Bed was uncomfortable, and room was hot but it is the warmest October that I have known
Nice clean hotel comfy beds would highly recommend nice food downstairs
Location, staff, ale and food
Fire door closure broken making to difficult to open & close. Tablet under the table. No handle on window. Ceiling in bathroom flaking. Minor TLC would convert from adequate to good.
Comfortable beds, cleanliness, friendly staff, good breakfast
Decor inside and out in desperate need, looking very tired, main front entrance used as a smoking area with cigarette stubs in what should have been lovely flower boxes, to make the entrance attractive and give a first good impression.
Everything except breakfast
Continental breakfast - first day of our stay they had muffins, brown & white bread & grapes, the rest of our stay they had no grapes & no muffins & only white bread, apart from this, breakfast was adequate
Very comfortable bedrooms but a bit dated. Good value for money.
Restaurant had poor choice of food but what we had was good. We booked twin rooms but the booking went wrong and we ended up with 2 doubles.
The wifi, staff nice enough but over worked and tired looking.
Having to make up the bed. Family room booked but only enough facility's for two ie drinks. Towels. Offered cooked breakfast but was shriveled and burnt looking.
Enjoyed every part of the stay we had an evening meal and breakfast at the hotel both were excellent , room was quite tiny for a family , but it was only a short stay so was perfect for our needs
everything was what we expected so they wasn't anything we didn't like
Bed/pillows awful Cold room - ancient windows Carvery meat was dry as a bone Like a rabbit warren Dripping toilet all night We asked if someone could bring a meal to our room - the answer was 'No' Just not very pleasant all round
Meal was good and parking facilities
Not enough staff, poor cleanliness, stuck in an attic room without notification, flush loo and listen to it howl for an hour ! room 217
Close to the NEC Large pub area to relax in.
For some reason all fish dishes were off the menu, so we're the spicy chicken wings so that left a hot beef sandwich. It was absolutely terrible and not fit for human consumption.
Comfortable clean rooms and good food.
Paper thin walls which meant you could hear everything going on in the next room. Selfish residents that only cared about themselves slamming their bedroom doors at all hours
I could not fault the staff and their service my only complaint was one of the beds in the family room very very uncomfortable but for what we payed excellent
The second bed in the family room that does need sorting out
The staff were amazing, rooms were great, food and bar great. WE will be back. Andy and his team were just fantastic. Hope to keep in touch with so9me of the staff. Thank you very much. Oh and breakfast was great too.
The room was a nice size. The bed was comfy enough for an overnight stay. Expected it to be noisy late into the night as it was part of a pub but it wasn't noisy from the pub itself. Nice to actually have a table to work from. I would recommend this place for people on a low budget but I wont stay again myself, I would rather pay a little more next time and go somewhere else.
My sat nav took me to the front of the pub. There was a sign saying parking at the rear; this happened to be inaccessible from the front. I had to follow my nose to find it. Disappointed not to have wi-fi. My room was near to the end of the corridor near a door that divided the areas (Fire door I assume) every time it was open & closed my door rattled to the point I kept thinking someone was trying to get in. I wasn't able to stop this happening as I had already made sure my door was locked. The breakfast was okay, nothing to write home about.
I left my car parked for three weeks at The Swan Hotel. It was periodically checked by the staff for me. They remembered me on my return which was really nice.
Arrived having driven from the south coast, waited at reception which is the bar. Given key, went to find room which was three flights of stairs no lift. The room were nothing like the photos in your advert. Will consult trading standards. we went back to reception to sort it out and was told that the manager was not available as he was on is break. No alternative room offered. I have paid for the room but did not stay as my wife has a heart condition and we did not want to catch anything from the very dated room and general accommodation. We looked at the restaurant and there was food all over the floor from the Sunday carvery. Veg was left open and the meat well cooked to say the least. The sad ting is this could be a nice place under the right management. The location is ideal but I could not recommend this to anyone. I am awaiting a credit from the hotel before deciding what further action to take.
Friendly staff, good sized room
Room was dirty and in need of decorating. Mould in the shower and the shower ceiling was too low, so low in fact you can feel the heat from the light bulb when in the shower and I am average height.
Good Pub Food Clean Rooms Friendly Staff
I liked the room, clean and functional. It was a bit of a climb, as in three flights of stairs but once at the room no problems. There was enough space at the rear for free parking. As an Inn it was well used by walk in traffic but was not over crowded. Easy to find in the high street. Should I visit the area in the future I would consider staying here as good value for money compared to the local hotels.
On arrival myself and brother went to check in, we met with the manager who welcomed us, once my booking name was presented he produced the bill for the room which had already been charged to my visa account ! this I was led to believe from your site would not happen until are departure? We then asked what time meals would be available too and were told that due to a busy carvery day that there was no food left !! but the high street offered other eating places. The time was 18.40 and a reasonable time for wanting a meal, not impressed.
the room as plenty big for us. atmosphere food was good staff were friendly
more staff was needed.
The room was comfortable and very clean. the staff were helpful. The breakfast that came with the room was great.
The food in the Swan was awful, They had a proper menu but everything other than the carvery wasn't available. The meat had been sitting under heaters all day and you could hardly eat it.
The Location is very good. Handy for the nec, but in a village. Price was very reasonable and the all you can eat cooked breakfast.
The funny smells on the stairs. The tired decor the WiFi that only shows the Crown website. The thin walls. The tiny room.
close to drayton manor
no lift, lots of stairs to get to rooms
Clean comfortable room. Great carvery style restaurant - excellent value. Good choice at breakfast with a lovely helpful lady on hand to help.
