Cuisine was excellent. Staff mostly very helpful. Very comfortable. Coffee served at breakfast was like coloured water. No flavour at all. I asked for replacement, which proved no better. The only place in the hotel where I could not find any staff for help was the leisure and fitness centre. Hence I did not use it. |

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel, both times we were upgraded. (we have a Barcelo members card, only £20 for lifetime membership, well worth the investment due to the benefits gained) We returned on the basis of an enjoyable stay the first time. This second experience has not dampened our enthusiasm for this hotel. |

We stayed on a bed & breakfast basis and the breakfasts and service were first class. The hotel was traditional but not overly so, certainly not chintzy. It was clean and very comfortable. The room was over warm. Charging £7 for 'patron' car parking is not acceptable - the fact that the hotel does not publish the fact nor hide it in the small print is definitely unacceptable for this level of hotel - many reviews contained negative comments on this aspect so take notice Barcelo! |

Our intention was to walk along the SW way . The weather was too stormy . The breakfast and restaurant food did not match what we experieced on a previous stay 3 years ago |

The hotel is very tired, the staff dont care and the rooms need updating long gone are the old days in which this was a classic hotel. Ths is our third visit to this hotel and it will be the last. |

Excellent location with a very comfortable upgraded room with balcony and superb views. Our bathroom had been refitted to a good standard recently. Peaceful location but convenient for all amenities so the hotel scores highly in these areas. Charging extra for car parking is not a good idea - if you must levy a charge then hide it in the room rate. It does look as though you are penny pinching. The hotel is looking a little tired in places and Barcelo will need to consider a considerable investment particularly to the outside in the not too distant future. The Dining room chairs have seen better days and our plastic balcony furniture was grey rather than white due to its age. The staff were fine but a little too stretched at breakfast where residents were kept waiting too long before a staff member allocated them a table. No breakfast marmalade on day 3 with no explanation as to why. An irritating lack of attention to smaller details let the hotel down |

I was there on business, and the hotel was comfortable, reasonably priced, and offered good facilities. The location is excellent, the parking on site is handy, and the view from my balcony was marvellous. |

Front desk staff very helpful My wife was unable to put on her makeup as the low energy lighting in the room was not bright enough. The breakfast waiting staff were very lax and uninterested. Had to order tea twice. Palace hotel up the road was miles better for Breakfast |

The view from the hotel was lovely and it's location to the town centre was ideal. Having to pay £7.00 a night for the car park and not finding out until we checked out. |

The proximity to the town. I thought the hotel was looking a little tired and expected a little more with its reputation. Was disappointed to find the fruit at breakfast was not fresh. |

i liked the bedrooms very comfortable, and the food was very good. The views from our rooms were fabulous. very good value for money but objected to paying £3 for a cup of coffee after dinner would expect a cafetiere at least . |

the view from the dining room - comfort of bedroom tile grouting/cleanliness of bath surround in bathroom needs attention - this was also prevalent in our friends room who were staying at the hotel |

An enjoyable stay. Whilst the service and food in the Restaurant was acceptable the lack of both a Maitre'd and a Wine Waiter was very noticeable. |

Hotel.com booking facility excellent. quality of the food.Restaurant staff extremely helpful despite being understaffed. Sea views. 1> Illuminated pictures at the entrance show luxury swimming pool - in reality green mouldy water - unusable - complete health hazzard - one reason why we booked was to use the pool. 2> Reception staff were rude unhelpful and condesending on arrival.Couldn't find us on the system or get our restaurant booking right Charged for parking we didn't even use. no porter for bags. Put on 4th floor but lifts only go to 3rd floor. No staff to ask way around. We have recently bought a yacht on the marina and would not recommend this place again. We stayed here prior to new ownership and cannot believe the decline in standards |

Overlooking the picturesque Torwood Gardens, this hotel is conveniently only a brief walk from Torquay Harbour and the marina. |
Superbly located in a quiet conservation area, the Haytor Hotel is only 300 metres from Torquay harbour and just a few minutes’ walk from Meadfoot Beach. |
Set in the most desirable area on the Torquay English Riviera the Hotel Gleneagles is the ideal retreat. |
