The washing facilities were not good, the bath was to small and a funny rounded shape you didn't have enough space for your feet to stand comfortably, if I was a really large person which I am not there would have been no chance to have got in the shower.
Nice breakfast, room with sea view was comfortable and clean.
Room a bit small for long stay
- Great Location - Public Areas charming - food quality - free parking
- Restaurant in the basement rather then upstairs - no aircon - carpet in family room looked terrible - too pricy
Location was walking distance to town.
Too hot, poor wifi on 3rd floor, small window with ocean view. No proper shower. Bed was two singles pushed together, so a crack that was uncomfortable in the middle.
We felt most welcome by all members of staff during our visit. The food in the restaurant was fantastic and my wife and I enjoyed a lovely meal.
I felt our room was lovely but it was very warm despite it being cool outside. Also our ensuite could have been presented better with flaky paint on the walls and the shower head was too low for me when showering. Apart from these points I enjoyed our stay. Thanks
Loved the staff, the food, the decor, the cleanliness and the view.
The polyester duvet and pillows, most uncomfortable and hot, the wonky broken toilet seat and the modern sink where the plug got stuck... Not very impressed.
Fantastic location, great selection of hot and cold items for breakfast
A very warm room made it difficult to sleep well, but a blessing in disguse as it was perfect beach weather. We have previously stayed at the sister hotel next door (The Ocean View) and got a considerably larger room for a lower price than at Cottonwood.
The staff and the comfort
Just returned from a short break at Cottonwood, and would thoroughly recommend it! Friendly staff, superb food, great location and full of character. We loved it!
WiFi was slow
The super voews
I booked Cottonwood but was very disappointed that they had overbooked and sent us next door to Ocean View. We had a lovely room at Ocean View.
The location as it is right in between Boscombe and Bournemouth main beaches. Excellent restaurant. The bed was very comfy and the staff could not do enough for us.
The rooms view. If I went again I would want a sea view or at least not a view of the back of the hotel over where the kitchen staff seem to gather to chat. Having said that the room was nice but not as nice as the ones in the pictures.
If you think about Fawlty Towers, so it is the place
lovely spacious family room excellent views lovely meal
nothing all perfect
The staff hotel and meals
The radiator in the bathroom was on constant when we complained we was told there was nothing could be done as it is linked to the hot water. This made the bedroom hot as well and no offer of fan so poor customer service
Location pleasant walk along beach to Bournemouth town, great sea view, good choices for breakfast and beds comfortable. Good value for money and would stay again and bring swimming costume as could have used outdoor pool at next door hotel.
double glazed window condensation inside.
Ambiance and decor. Breakfast buffet was good.
Reception staff both on checking in and out was curt. Room was small. I had requested a room overlooking the sea and was put into a room overlooking a flat, untidy roof and the car park. Felt as a single traveller, staying one night, my request was not given consideration. As I mentioned on checkout had I been told the room requested was not available I probably would have upgraded my room. Also, arrived at the hotel at 1:20p.m. and was coldly told check in was 2p.m. Sorry, there are a score of hotels in this area and will book into one of those before returning to the Cottonwood!
The staff are very good and welcoming. The food and beverages are excellent both breakfast and dinner. The room and bathroom were clean and everything worked. We were late arriving and they made sure we had a really good dinner. We would stay here again.
The wifi did not work in our room but it didn't bother us. It was very hot in the room and there is no air con or fan and keeping the windows open meant that there was quite a lot of noise.
Good location. Bar and outside good.
Overpriced pokey little room. Every floorboard creaked or moved and was uneven. We only had 2ft to get past the bed. A wardrobe with no room for our clothes. A lift next to us making noise every time it moved and the lift door was an old metal pull back that made so much noise you could not sleep. When I complained I met 3 other couples who were also very upset. Spoilt our stay. I got 40% of the Bill in the end but that was knowwhere near enough.
Very nice breakfast, good location on seafront. Friendly staff & nice decor.
Room too small and very hot - weather was very warm Hotel should consider offering portable (or built-in) air conditioning to guests as it was too hot to sleep at night.
Need more staff especially in the bar. Poor staff were overwhelmed with workload but were great and remained professional .
Fantastic location, great value for money. We stayed in a family room with one double and one single bed. The room was very spacious with plenty of storage. Bar staff very helpful making special fruit cocktails for our son. Loved the old fashioned lift!
Event taking place, went on until midnight (told it would end at 10pm), wish I had known about it before. Had to change rooms, twin room only available, moved from ground floor to third floor and still hear the noise.
Great views and friendly staff
Toilet seat was on the move!
