Grounds were beautiful and breakfast was scrummy.
Very busy due to a wedding. Sadly restaurant was fully booked but the Indian Restaurant in Wickham was wonderful.
Nice location, and Helpful staff
We had a really dirty bath which had thick black hair were the plug goes, and the room to the left of us was very noisy and we were not able to get to sleep till about 1am.
The bar and waiting staff were so friendly, the breakfast was amazing! There was so much to choose from and they even catered for celiacs. The main building was beautiful and I would never had expected the little money charged for a place like this! The rooms were really nice, the beds were really comfy and the shower/bath was good. There was so much on site to see and do but unfortunately we had so little time to explore, will be returning soon
The doors to the bedrooms did not quite hold the draught out so we had to put something at the bottom of the door to prevent this
Pleasant safe enjoyed stay would come back
Smelled musty in room and bar bedroom was dirty round edges of carpet
the pool, jacuzzi
there was a wedding during our stay and the restaurant was fully booked for dinner. There are no restaurants in the area (like nothing) and we had no option but to order bar food which was disappointing. There was no option to pre book for dinner either! the room had no air condition, only a small radiator which took ages to warm up the room. We booked a family room and they gave us a tiny double room! Our room was outside the main building and in order to get to the pool you have to go outside in the cold ...
The location of the hotel is superb with very comfortable accommodation. The hotel was within 2 miles of a function we attended on the Saturday night of our visit. All in all good value for the money.
Not over keen on having to walk outside to go to breakfast if it had pouring with rain as of late.
Staff friendly. Nice Car Park
Requested and told I had a quiet room but I was right next to main entrance elevators.
Location and leisure club excellent. Room facilities very good. Quiet location. Open spaces. Good walking paths. Bar food was reasonably priced and edible - very good.
Bar has very large tv with sport on - what a turn off. Ate the food and got out. Better of with back-ground music or something more appealing.
Great venue!!! Beautiful manor house. Breakfast divine. Staff excellent.
Its an amazing place to stay and value for money. The staff and the attention to detail.
The glass door on the bath! hard to turn taps on....
The bed was very comfortable
Lipstick stains on towels. Rattling front door. Noisy cleaning staff waking us up from 9am when check out is 11am. Spider found on the bed AFTER we had slept
nice room, lovely spa facilities
Needed an over night stay for the airport. A suprise and a gem for very good money.
Excellent Location, Good Food, Comfortable, but small, rooms, lovely old house.
Breakfast buffet bar area too small for when there is a large wedding party all coming down late to breakfast after a late night! Outside passageways from bedrooms to house where restaurant is cold when temperature freezing in winter. Not much storage room in bedrooms.
The staff at reception
Simple, comfortable bedrooms in the stables block Main house had period character and charm (Bar & restaurant) Country location, quiet Swimming pool & gym
Car showered in mud in the car park when it rained hard
Room large & comfortable
Room service was dire - food not good at all but when complained was offered an apology but no refund!!!
Reasonable size room
No phone signal therefore intermittent wifi. Room smelt, door was wooden and didn't fit very well so was draughty. The whole accommodation area had cobbled paths so there was a constant clatter of cases on wheels not very well sign posted to say where reception was located
Breakfast was excellent and pool + spa very nice facility.
Bar prices very high, 2 average drinks over £10! We were also billed on check-out for room service charges of £18+ that weren't ours, but this issue was quickly & politely rectified.
Pool and Gym facilities are excellent. Food (Breakfast and Dinner) all excellent, beautiful dining room.
Being charged £10.50 each for breakfast when the website suggested £8.50 per person. If we'd known this we'd have ordered breakfasts in advance, this gripe spoilt my impression of the Hotel. Being initially sent to a room (86) which had not been made up at all.
The staff were very polite and helpful. The service was first class, I can recommend the hotel
We liked the location, the bar food was excellent. The staff at reception were very good.
The rudeness of one of the managers when there was a long queue for breakfast on the Sunday. He was very dismissive and abrupt and told us we should have had breakfast at 9am when nobody was there not at 10 which is the business time. I tried telling him we were on holiday but he would not listen. The room had damp, mouldy spots on the net curtains and in the corners of the room, especially in the bathroom. We could only get 5 channels on the TV not the list we were promised, and advertised, when we booked.
Good setting, but the poor weather prevented exploring the grounds.
The bedrooms are remote from the restaurant & bar. The car park dimly lit & inadequate. The food was expensive & not particularly good. Finding the place in the dark without a gps would be very difficult. The rooms are are on the small side & not very well noise insulated. It would have been nice if the manor house itself was more open to view, instead of just the bar, restaurant & unheated lounge area. The hotel is probably best suited for conventions & wedding receptions, but not as a base for exploring the area.
Location Comfortable bed Great breakfast
Lack of information Lack of parking Unable to book a table due to a wedding Very small bar Had to chase up about getting the room cleaned No drawers to put clothes - so if you were staying for a week you would have to live out of a suitcase
