the housemaid knocking on our door at 9.15 am on sunday morning when my wifewas asleep,we was not happy about this as we had the room until 11 am

The availability of a room so late a booking.

The carpet in the restaurant had duck tape to hold it together.

Buffet breakfast. Main foyer. Location. Front of hotel seating arrangement.

Bathroom too small. Bedroom decor was a little tired and some lighting in need of repair. I believe animals are allowed in this hotel.

Weather !

Large hotel plenty of space as we travelled with 2 very young children and their mother. Swimming pool, well equipped playroom for children. Good breakfast, included for children . When taking evening meal, free for children Good sized room and family room Close to Tower and shops. Good public transport from outside hotel Plenty of parking space. Staff excellent in all areas, especially young lady maitre d'

Fading grandeur. Still ok but in need of deep refurbishment in bedrooms, bathrooms and most public areas. Service sometimes slow in restaurant and when ordering snacks.

Friendly helpful staff facilities great and prime location

The rooms were far from clean ... couldnt see out of the windows because of dirt inside and out ! The pelmet on the curtains had at least an inch of caked in dust and cobwebs ... on the cabinet behind the tv had so much dust I could right my name in it .. the bed was not a standard double bed to small .. overall this is a beautiful historic building in need of lots of tlc on the interior and exterior and cleanliness needs to be addressed

Excellent Breakfast. We have been to countless Hotels both in U.K. and abroad and I can honestly say that the Imperial Hotel is by far the best for both quantity, quality and the choice on offer is absolutely terrific!!. Lovely and spacious bedrooms, You also get plenty and various types of complimentary teas coffee and biscuits too!! Also lots of complimentary soaps, gels and shampoos etc Very friendly, "flexible" and accomodating staff throughout the hotel. The Imperial Hotel certainly merits its 4 star rating and stands apart and above from your more average hotel! We`ll be back!

Being charged per day for car parking which is offputting for some people.

A nice pleasant hotel staff were helpful room was adequate size. Breakfast was excellent .

On the day of departure (11 O Clock checkout) cleaning staff were knocking on the door at approximately 9 O Clock,

Breakfast was excellent. Plenty of choices and so nicely displayed. The hotel was easy to find and close to the town centre. Room was lovely and clean. Great shower. All the staff were so pleasant and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay here and will definitely go back again.

very noisy at night due to other guests. inability of staff to understand english - i.e. diane sauce even when pointed out on menu and red wine is not white

Clean, comfortable, decent sized rooms. Excellent facilities and in a prime location. Staff all very courteous and polite - very welcoming and helpful.

Although it was a sea view room we could not sleep because the noise from the genarater buzzing all night. We also went into the restraunt at 9:10 to be told they stopped serving food at 9 ? We ate steak and chips in the bar but feel we payed restraunt prices £16 ?

Revolving doors - most had difficulty with, impossible to get a dog through. First night hotel hosted a private event/conference. Many drunk and rowdy - needs better policing.

The staff were very friendly and approachable

The room bathroom was very dirty and there were milk splashes on the draws and mirror. I had to wait an hour between courses at dinner and was served the wrong steak and not to how i requested it cooked..

Good size rooms location was also good staff were helpful and the breakfast Buffett was really good with a large selection nice for when u have a hangover but on the hole what recommend this hotel to any group of friends coming for a night out

No fridge in the rooms plus the rooms are a little dated bar not 24 hr

Bird (Pigeon) droppings all over the inside of the window sill. Pillows smelt old and the bottom sheet was stained ... (Though the common parts of the hotel were clean and tidy) Paying for parking
