Beautiful hotel, superb food in the restaurant and great value for money.
Not too big, everything to hand, excellent location for the whole of the area. Very reasonable price.
Nothing at all really.
Lovely old building. Great staff. Wonderful atmosphere. Ample parking. Staff were happy to light up a real log fire when we asked them. Burgers were possibly the best I've had this decade. Complimentary toiletries were good quality (definitely not the usual cheap detergent :-).
All the food was excellent - bar the scallops that were just about raw.
Character of the place, comfort, cleanliness, facilities, food.
Unusual to charge for WI-Fi
Lovely Hotel, nice room, pleasant location, good beer, port in a nice glass, real fires, friendly professional staff
Leaving so soon
Room was lovely, very spacious and comfortable. Restaurant was also really good although table service for drinks would have been helpful
Lovely room and food excellent. Staff really helpful and attentive.
room, shower staff food all of a great standard
Stayed to attend our sons graduation nearby. Lovely friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere and good food. Perfect thanks.
High quality country pub/hotel/restaurant with a wonderful ambiance and excellent staff.
Great hotel in a good location. Room a good size and cosy. Can highly recommend eating in the restaurant as the food is top class
The only negative I can give is the comfort of the bed. The mattress was extremely hard and very difficult to get comfy and get a good night's sleep on. Would suggest investing in some new softer mattresses.
The rooms were very nicely decorated and quite spacious. We had a lovely time. The staff were informative and friendly - nothing was too much trouble!
The breakfast was fine but there was a lack of plates/bowls available.
cold room, and cold bathroom, heating poor, uncomfortable bed not made despite 2 night stay,no toiletries just a shower get for 2 people for 2 nights. slow wi fi ,and staff knocking 3 times on the morning we were leaving before check out time, to clean the room!
Such a quaint little place.. Great service and very spacious rooms.. The creaking floorboards just add to the atmosphere and don't bother anyone.. breakfast was absolutely brilliant and the sausages are the best I've tasted in the UK.. The staff are really friendly and very helpful.. Can't wait for my next visit..
The food in the restaurant was superb and the restaurant service was excellent. The room was very clean, comfortable, spacious, and had plenty of character
Very noisy - single glazed window overlooking a noisy beer garden, and floorboards which creak whenever anyone in a neighbouring room moves. Hotel wouldn't arrange an early breakfast and I had to leave for a meeting so, although breakfast was paid for in the price, I went hungry.
Nice sized family room, cosy and very clean. Parking good. Good disabled access for my daughter who is in a wheelchair.
Would have preferred a cooked breakfast in the price but the continental breakfast was very good with good selection.
The whole ambience of the place. Lovely room. Restaurant very good. Good choices on the menu. Staff very helpful & friendly.
Very creaky floorboards in bedroom.
The decor and the food
The staff were friendly and attentive, The room was comfortable. View of garden and autumnal trees from window of our room was very pleasant.
Beer (Bombadier) was 'on the turn' - staff comment suggested it was at the end of the barrel. The spot light in the bathroom had fallen about 3 feet from ceiling and was dangling dangerously (live current). The shower curtain was too long and could cause a tripping accident when showering in the bath. Noisy plumbing,
comfortable room good surroundings.
squeaky floor boards all over. windows had gaps large draft in room. breakfast not as per description not Continental as said it was very poor. over priced.
We travelled from n.i. And was pleasantly surprised, lovely area and very handy to raf halton. Staff very helpful and friendly, only booked bed and breakfast and food good. Would recommend.
At first could not find the place as we were looking for the inn keepers lodge, so drove up and down the london road, then realised it was better known as The Bell. Not a big problem, but would help if it was just called The Bell only.
Clean room - clean linen
Creeking floor boards (bad) Cooked breakfast - average
Good size bed & shower room. Real ale and great food.
Small thing would have liked a bath.
Everything and the free full English was a bonus from a gentleman who got up late, so a big thanks to him :))
The wifi was a bit haphazard
Good staff great room
