Location, friendly staff, meals
Not much room in the bar area for sitting after your dinner
The late checkin was a bonus. We could take our dog down to the bar for late night drinks and morning breakfast. Great breakfast and very accommodating breakfast staff. Plenty of parking.
The room smelt a bit musty. The wifi wasn't working in the bar and not available in the chalets.
The food was very plentiful and good. Staff were pleasant and helpful.
The coffee in the morning I did not like. But the breakfast was good.
Staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. Room lovely, shower great! Food in the restaurant was good.
Country atmosphere Quaint rooms Quiet Affordable
Steps and trip hazards
Beer & homely lounge.
Black mold in shower. Twin beds though stated double. Home made pie was just those crockpot with puff pastry top; not a real slice of home made pie.
location and food
lots of people with dogs were stopping there including ourselves but we were told no dogs allowed ! ! even though one resident on site by looks of it ! !
rooms were very nice food was good
Lovely lounge with plenty of sofas and a coal fire helpful staff
Room 16 in annex next to laundry very mouldy smell and a mattress that should be in a skip, bathroom fan not working, like a mouldy old caravan, not worth half the fee, only book a room in the main building.
Bar and restaurant area - very cosy and welcoming
Room was a bit basic with leaky radiator / broken window latch but still good value
Very helpful staff, excellent value for money and superb steak.
The location was very nice. the hotel felt relaxing the staff were friendly . No complaints.
Excellent staff couldn't do enough for us. Whole place needs upgrading and cleaning, scruffy. Lovely place and lovely setting.
Location, views, plenty of hot water, beer good, wine list reasonably priced. Meal prices were fair.
Menu choice was limited and uninspiring. Music from bar, dining area was intrusive in the room. From 7 am until 10 pm. Bedroom lighting poor not adequate for reading. Window could do with catch repairing as it was falling off.
Everything and the food was great
On the whole the food was good. Car parking was secure & good.
The bathroom was in need of upgrading. We had the family room which consisted of three bedrooms with the potential to sleep 5 which was good, but one dilapidated shower room / WC was at times inadequate. There were number of H&S issues which I reported to the staff. The Wi-Fi availability was confined to the bar and wasn't very good when a connection was achieved.
Cosy room, perfect for our overnight stay, great value, food & service. We would definately stay again and would highly recommend to others. Many Thanks
Great place to stay
Lovely location, comfortable bed (four-poster), excellent food, helpful staff, cosy lounge area, lots of local info available in leaflets, pretty lighting effects in shower!
slightly mouldy shower cubicle, front-facing room meant traffic noise, room also rather hot and airless; would have liked some fresh fruit at breakfast
The soft seat area to read and relax with a drink or two, well prepared meals.Well located for Ross on Wye,Symonds Yat for the views and walks and if you like a sense of history then Goodrich castle is on the hill opposite the inn
only there for 1 night
Had to be moved from cabin chalet due to cleanliness.hotel room ok but dirty towels
Room with en-suite was comfortable and clean. Food very good. Staff helpful and informative about the area.
Only minor niggle was lack of Wi-Fi in the room; you had to go into the bar.
This venue was a case of you got what was expected for the price.
However the cost of keeping the chalets clean would not have broken the bank. Staffing levels where very poor when we were there leading to bad service for others but not us.
Very friendly staff and very helpful.
At first didn't like being put in room next to road but was so worn out slept really well.
Location , comfortable bar area , and very helpful staff.
The bedroom was on the small side .
