I liked the rooms they were really nice and clean, the bed was really comfortable. Iwas very disapointed in a lot of things regarding the hotel , which I let them know about. Don't think I will be rushing back any time soon.

Previous visits have been excellent, so I decided to bring my wife on my next business trip. Our room was not part of the nain hotel room 124. Could not locate room 124 and 2 members of staff gave us incorrect directions. We we taken to "the lodge" and our master key did not work, we were left out in the cold while another master key was found. 10 minutes later we were taken into the lodge block, only to find the lights did not work in the corridor. We were told no other rooms were availiable, this room had mildew in window area, wall paper coming off walls, damaged wall paper on most corners and walls. carpet was dirty not hoovered correctly.

Swimming pool and sauna were excellent and included in the room rate. A bit out of the way, you really need a car to get there. Expensive. Billed as a luxury hotel and it was very nice, but not good value at full price. Breakfast was £17.50!

The general hotel areas were very nice and I especially liked the incorporation of the old buildings into the fabric. Rooms were very average and could do with refurbishment.

The breakfast was good. No WI-FI available which is unusual as most hotels of this size which attracts businessmen should provide. The meals are very pricey and portions small, with add-on for sides.

I managed to get a family room 2 adults- 3 kids aged 19 12 & 4 and they also said if needed we could have took our dog but I dont like the thought of animals in hotel rooms really. I paid 105 pounds on booking website. I rang the hotel direct to confirm as I had done my search for double room and got a price then checked the children extra beds policy that said all children and older children free with the capacity of one extra bed in the room. Usually when I stay in hotels there is a sof bed in the room that my 2 younger ones use. My 19yr old had an emergency at work and he had to stay with us. The reservations lady was superb. She understood my predicament and said although the number of guests in a double room normally couldnt be accomodated she would sort it for us. When we arrived the reception staff were fatastic- lovely welcome. I clarified the amount including deposit to be charged to my debit card because I some hotels retain silly amounts like £300 as security and your bank wont release the available funds for 3-4 days. As I paid cash on arrival there was no debit card needed. The front entrance to hotel has been refurbished nice neew fittings and carpets etc but the corridors and wall decor of other parts of the hotel were dated but clean all the same. We opened the door to room 251 and we were absolutely amazed. The room well, suite was huge. A big queen size bed a sofa bed two single beds a chair and table set flat screen tv fridge desk and beautiful furnishings and bedding. It overlooked a back court yard but we didnt care for the view for 1 night anyway. We asked if we were able to take 4 year old into the bar as we wanted to have refreshments arriving late and having travelled for hours- no problem at all. The bar area linked on to a restaurant steak grill- the decor fantastic. There was flat screed lcd tvs too. The hotel had feel of elegance. The only negative would have been a little bit more transparancy with regard to the breakfast charges. Had I not cottoned on to the brakfast menu and questioned the servers at breakfast im sure I would have believed the hot breakfast was included and staff did not volunteer this information. I could have ended up with a bill at check out of an additional £75 all for a sausage few tomatoes one egg and a slice of bacon...phew I checked the price on booking.com ten minutes before leaving home and it had reduced by 30.00 so could have taken chance on last minute really

The staff are lovely and go out of their way to make sure your stay is as good as can be. I am in a wheelchair and the staff were very accomodating. I loved the relaxing atmosphere through out the hotel. I felt great after a day at the spa getting pampered.

Staff on the whole very friendly. Comfortable rooms and public area/restaurant. Good breakfast. .... I completed a feedback form. Charging for an an early check-in just says "we want more money from you". I was attending a wedding and was aware that I was 2 hours early for check-in. I could understand if it was 7 AM but no effort was made to possibly get in a room and no offer to store my bags. I returned at midnight and waited an age for anyone to attend at reception. Given my key with no directions or offer of assitance. Rang down to reception and also to room service to try and get a wake up call, phone eventually answered after 50+ rings. It's obviously your policy but to say you can get in the room now for £30 suggests that a room is ready and you are simply trying to make more money out of people. Not a good impression I felt. Perhaps that's the way it is now but I wasn't impressed with your company and will look elsewhere in future.

“Wonderful comfortable bed had a great sleep! Also the food was fabulous and at £10 for three courses it is one of the best bargains I have come across for a long time! Staff were courteous and friendly. A central location and easy to get to all in all I really enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend to everyone. M.Dalrymple.” Maureen, Kilwinning |
