With a bar and restaurant, The Oak Hotel is within 25 minutes’ drive of Warwick, Stratford-upon-Avon and Birmingham city centre.
Score from 497 reviews Excellent
Overlooking the RSC Theater, this 17th-century riverside hotel has parking and a bar. The center of town is a 5-minute walk away, and the train station is a 15-minute walk from the building.
Score from 516 reviews Very good
Sitting in 65 acres of beautiful English countryside, just 10 minutes from the M40, lies the Walton Hotel. Historical Warwick and Stratford-upon-Avon are both just 20 minutes away.
Score from 195 reviews Very good
Golf would have been good had we had time. Food and drink were OK Pleasant Clientele - doing their best to manage with what they have. Location is good for visiting Stratford-Upon-Avon.
Rooms in much need of redecoration. Wi-fi did not work in the room and hardly worked at reception (the location of the wifi source). It was so bad that we had to rely on the Receptionist's personal phone! Fan in bathroom was so noisy that we simply could not put the light on. Complained, and it was re-enforced that we shouldn't put the bathroom light on! No apology. Heating is via convector heater and is not temperature controlled (other than hot and not so hot). I would have expected thermostat controlled central heating/air con in a development such as this.
Good breakfast and waiting staff
Noise property with slamming doors and over priced
We paid £125 for the night but the breakfast was not very good for the price. The butter was rancid, there was no fruit or yoghurt, the cereal was like powder, some instant coffee was in a flask,Tea bags in a bowl but no boiling water for tea and the service was poor. We did complain, were given some fresh butter but feel it was not a good quality breakfast We would not stay again
Pro shop staff at golf course were excellent. Very quiet and peaceful during our stay.
WIFI was almost non existent. TV was tiny and very hard to watch. Was further out of town than advertised (3 mins DRIVE, not walk). Only one bedside table. No fridge in room. Overpriced for what we experienced.
The bed was super comfy Staff friendly, service with a smile Food was lovely
No mind the step sign when heading into room no.9, no warning from staff member who showed us to our room, I nearly broke my neck! No mention of check out times on booking, from staff or information in room but was told breakfast was until 10am, so assumed check out would follow at 11am. Whilst having breakfast the main wedding party where approached and told they needed to vacate the rooms by 10am, they had 6minutes to go until 10 and where still eating! I thought this was very rude but it transpired they had booked a back to back wedding after the one we had stayed for, I felt they where just churning them out at that point but where v unprepared to cope with demand. Beer on tap ran out at eve reception and tables where not laid out for breakfast when we came down, had to find staff for both plates and cutlery.
the golf course
the attitude of the receptionist when we arrived. We were told that the room that we booked 4 weeks prior to our stay was not available and we would be put in a cheaper room,we asked why we were not informed of this and was told it was booking.com's fault not there's,we were shown to the room with two single beds in a tv the size of a small computer and a skylight window looking out onto the roof, hence we said we would not be staying there. The receptionst coulcd not have cared less and kept blaming yourselve's we then drove to Stratford and stayed at the Stratford Q Hotel the hospitality could not have been better and the rooms were amazing yes it cost us more money but that was irrelevant, surely the hotel must let you know of the availabilty of there room's but they refused to be held responsible.
The setting is lovely.
It said we had a garden view, we didn't. We had another roof view out of the velux. Had to step down into the small room. Not even a chair which there was room for. The tap didn't run if you had flushed the toilet and then it was only a trickle at other times. We were hoping to get something to eat at 9pm but bar staff said kitchen staff had gone home. Had a bag of peanuts.
The lovely peaceful surrounding's & location to Stratford-Upon-Avon also the room was very large and tastefully decorated and a lovely view of the golf course.
loved the hotel and grounds
the room we were allocated was a bit small and was up in the eaves, the slanted ceiling was a nuisance and my husband kept banging his head, I had to stoop to get around to the bedside cabinet and there was no chair in the room, we had to use the beds to sit down. A better room would have made all the difference!
Staff and location
Reception staff and female bar staff.
No bar open in the evening?? Male staff member who was unsure how to call a taxi or even if he wanted to help as he wasn't on duty, no staff on duty in the evening??
It was lovely and quiet for the both of us after having a hectic week working away. It was an ideal place to relax and just take leisurely strolls. Stratford was not too far to drive and take in the sights.
There wasn't much to dislike. If I have to have a small moan it was that it appeared to take forever to filll the bath to have a soak as the water pressure was slow
Friendly staff Good food Spacious rooms Quiet setting
Poor wifi coverage in rooms
Location, food and hospitality
All ok by me!
We attended a 60th birthday party in the barn adjoining the hotel where the facilities were excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the meal was superb. A fantastic venue for this event.
The bedroom was very disappointing and the lady who served us breakfast seemed irritated by our presence. We had to ask twice for some coffee cups and each time another couple joined our table (there were ten of us altogether), she complained "oh not more" and we had to ask yet again for more coffee cups. Our bedroom was in the eaves of the building and you could only stand up in the middle of the room. Not good value for money. Wish we had stayed at the bed and breakfast down the road.
Food, Poor WiFi in bedrooms, Chef didn't arrive until 8.45am so no hot breakfast.
A lady called dot very welcoming in everything she did the food was outstanding and the room was lovelly too all the staff very nice will be back
The room was well appointed
No restaurant! Bar closed before 7.00pm No hand-pump beer. The `smooth-flow' beer was far too expensive. Breakfast was poor.
Lovely attentive staff, excellent value for money and for someone who is extremely fussy about her full English in the morning it was really nice!
Excellent room with plenty of space. Warm, clean and tidy Breakfast was delicious and well presented
I stayed at the Ingor Manor for one night with my girlfriend, and I cannot find fault with the hotel or its staff. The breakfast was delicious and we were well looked after for the duration of our stay!
The only negative is that we had to get taxis in and out of Stratford town centre, as this hotel is not within walking distance.
very friendly staff
i liked everything really
the room was good the food very good staff friendly
Not much good
No hot water , they offered another room but this still had no hot water after a short time.. They should have offered us a refund in the morning. I was not in the mood to fight for a refund at the time. Stratford upon Avon is a tourist rip off location I know. Sometimes since I'm English and I avoid tourist locations I forget how bad it can get. This hotel needs a modern hot water system installed and serious upgrade to the linen and decor. Its also spooky at night. A car alarm went off all night and nobody to switch it off.. I would avoid this place whatever the special offer !!!!
Peaceful. Good location to Stratford upon Avon.
Felt unsafe at night, no lights in car park. No staff to be seen when arriving back at 11pm. The room was full of cobwebs and had a stale smoke smell.
