We were glad we were only staying 1 night Stayed on 4th floor in corner room. Tiles were falling of the bathroom wall behind the toilet. Part of the toilet handle was missing exposing a rusted sharp edge. There were holes in the bedding, one mattress was lower thn the other and caving in. Despite the fact that the windows were screwed closed, they were not propery sealed and wind still ble through them. The pastris at breakfast were stale, he scramble eggs had been under a heat light for so long they had developed a hard crust, the fried eggs had congealed, very unappetising. Paid less for far better 4 star hotels on this trip. I would not even rate this hotel 2 stars.

Was very disappointed with our room, we asked to change rooms but the hotel was fully booked. We were on the first floor, the view from our window was a roof top with scaffolding, this made the room very dark, didn't want to stay in the room for long, thank goodness we only stayed one night. Stayed in loads of hotels over the years and this is the first time I have ever companied.

Have stayed at Hotel a few years ago and found housekeeping not up to previous stay. Did not get room that was requested, explanation for this was incorrect. Paid for premium room with safe, no safe in room. Toilet handle hanging off. Room was not cleaned before we moved in. Housekeeper had to be called to clean toilet as it had just been used before we moved in. Children running up and down corridors and knocking on doors.

the hotel was very good, but certain issues like having to que for breakfast, booking table for dinner and having to wait over three quaters of an hour for drinks and service. The manager Caroline, was very apolgetic and compensated for this. Yes would stay again.

This place has seen better days but it is still a place with character. Breakfast was good. It would have been OK apart from the fact that the room was very hot and it was not possible to open any of the windows. There is no air conditioning. Had it been a Premier Inn I may have invoked the "good nights sleep" policy. It was August and the holiday season. Usually I stay at the Hilton but that had no double beds left.

The architecture and history of the building appealed to me, although thre is a real need for some improvement re the tired decor, a full refurb is required looks very tired quite sad really as I have stayed here before 10 years ago, when it was bustling with smart efficient staff who were proud of there hotel. We still had a nice time in Blackpool though, we ate elsewhere due to the high over pricing of dining, want to return but not until refurb as taken place. As above tired and outdated.

I chose the Barcelo Imperial because I have used their Hotels before abroad and always found them to be pleasant places to stay and this one is no different. Amenities and staff are excellent, keep it up!

We did not enjoy our stay at the hotel. It was not to our taste. We found it very dull with very dark furnishings. We had no central heating through out our stay. The room was very small and we could not get to one side of the bed unles we moved an easy chair.

Wow factor as you pull up and reception is very well presented .. Staff helpful and accommodating, very spacious and rooms were cosy and bed very comfy a pleasant stay would def recommend and will be staying again He stairs down to spa need a good clean as does the carpet before you get to reception of spa... The tvs in rooms should be on the wall as this frees up space for make up and other things ie lap tops etc and the children's room could have a tv in their , not much for age 5-15 on hotel maybe one room could be changed to a games room ie pool table card tables etc

I was disappointed in the standards of the hotel, silly things like full length mirrors in completely inaccessible places, double duvet on a 5 foot bed so that it came just to the edge of the bed, no clock, no indication on the telephone what number to ring for reception. These are things I would expect in this standard of hotel.

Tired old hotel in need of major refurbishment. Breakfast extremely poor with poor service people waiting unto 20 minutes for coffee on a quiet Monday morning. Quality of decor in executive room disgraceful, peeling damp ceiling paper, window frames so rotten could not open the window for fear of them falling out completely!

I liked the easy friendly attitude of the staff. Even the domestic staff wished me "A good morning" every day. I have one complaint only. People using their mobile phones during meal time. A notice should be placed outside the restuarant requesting people to switch their phones off or leave them in their rooms. Breakfast time is "Me time" and it was spoilt by people answering their phones!

My husband and I came Blackpool to see the Question of Sport Tour, that was showing at the Opera House. The hotel was convenient, you one lie booking was user friendly. The staff were brilliant when we discovered we had left an important document in the room after we had checked out.We will most certainly use the hotel again, and we only live along the coast in the Duddon Estuary, and that's within spitting distance.

Location Room was not up to standard or clean, bad damp odour throughout the cold room (no heating). Room Safe not functioning, toilet seat broken, faeces floating in toilet, window frames rotting and curtains hanging from threads. After reporting problems, maintenance attended within 10 mins, saying he would return - as room was occupied. Waited 2 hours - nothing. Complained again, and was upgraded to another room. No safe in 2nd room, and plug to fridge (mini-bar) had been cut off.
