Excellent location and hotel grounds.
Double bed could have been bigger.
Good size rooms in a set block away from the main house. Staff nice and helpful.
Our room had a back door which had been left unlocked and we had left all of our belongings inside for 12 hours before I noticed. The staff were apologetic and gave us free breakfasts. Food was average and expensive.
Loved the rural/country setting. Staff were excellent - very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed an early morning walk around the grounds before breakfast. Look forward to staying again.
Not a lot The entrance was pretty , but badly marketed as you have to walk 10 mins outside to get to breakfast room in manor house , which has no character except for 1 room 0 the Bristol room.
Too small rooms, corridors smelt of chlorine from pool. Entrance was outside on the 2nd floor , felt like we were in a 2 * motel!! Parking was impossible, lucky no one scratched my car! Not enough towels, and breakfast was cold, coffee awful!
Staff were very accommodating and when we had a problem when we arrived they dealt with it quickly. The room was clean and tidy
We were in the block above the lesuire facilities so it all smelled of chlorine, the rooms were roasting, I had to turn the heating off and open all the windows. Problem with the bathroom and if busy the catering staff can't cope. The site was no what I expected and rather resembled an old fashioned holiday camp layout.
Good shower, comfy bed, good room size.
Heating on all night, not in the main photo, hotel is buildings next to main house.
I wouldn't eat there. Two reasons: 1. The chef walked out to the bar lounge and as he walked past me, the stench from him was abhorrent. He was obviously oblivious to his own stench. It was disgusting to say the least. His white apron was filthy. 2. A gentleman ordered the chicken dish. It didn't look inviting when it arrived. He had a couple of bites, but couldn't eat it. He turned to me and just said "don't order the chicken, it's inedible".
great leisure facilities
tray left out side of the next door to where we where from friday till sat evening when i finally told reception that this tray was still there with food on!
Location is great. Friendly staff, nice swimming pool.
There was a wedding and a conference on when we stayed, so very busy.
Having to chase you for my invoice !!!!!
small, crampt room, tired furniture and decor
Rooms were easy to find and hotel not to difficult to get to
There was no WI-FI in the room and most of the restaurant.
I was very impressed that the restaurant's kids menu included several healthy options (for example, cut vegetables with hummus dip). My meal was very good too at a most reasonable price.
The location and the grounds
Used glasses were left outside under seats. Opened windows in room for fresh air. The window frame itself needs a good clean. Filth had collected in the grooves. A dust mite allergy nightmare. The room lacked sparkle. (022)
location difficult to find needs better signage
Great Facilites, location, nice bar food. Good Breakfast, Friendly Staff
Cost, pushed high by the Great South run on at the weekend we visited. Hotel great value for money on a normal weekend
Location was handy for the reason of our visit. The setting of the hotel is beautiful and the main house is really impressive
Staff were a bit haphazard, breakfast was interesting with waiting staff dropping things and forgetting to clear tables. Rooms were a bit worn and basic situated in presumabley the old stables.
Nice location. Very friendly staff. Nice breakfast
Some of the decor was a bit 'tired'. Bar prices were extremely expensive.
rooms were good and the ground excellent
the breakfast arranegments were very poor, staff completely incapable of keeping up with demand. The idea of individually cooking a fried egg for each person is very laudable, but when the queue is out the door some changes should have been made. I gave up and just had cereal, although I did pay for a full breakfast, since again the check out queue was so big I did not have time to seek a refund.
A lot of money for the size of room and considering the location
I thought the marketing was so heavy on imagery of the main house that it was totally unexpected that we would be staying in a purpose built annex. My perception of this layout was butlins style but inside was clean and comfortable.
Beautiful campus, lots of parking, very nice breakfast (the porridge is lovely) and good food generally, very helpful and friendly staff who respond quickly to any problems that arise.
The bathrooms urgently need refurbishing.
very noisy place to stop at..
They messed up our booking so had a tiny room for our family.
I am a regular visitor here... At least three times a month. it is in a quiet countryside location not everyone's cup of tea but so relaxing. it's clean, friendly and welcoming. they have first class facilities and are always available if you have any problems... My first choice always
Parking... Not the best. Phone signal... Very poor.
