun.
Staff were friendly, good gym, quiet location, good food, flapjacks in the bedroom with the tea and coffee and bottled water.
Room was by the door for the stairs and so it was a little noisy when people went past.
Pease & quiet
Spa area could be improved. No timers in sauna or steam room, no spinner for trunks or bags to put wet things in. Having to trot back to shower before using different facility.
the location ..staff pleasant ..hotel was quite nice
restaurant food disapointing and service was not good at breakfast..four of us thought it was a bit expensive
Location and staff excellent
Food in the restaurant was very rich too much sauces not good on the stomach kept us awake at night. This was very disapointing. Espeacially considering the price. Very expensive in the restaurant
the staff were the most helpful and courteous I have come across in this country
I very much liked the speed of the wi-fi. Really made my work easyer!
Abit over priced, food was undercooked, the waitress was just dam rude! Overall not a pleasant night away. Thank god the internet was all ok!
Room descriptions were misleading
Location Lovely setting 'Blue Tiger' bistro menu
Slow 'Blue Tiger' bistro service. Expensive 'Dining Room' menu. Small room 9.
Shower pressure needs to be improved
polite and helpful staff. comfortable room after upgrade. good leisure facilities.
classic twin had only one small window, giving insufficient natural light to read by at 3pm on sunny afternoon. At £140/day B&B we thought this room was highly overpriced. Upgraded to superior twin at extra cost of £25/day. Lovely room but £165 ? As a coeliac I was served non GF food on 3 occasions. Fortunately we queried this on two of them. Not sure where the problem lay but this is a serious shortcoming.
We have stayed at Ilsington three times and love the area.
The shower/bath valve in Room 19 was not working properly.
Lovely location, great staff
All of the staff we encountered were great and the location was lovely making it nice and quiet.
Because of the reason for my visit to my sister who lives in Ilsington , i did not use any of the facilities at the hotel. But my stay was excellent. I have stayed twice at the hotel and will certainly be staying again. I loved the breakfast (oats&fruit& fish).
Cannot think of anything.Thank you.
