Formerly a 16th-century traveler's inn, Red Lion Wendover is on the High Street and a 5-minute walk from Wendover Train Station.

Staff were very helpful and friendly. Very spacious rooms. Overall good value for money and in right location for son's graduation at raf halton
Everything really! Although the Inn is very old, the decoration and furnishings were classic and tasteful. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff who were always pleasant and cheerful. The food was of good quality and well presented. All in all - we had a relaxing two day break which we would happily do again.
Fabulous place to stay, great staff, lovely food and the room was the best we've stayed in for some time
This hotel was booked as a stopover from Plymouth to Darlington and we were expecting a Travellodge type hotel but we were pleasantly surprised. The building was outstanding and the room was enormous!!! The staff were very friendly and helpful and the restaurant served very good food.
The staff were welcoming and helpful. The room was well presented. The stay was very pleasant.
As with many old buildings the floors were very creaky.
Everything about this lovely Inn.
The layout and the decoration in the public areas was very nice indeed, plenty of room between restaurant tables, great waitresses.
A real shame that the Sunday evening's meal was poor. We use this chain a lot and usually the food is good. It woukld seem that the roast potatoes had been sat for many hours, since lunch, they were like rocks. The meal as a whole was not very nice. The bedroom (8)was nice and spacious, first impressions were that it was of good standard, however the mattress was awful, a roll to the middle all night job, awful, spoiled my sleep and saty. Please change immediately.
Large rooms, excellent food available in the evenings, good location, nice atmosphere, good cold breakfast selection.
Mattress extremely uncomfortable, no mattress or pillow protectors under sheets/covers, intermittent low signal wifi, lots of noise from kitchen fan until 10:45pm and on again at 7:30am (requested quiet room too!), not advised of cooked breakfast option -staff out of sight at breakfast.
Large rooms, clean, warm. Clean, modern bathroom with a fab shower. Lovely complimentary breakfast. Welcoming staff.
Extremely minor point but no conditioner in the bathroom. Wouldn't stop me from going back though.
Beautifully appointed rooms.
Waited for over 4 and half minutes before a member dealt with me; 2 members of staff walked past me without even acknowledging me.
Friendly bar-man and lady at breakfast Nice room and bar Handy location for visiting local area and easy to find hotel from Motorway Free wifi
Bed was really uncomfortable which effected sleep and as it was a hot week and only 1 small window had to have the big fan on all night Also being picky it could use some mould & mildew remover on the shower ceiling
Location and value for money for a family of four in one room.
Room was on the ground floor bordered on two sides by the beer garden. This meant when we were trying to go to sleep on the Friday night we could hear all the drunken banter directly outside our room - would not stay there with children again
good traditional inn
Everything was fantastic - from the clean, spacious bedroom, to the excellent food in the restaurant. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful - in fact I forgot my cuff links (we were attending a wedding) and the Manager lent me some of his! Now that is customer service! Will be returning - brilliant value for money.
Relaxing atmosphere, friendly staff, great outdoor seating, light and spacious restaurant. Food was handmade and delicious Room was modern, light and comfortable. Bathroom was modern and clean. Great choice at breakfast (which was free!) Good parking.
Room was good. Decoration good. Condition was good. Staff were very friendly & helpful. Room facilities were excellent.
No fried fish on a Friday Pastery on pie was not cooked. Soup was far too spicy and hot! The mattress was the worst we Have ever tried to sleep on, with the thinnest of padding between you and the springs, was most uncomfortable. The bathroom cleaning scored 6/10 . could be better.
Price, location for our purposes, décor, ambience, staff, parking, bedrooms and breakfast
We couldn't stay longer!
We wanted somewhere small and friendly with good accom and that's exactly what we got. So much we are returning on the 15th September 2014 and friends who stayed elsewhere have booked Innkeepers on our recommendation. All the staff were so helpful and went out of there way to be friendly - nothing was too much trouble. Its the tops with us. Thank you
Lack of internet most of the time! and signal
Everything exceot for the Bed,which could have been bigger and more comfortable.
Just the bed ,which could have been better!
The food was superb
ALL safe were exceptionally pleasant and helpful. Relaxing country pub atmosphere with Cask ale options. Much larger than average bedroom (11). Very good quality pub food. Lots of easy and available parking.
Evening food service a little slow, but that's being picky!
Staff were very helpful; spontaneously gave us info re fire escapes etc. The family room, including the en-suite was spacious, clean and comfortable.
Very pleasant and efficient staff.
Food was very average and disappointing. Our door handle broke on check-in and was still not repaired three days later. Toilet flush was restricted by a water saving device in the cistern which meant the toilet didn't flush properly.
Relaxed but friendly atmosphere, seating outside was very pleasant, and the evening meals were superb. Parking good, especially as I had a large vehicle.
Monday morning staff at breakfast were not as good, asking for room numbers, although the key was on the table, taking cooked breakfast orders from a group although not everyone had come down, it was prepaid, I am not sure what it would have been like after being left under the 'light'. Tables laid for dinner before all the breakfast people had been down, felt a bit uncomfortable.
Inn has lovely character and the restaurant served good food.
Bed was rather uncomfortable and we didn't have a bath, which was a bit annoying with young kids.
