Our second stay. Excellent location
Friendly helpful staff , at this family run hotel. Good sized room tastefully furnished with some homely touches. They did have a problem with one of the boilers meaning that we only had lukewarm water in the morning , but they were very apologetic and compensated for this. We would happily stay again.
The decor is warm and welcoming. Breakfast choice and quality is superb. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable and the Barbican only a 5 minute walk away
A very minor point, the TV reception was poor for freeview on the primary channels (BBC/ITV)
The receptionist/owner guided me in on the phone after my satnav failed. I had no idea where I was going and it was getting dark. She was totally amazing and I can't thank her enough for this act of kindness which goes well beyond what you would normally expect.
2 single beds which were a bit narrow and I wasn't used to it but that was my fault for not checking beforehand.
Helpful staff Comfortable room Great breakfast Value for money Parking
Large room, it was a superior double. Good breakfast with excellent choice. Proximity to the Hoe and town
Pillows were a bit too firm
Clean and tidy hotel with excellent staff. Plenty of original features in this Victorian house and a good location.
Great staff, location, parking included, which is important in that part of the city. Room quite small, but neat and newly refurbished. Good breakfast.
The bed was of a smaller size, too soft
it was a small but luvly clean room, nice and warm, also the sweet little extras like biscuits and drinking chocolate, the shower was nice and hot, and felt very welcome there
nothing to not like
Friendly staff Very fair value 5 minute walk to Barbican Great breakfast (decent sized glasses) Comfy bed Ideal if you are on a work trip
Tv a bit old fashioned but i'm clutching at straws
Fab hotel. Spotlessly clean. Good food. Love it.
Location. Friendly staff. Lovely old building.
There isn't car parking for everyone. Rear car park is cramped and cars are parked one behind the other. We were on top floor with no lift so it was a bit of a climb.
The room was OK, as where the staff.
The parking is atrocious and only available if you are early or want to pay to park on the street (which isn't always available). We had no hot water on one day, so had no way of getting a shave or a shower before work. pretty for an expensive B&B.
Staff were lovely Rooms were comfortable and nicely furnished
Everything, especially breakfast
Not being there long enough to enjoy the hotel
Hotel was very pleasant and in a good location. We didn't use the car for the two days we were there as we were able to walk to all the local attractions and restaurants. Breakfast was really good with a wide choice of food and staff were very friendly and helpful.
Friendly staff, slightly old fashioned standards, but in an entirely good way. Very good quality breakfast.
Slightly crazy car parking, but there's plenty of on-street nearby.
Friendliness of staff and room was very nice
Car parking a little tight
Friendly small hotel we had a cosy comfortable room at the top Great location for everything, great breakfast, kedgeree was excellent
Chosen in part for its car park we were disappointed to be called away from our drinks at the Barbican to move the car, problem solved when we realised we could leave our keys at the front desk
Excellent location with friendly staff with a good sense of humour and great value for money.
Location was fantastic, great to have parking on site so we could walk easily to the centre. Very friendly staff and great clean rooms.
TV had some interference in the evening but in the morning was fine.
The location of the hotel was excellent. Staff very attentive and nothing was too much trouble.
breakfast excellent. Staff friendly. Clean
tiny shower room was chilly. View of a wall...from room 20
Staff were really friendly and polite and very helpful. Location was ideal, really close to everything. Room was very comfy and clean.
Friendly staff and good service. Very good value for money.
