i like the food breakfast, we had meal at night and that great as well.
The staff were great and helpful. For what I paid (48.95 per night) is was value for the money. Bed was comfortable.
I stayed in room 9, noise from the road, the room needs redecorating and new carpets. You have to get out of bed to turn the main room light off. Linen clean but over used.
the food was wonderful.staff were friendly and helpful.excellent surroundings.would stay again
Four poster bed was lovely. Staff friendly. Lovely location.
Missing was attention to detail. Had Whitebait which should have been with a salad garnish. This was missing. Just had it served without napkins at the bar, and no lemon! But I am a perfectionist, and would never have served it like that!
Friendly and helpful staff. Good food. Good position for places we wanted to visit. Good value for money. Spacious room.
Bed could have been a little firmer
excellent breakfast Friendly staff location good
Great hotel with superb views, we were in the annex and initially a bit chilly but soon warmed up. room was functional but could have supplied a desk chair to work at. Fantastic value and one THE best breakfasts provided
Not a lot
Staff very helpful and friendly; Sean (Shaun?) looked after us especially. Lovely bar/restaurant and views. Great value meals (steak night).
Room and bathroom looking a little tired and ready for refurbishing, but nothing too serious.
Staff were friendly and helpful. The pub itself was warm and welcoming and the food was great. The bed was very comfortable and the bed linens were clean. The shower was lovely and powerful.
The room was not of a good clean standard; cobwebs, mildew/mould around the shower tray and tiles. No towel rail as it had been broken off the wall. The back of the bathroom door was filthy.
Great friendly and polite staff. Fantastic food. Great friendly and homely atmosphere.
Step on landing to bedroom could do with highlighting. Wife fell and broke bones in foot.
A fantastic place to take the dog, warm fire excellent food, great beer and wine. Perfect!
The staff were fantastic, a young girl called Samantha was very pleasant although all staff were polite. Nothing was too much we even had desert bought up to our room.
The bathroom could do with a bit of an update but still clean.
Staff courteous, friendly and cheerful. Restaurant - excellent (really excellent) food. Bar - superb atmosphere and reasonably-priced real ale. Great breakfasts.
Room originally booked not available due to heating failure. Substituted room small and with broken window catch, meaning it took a long time to get warm (radiator not turned on until we got in). We feel we should perhaps have been given a free upgrade to a better room altogether not downgraded to an inferior one.
Large 4 poster in spacious comfortable room. Friendly staff. Decent food.
Nothing to dislike.
Steaks were brilliant and service was excellent. Beer also very good. Four poster made you feel royal and made up for not so smart bathroom and shower.
Great value, friendly staff, fantastic food, very cosy bar area for a relaxing drink after a meal. Stayed in one of the chalets which was clean and comfortable.
Nothing to dislike.
room was clean, nicely decorated, very good shower. food was reasonably priced and good sized portions. Staff were friendly and polite.
only one bedside cabinet in double room, sockets not in good place to use hairdryer etc and be able to see in a mirror, not a major problem but irritating.
The whole of our stay was enjoyable, staff were very helpful and polite. Would stay again.
Staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was excellent (although we were unable to sample the Wye Valley smoked fish for breakfast). Great location for visiting the area a,d very peaceful
The bathroom had been cleaned but open soap from a previous occupant had been left in the shower and the cups in the bedroom had not been cleaned thoroughly. The window in our room did not shut properly.
The staff were excellent, welcoming and helpful. Good location although a little way out of Ross (10 mins by car?). Room was as good as one would expect.
WiFi only worked in the lounge areas due to age of building but it was free so just a minor irritation!
Roaring log-fire, with a team that appeared to be genuine and working hard yet had time to be friendly. Best breakfast view one could wish for - the very part of the River Wye that gave birth to the word 'picturesque'.
Leaves on the ramp up to the chalets were a bit slippery (this was November), but for a few pounds more I could have stayed in the main building and avoided that.
Good food which was reasonably priced. Friendly staff, in particular Samantha? (or Sandra) who served us for dinner and breakfast. She's ac credit to the hotel.
One of the rooms had a shower head which would not stay in place. Another was unable to turn off central heating during the night.
Room and en suite very clean and comfortable. Very homely atmosphere, friendly staff. Wonderful food, what more could you ask for.
Friendly helpful staff
Great food, beer, service and location.
The bedroom (especially the shower room) was fairly shabby and ready for a refit.
