Inch Hotel  

Great view, good food easy access to some nice walks, very comfortable rooms a real charm about the place.

The scotch breakfast and dinner was excellent. The same goes for the staff. Bed and bed lamps is good. The view is excellent.

The person in reception that evening was a catastrophe. No mixer for the water. No hooks in bathroom for our dressing-cases. The floor is covered with a carpet. The sofa and the wardrobe should be taken away years ago. The window on third floor is small and dirty. There is something wrong with the coordinates – our navigator placed the hotel far out in the sea.

Warm comfortable room. Friendly staff, great food and dog friendly. We enjoyed our stay here and would go back again.

Nothing, whats not to like

We had our honeymoon in this hotel in 1972 and it was wonderful then. We returned some years later and were terribly disappointed to find the place so run down with many of the original features replaced or modernised. This time we came across it on Booking .com and saw from the website it was under new ownership and decided to try it again. We were greeted by friendly staff some of whom (as in most hotels) were not native english speakers but had a good command of the language and there were no communication problems at all. It was a pleasant surprise to find it somewhat on route to it's former glory.....restoration work is so costly but with such a location must be worthwhile.As fairly frequent visitors to the area ( we live in Edinburgh) we are hopeful that the owner will continue the work and for which we would be happy to pay a little more.

I thought the photography,while very impressive, was too modern for the traditional setting and would be good possibly displayed collectively on one wall? We enjoyed our evening meal,great local produce etc. but think the price and surrounds warrant a more formal approach-white linen table cloths for example?

Perfect location excellent views of Loch Ness. Quality food and service.

The location across from the Loch and very close to Fort Augustus is excellent. But along with the wonderful food the most oytstanfing festure of our stay was the warmth of the staff. They couldnt be more helpful. Especially the amazing Michela. Recommend it wholeheartedly.

Nothing too much to complain about. Only minor complaint is lack of transport in the area. 1 taxi !!

Room could do with new furniture staff on reception didn't speak good English so wasn't a warm welcome first night bar shut at 9-30 which wasn't good

The staff were lovely, and very accommodating of our baby. Excellent food in the restaurant (we had breakfast and dinner). Great spot overlooking Loch Ness. You can walk into Fort Augustus. Central spot for exploring the highlands.

We stayed for 4 nights. A couple of problems - lost hot water one morning, and power cut another, and had to ask before room was cleaned. But all were addressed promptly as soon as we asked.

The inn was beautiful, formerly a hunting lodge and has been restored very well with great attention to detail. We had two rooms; both were lovely. The breakfast was absolutely delicious. I would definitely recommend this inn to others.

The location is close enough to the village to walk to for a meal and a drink if you don't wan't to eat in the hotel (20 minutes walk). The food was fabulous and very well presented.

Bar prices are a bit costly.

Breakfast was delicious. We could use free wifi. Hotel was very quite and we had really good night sleep.

In the shower room was freezing cold. In the morning when we came for breakfast, nothing was in reception and we waited for about half an hour until the staff came.

The Inch hotel has a lovely cosy Scottish, Highland feel to it. If you are looking for a Scottish hotel that has a warm feel to it and not clinical that some modern hotels are then this Hotel could be the one for you. We stayed in the Loch Ness room which has a romantic feel to it with its four poster bed. The food was excellent in the restaurant. They also have a bar menu with a good range of choices. The breakfast was excellent and the staff are very helpful and friendly.

Some areas of the hotel could do with a lick of paint. In the room that I stayed in I was a bit diappointed that the roof in the ensuite had a crack in it. All it needs is a bit of the plaster board replaced and some plaster. You will laugh at my next point the four poster bed could do with its screws tightened!! The bed was comfortble but when you turn over you could hear the springs going pop. I think the mattress has seen enough action. Understandable with it being in the bridal suite ;-) Also a feather duster would not go a miss around the ceiling lights and the roof. Besides these points we enjoyed our stay and love the charm that this 150 yr old previous hunting lodge has to offer. Excellent food, lovely friendly staff and in an amazing part of Scotland. We will be back!

Beautiful location. Idyllic setting.

Unfortunately this establishment will need to pull up its sock if the owners want to keep charging the rates they do. It appears understaffed (by a very friendly but extremely busy gentleman who had to manage the bar, front desk and restaurant) and dated (in need of a carpet update and a lick of paint). It was also not thoroughly cleaned. On a road trip during which we stayed in three different hotels, this was the most expensive, but definitely not on par with the others.

The staff who were friendly and helpful. Comfortable heating and open fires. Beds were confortable and the towels large and soft. The food was excellent and very good value. Good choice of wines.

The lighting in the guest lounge. Too dim, needed more individual large lamps. A few fresh plants or flowers would also be welcome. Perhaps some small candles on the tables, similar to the dining room
