The location was fatastic views of the river and hill lovely. Up graded room from chalet no extra cost to us, because they had work on going outside. Staff very helpful nothing was to much trouble. Very clean and relaxing atmosphere. We had a meal at the hotel great value and the food was very nice. Good menu choice. Would stay there again.
Staff. Food. Lounge bar. Quiet.
Very shabby exterior. Unnecessarily neglected, small tidying jobs would make a big difference.
Friendly staff,comfy room,good breakfast,no hassles,quiet.
Lovely location ,
Had a nice stay. All staff very friendly and helpful. We had to leave early in the morning before breakfast starts, waitress from the bar offered us some cereals and juice to be delivered to our room,so we could have some breakfast next morning.Definitely will stay again.
Bathroom wasn't very clean
Good food, good location and lovely atmosphere. Staff were excellent and the room contemporary.
The bar door slamming
Staff were great-very welcoming and efficient. Food was super and plentiful.Great location. Cosy fire in bar. Great base for walking in the area. Will return soon.
Pillows were a bit hard. Shower nearly knocked you out.
good views lovely big room
We arrived very late on Friday night and the staff were really helpful and accommodating. They kept the bar open so we could have a drink before going to bed. They put the lovely coal effect log burner on for us. In the morning, the breakfast was very good. The view from our room was lovely. lovely stay. Would love to return sometime.
I can't think of anything that I didn't like. Perhaps the carpet in the corridor could do with replacing sometime soon?
The position of the hotel was good for a bird watching weekend, the staff were very polite and helpful, the facilities were excellent, the four poster bed very comfortable and the room of a good size.
Friendly, helpful and welcoming staff. Beautiful location. Lovely cosy snug area with fire and leather sofas to relax, use WiFi and read. Restaurant attractively lit, loads of candles and character. Excellent towels and good quality bed linen.
Shower in our room clean and very good pressure but shower walls needed re-grouting.
The food at the hotel was excellent . It was one of the nicest breakfasts I have had in a hotel , so much choice . The view from the Inn was superb , overlooking the River Wye and beautiful fields . The staff were very polite and pleasant . We stayed inside the Inn rather than the chalets and our room was very clean , tea & coffee and shampoos and soap were all inclusive . I would definately recommend and would stay here again .
As our room was overlooking the main road it could be quite noisy , but not a big problem as it did not disturb our night's sleep .
All of it! Chose it randomly as the cheapest in the list for the area....blown away - so welcoming (Sincerely), so clean, food and service brilliant, warm and cosy atmosphere, traditional country pub decor. Chalet rooms perfect size/comfort with shower en suite, beautiful views from breakfast room - couldnt have chosen better
There really isnt anything - unless you really want a bath!!
We had a kitten with us. This did not prove a problem for the hotel. The restaurant food was very good value for money. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Very poor Wi-Fi signal. Building was a bit shabby e.g. broken tiles/missing towel rail
What a fantastic place to stay! Beautiful views, a warm atmosphere and friendly welcome. We (accidentally) timed our one night stay with the Inn on the Wye's Steak night, wonderful food and excellent value. Will definitely stay again!
Nothing, everything was at a fantastic standard.
Room too hot and bed very soft
We liked the bar restaurant area where we had a wonderful steak meal and equally good full English next morning. Very attentive and friendly staff.fantastic view from our room of the Wye and Goodrich castle.
If we're being picky - couldn't get on Wi-Fi in our room. Tired landings and haphazard whitewashed bedroom furniture.
As my wife and I have stayed here on many occasions, that alone speaks volumes for the establishment. Staff are always polite and welcoming and make our stay most enjoyable.
Food Was Stunning
Booked a Chalet instead of the Main Hotel - Big Mistake - Felt like an American Motel - The rating would be higher if we stayed in the main part.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly, efficient and polite. The view from our bedroom window was beautiful. Really appreciated the Glamorgan sausages at breakfast time.
Very limited vegetarian meal choice. Check in was difficult as there was no reception and nobody at the bar so we had a little wait for someone to notice we had arrived. En suite looked tired and dated.
We stayed in one of the chalet rooms. It was very warm...perhaps a little too warm with 3 of us! The room was clean and cosy with tea and coffee, just what we wanted for an overnight stay. The breakfast was lovely and the restaurant menu was varied, although not great for young kids!! We would go back again.
That there were no controls on the heating, so you couldn't alter the temp to suit.
EXCELLENT SERVICE FROM INITIAL GREETING, THROUGH TO MEAL SERVICES . A LOVELY INN WITH GREAT STAFF AND AECELLENT MEALS, WILL NOT HESITATE TO RECOMMEND AND HOPE TO VISIT AGAIN IN FUTURE.
We loved the location, the friendly attention from staff, the views and proximity to walks, towns and villages; the privacy and (surprising) quiet of the chalet accommodation with its use of the comfortable hotel bar/lounge/dining area. Parking no problem. Would recommend to couples, families or singles.
Bathroom fan broken, WC cistern leaking - soon to be mended no doubt. Food ranged from excellent to disappointing but it was the New Year with staff overstretched at times. Ambient music in bar and restaurant rather too loud.
Good service from the time we arrived until the time we left, we had a light lunch and the evening meal which were both of a very good standard. The full English was very full so a good appetite will be needed to get through. Will return in the late spring early summer to take advantage of the walks to be had.
One small issue would be the lack of seating in the bar area, we had to sit at a dinning table after dinner which would not be my choice for after dinner drinks.
The inn was beautifully decorated for Christmas and it had a lovely cosy sitting area near the bar. Our room was very comfortable and clean with views of the river Wye and Goodrich castle. Yes it is near a road, but if this bothers you then take a pair of ear plugs with you, it didn't bother us. All the staff without exception were lovely, there was a really good atmosphere and they all looked happy to be working there. The food, whether it was breakfast or evening meal, was excellent and plenty of it with good service. There was a lot of people dining there on Christmas Day which speaks for itself. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Inn on the Wye and hope to return ourselves in the future.
There was nothing to dislike, but if we had to be picky the mattress was a bit too hard for us but we still slept well, the grouting in the shower needed attention which we think was due to poor ventilation and there was a small patch of damp in one corner of the room but I am sure the new managers will attend to these areas given time, however it most certainly did not detract from a most enjoyable stay.
