staff were very friendly and helpful cleanliness wasn't fantastic, floors weren't hoovered and in the morning the clean sheets for the bed were outside the room door lying on the hall carpet. The breakfast was quite poor and the eggs were made from soya. otherwise a lovely old fashioned character filled hotel |

Friendly reception, room was clean and tidy, complimentary toiletries provided. easy access to car park (low charge). ideal location and very attractive exterior. Pleasant room, comfy bed! Practical furniture. late check out. Noisy in the early hours along the corridor (not guests, a loud banging). Hideous view out the window, but didnt bother me as kept curtains shut. Radiator didnt work but wasnt all that cold so again not really an issue but could have been. Room could have been bigger. |

The bar was furnished reasonably and the bar staff were polite and helpful. Bar food was adequate Our best one word description of your hotel is: "decrepit". We could also say very badly in need of cleaning. All windows filthy inside and out. Curtains are ancient, stained and dirty. You need to bring this hotel up to standard by spending some money. |

The staff were helpful and the breakfast was top class! Room was nice and clean, if a little small. Bar was a little dated, and the drinks expensive. The lift to the 4th floor was out of order during our stay - and we were on that floor!! |

Peace and quiet and the character of the hotel. The shower needed attention as there was a poor flow. There was no shower cap provided which was essential for me. |

First impression superb a magnificent architectural statement, exuding the service from a by gone era; communal areas superb. Bedroom comfy. Staff superb even from time we entered a fully packed car park the bell boy offered advice and help.Every member of staff was helpful and smiling. Communal seating areas and entrance was lovely. The dining room nice overlooking the sea. having several bar or sitting areas offers choice too. We were suprised at the warnth of the whole place too often in these big old places the heating is not so good but even in November it may have been just too warm at times -but a refreshing change. Our room was booked four months prior to stay but we had a room at the back of the hotel overlooking unsightly roof top and above a disco two floors below. The noise kept us awake until its end at 01.15 the following day. When a disco started up the following night we requested a quiet room and this was willingly provided the member of staff (Simon) going out of his way to help us. The room was clean and although the sanitry ware in the bathroom were clean the trim in all areas was thick with dust that must have accumulated over a long period of time. These historic hotel we know have heavy overheads are lovely to stay in but the management need to identify their market - mixing discos with couples wanting a nice stay away doesnt work. |

I thought your reception staff were excellent - whilst waiting for my luggage tickets, I left a programme on the counter - next day I went back to see if they had seen it and they had, it was stored away safely. The reception staff when I stayed (from 11.30am Sun 22 Nov 2009 through to Monday 11am 23 Nov) were just lovely - professional, helpful, but would also have a smile and a joke with you - they were efficient, friendly and really helpful. nothing was too much trouble and they did not take too much time doing what you needed either, at the expense of other guests. MORE than 10 out of 10 to all of those people! no - I thought it was really good on all counts, thank you. (I have put yes in answer to the question below about the guest reviews - but I have not seen the reviews!) |

easy parking, mostly good staff, quiet room, drinks expensive and terrible service in the bar. Self-service toast!!!! Sausages very poor, rest of breakfast ok. public areas were not clean. Charged for parking!!!!!! |

I have stayed in many hotels in Blackpool however I would recommend this hotel and would stay again. The location is excellent, the hotel is nicely decorated and there was a nice bar and comfortable lounge areas. The spa gym and swimming facilties were also good. The restaurant also serviced a lovely breakfast. Only stayed one night but excellent value for money. The bedroom I stayed in was near a fire door and I could hear it closing each time some one passed down the corridor during the night. |

the staff were very friendly and helpfull if needed, the food was very good value especially the buffet breakfast. the hotel is now looking a bit tired ie decor, cracks in ceiling of our bedroom, bathroom needs refurbishing silicone around bath and shower a little dirty, window frames need replacing. |

I liked staying in this Victorian hotel and noticing some of the attractive architectural features such as the lovely high ceilings, attractive ceiling mouldings and view of the sea from the hotel lobby. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and extremely helpful at all times. As a single traveller, it could be useful to offer guests a seaview and double bed if available (perhaps these were not available during my stay). This would enhance my intentions of returning. People do not always realise the value of single guests |

Location was good for us as it was quiet and well away from the bars and clubs. The restaurant was nice and the breakfast was lovely with a variety of food. The hotel was not value for money at £115.00. We stayed here one night and one night at The Hilton which cost £93.00 for exactly the same booking. We only booked this hotel becuase there was no room at The Hilton for 2 nights. The bed was small compared to the one in the Hilton. I would recommend you stay here but only if The Hilton was fully booked. |
