Quality of the hotel
Noise from the bar in the room
Modern décor and liked that it was above a really nice gastro type of pub. Breakfast was quick and yummy.
Room was cold, heating was set to highest possible - didn't even turn on
Room too close to a busy road, hence we were kept awke all night.
Very clean and modern.
Service with a smile, good well presented food, helpful and friendly staff. Good location for shopping, retail parks close by, very regular trains into Manchester.
good coffee, friendly staff, clean room, nice decoration, comfortable, great food, nice welcome, nice bathroom
Wi-Fi needed a UK mobile number but I live in Ireland and so have an Irish mobile number and could not use the wi-fi
Easy check in and nice atmosphere of hotel and bar area
Was kept awake from 3am onwards with drunken loud shrieks and screaming from room next door.totally ruined our stay.we ended up leaving at 4am as there was no peace to be had
Great staff, good food, nice country location. Went back for a visit for old times sake as we loved the place before we left the UK in 2005.
I was disappointed that the pub no longer had that old world atmosphere and the décor was very plain. Also there was no four poster bed anymore. However, if one is a new comer to the place they would not know any difference.
Flying out from Manchester airport was really close to it
Access to rooms were through the public bar
Bathroom requires hooks. Shelf in shower and shower door handle replaced
We came to attend our friend's wedding, and spent 2 nights here for the weekend. Nice room and great bar! Good distance from Wilmslow train station.
Does the job, everything works!
Warm and friendly atmosphere, room was comfortable and clean. Both evenings we ate in the restaurant which offers a variety of dishes. The staff are a credit to the Merlin. We will stay again when visiting the area
Noise from pub below
Great rooms very comfortable and pleasing to the eye
For the price and location/area I didn't expect to see the TV and skirting boards caked in dust... Everything else was great..
Friendly helpful staff Value for money

Noisy music from kitchen late evening up to 22;00hrs.

Me and my partner stayed here for one night I order to go out into Alderley Edge village for the restaurants and bars, which is a five minute walk away, making it a great location! :) the room we were given was great, can't fault it at all!! The staff are amazing, very helpful and polite. Would recommend to anyone to stay here. Best night I have had in a while :)!!
no bar available for residents after 11.30pm
Convenient location clean rooms friendly staff
Choice of breakfast was fairly primitive
From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we were impressed. The staff were, without exception, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The room was spotless, stocked with everything we needed and well maintained. And the food in the restaurant was superb. We had a lovely time and will recommend the hotel to all our friends.
Really enjoyed our stay - had a family room which was very generous. Kids slept on a pull out sofa. The food in the restaurant was very good (highly recommend the salt & pepper squid).
The food took its time to come which was a testament to its freshness but the kids would have appreciated it a bit earlier.
