comfort of the bed, size of the family room, peace and quiet on the third floor, friendly staff. There is a distance to walk (stairs and corridors) but we only had a small wheelie case each so it wasn't a problem.
discomfort of the sofa bed, lack of a bath (only a shower), having to walk through the bar to check in and to get to our room.
Location Breakfast Staff Service
Room was fine
Restaurant. First night bill wrong but undercharged which we informed the staff immediately. Second night overcharged by 3 carveries in the Toby Carvery. Third night didn't receive food ordered and when the chef was told he said he hadn't received order which waitress said she had put through. They then proceeded to have an argument about it in front of us (8 customers just trying to have a nice relaxing meal after a long day manning a stand at the NEC Classic Car Show). Then at 10.00 o'clock which was time that last orders were allowed till, the chef put on a very loud vac and proceeded to vac out carvery area which was very close to where we sat - totally unacceptable. Complained to manager who said he couldn't be everywhere at once! He did knock off a large proportion of the bill in the end after a bit of an argument with us and gave us comp.coffees but would have preferred to pay full price and have good service. Extremely poor. Will never go there again. Shame because we have used Innkeepers Lodge many times and they have been wonderful. It was the Toby Carvery that let everything down. Very poor indeed. hospitability of the staff and clean enviroment
no reception at all for us to use the wi fi
It's great to get a hotel that isn't full of boxes. This has character and history with one-of -a- kind spacious, warm and cosy rooms. Breakfast is good and the carvery is great value. Would use this chain more often if there were more in the UK.
Family room could use a proper second double bed instead of sofa pull out with lumpy springs. This also prevents using the sofa to relax and watch TV. Duvets need to be larger to cover up to neck.
Free WiFi with no dropouts, staff very good
The room was perfect, very clean, bed comfy. The staff were excellent, very helpful. Would I recommend this place. YES I would. We will be back again as we have relatives in the area. Thank you again
There was nothing that we didn't like
Everything - Room Comfort, Room Décor, Friendly Staff, Convenient Location and... TOBY CARVERY
That we only stayed for four days and wish we could have stayed longer.
Great staff Good food
Paid for room and breakfast and was offered continental not what I paid for. Light bulbs not working in the room either. Wifi very slow.
Has everything you need, nice food and good bar down stairs, rooms not cramped for a family of 4.
Heater does not warm the room.
Can't think of anything
We stayed during helloween and loved every second of it. Our son was thrilled. The restaurant is handy and very reasonable priced and the room spacey and comfy for three. Next time in birmingham we will chose them again. Thx.
Carvery at toby excellent.
Bed uncomfortable. Very noisy during the night.
Very convenient to venue I was going to. Excellent evening meal available on site and adequate morning continental breakfast included. Welcoming staff and large clean room. Little more could be expect at this price.
Great food and friendly staff . All together great stay
Superbly located for our overnight stay following day at Cadbury World. Spacious room for family big comfy beds, modern clean bathroom. Very quiet considering it's on a busy road. Staff were helpful with our requests for more pillows & towels. Breakfast was very nice too. All in all would stay here again & would recommend it to friends.
No negatives to report.
the staff were very helpful and friendly food was excellent great value for money, and as we were a large party with different tastes everyone was happy
could do with lift or help with luggage difficult when elderly people
Clean room Quiet Facilities of the restaurant Breakfast Staff
Cleanliness ...every day the room was cleaned perfectly !
All good ....
Everything!!! the staff, Joan, Kirsten, Rebecca, Jason and others who made the stay a home from home. Excellent carvery and breakfasts, nice large room. Our second stay of this holiday, hopefully it will not be our last!
Bed could have been firmer.
Thanks to Joan, Marie, Jason and all the other staff who made our stay really pleasant. Even though we arrived 2 hours early our room was ready and we could check in, which was a breeze thanks to Jason. Joan and her staff made every breakfast delicious, and the carvery is guaranteed to help you put on pounds! Five stars all round! We were returning customers, and we will return again.
Nothing really, possibly a firmer bed.
The location was good. Very easy to find, with lot of shops near by.
The staff were disinterested. The room did not look like the cosy photo on the website. The continental breakfast had a limited selection. The lighting in the room needs to be better.
Room was clean & comfortable, just required for a couple of nights but fitted the purpose very nicely. Continental breakfast very adequate.
Quiet at night. Fast wifi.
Smell of smoke in bedroom. Poor choice continental breakfast.
