Dating back to 1860, The Dog in Over Peover is in the heart of the quaint village. This typical village inn offers a restaurant and a pub serving real local and national ales.

Me and my partner stayed here for one night I order to go out into Alderley Edge village for the restaurants and bars, which is a five minute walk away, making it a great location! :) the room we were given was great, can't fault it at all!! The staff are amazing, very helpful and polite. Would recommend to anyone to stay here. Best night I have had in a while :)!!
no bar available for residents after 11.30pm
Convenient location clean rooms friendly staff
Choice of breakfast was fairly primitive
We had a delicious dinner in the hotel's restaurant.
Not a good value for money.
The ambience of the hotel. The excellent service of the staff in the restaurant on Sunday(3rd Aug)evening when we had Dinner.
The bathroom door in room2 did not close properly. Perhaps a better selection on the breakfast buffet would be good. Some fresh fruit, perhaps
Much better than its sister lodge in Beckenham Kent where we stay regularly when visiting family
Unable to leave bedroom window open on a very warm night due to the noise of the kitchen extractor fan.
Location and Staff
Smell of the Kitchens in the back Rooms made them smell stale. Relocation of the extractor would be worth thinking about.
As well as staying overnight including dinner I also had 9 guests for lunch the next day including a toddler. The service was quite exceptional, nothing was too much trouble & every request was met. The food was very good with plenty of choice.
Fixed head shower in bathroom & wifi was a bit fiddly & had to be continually re-connected
The atmosphere was very professional and relaxing. Keep doing what you're doing
Very spacious clean room and a comfortable bed. Pleasant restaurant and good breakfast.
No bath in the bathroom. Plenty of space for one!. Absence of a couple of comfortable armchairs and casual table in the room. Would prefer the price to include breakfast even if the rate was higher
Firstly, excellent, courteous and helpful staff. On arrival a cook offered to take our case to our room. Likewise on leaving a cleaner took our bag to the car. Both offered. It was greatly appreciated. Waiters also excellent. Good sized room and shower room.
Situation on a noisy road but it would not put us off returning. Difficult to use mirrors in room and bathroom at night due to poor lighting. Shelving or a stool/bench on which to put a sponge bag in the bathroom.
Wifi log on
Nice enough spot and well furnished rooms with decent bathrooms and quality toiletries. Overall very clean
Prices were a little on the high side for what was offered
Lovely staff especially Steph.
Wifi and phone reception non existent.
Response from customer service to my concerns were excellent.
Poor location next to main road, small and uncomfortable beds - no air conditioning but was told after our stay that there were fans available!
The couple next door they were at it all night!
Very friendly staff
Quite a few things on the menu that we ordered were not available but the staff did produce an alternative although being veggie meant we lost any choice.
The staff were absolutely brilliant and we couldn't fault them, nothing was too much bother for them, excellent.
The quantity of food on the breakfast bar was a little lacking. There didn't seem anyone checking that there was sufficient available. Once asked however, they were more than willing to assist and were very friendly. There also seemed to be shortage of pillows, we like two but there didn't seem to be enough, because the family rooms were also occupied and there weren't any extras.
The Inn is very clean and extremely comfortable. I also strongly recommend the restaurant. The staff was extremely friendly and caring. Great team of people working there! They were full of attention for the kids. I would especially like to mention Gary, Selcuk and Julian. They made us love the place even more.
The scenery and the staff were polite.
The breakfast was poor. The beds were uncomfy, with squeaky floorboards on the landing which kept you awake with slamming doors. Ruined a lovely evening!
The rooms to the street quite loud due to the traffic
very convenient position . excellent meal Friday evening
Staff were amazing and very friendly. I was made to feel very welcome by all of them, thank you!
My bathroom was almost finished! A work in progress.
