Shower was blocked so filled with water and almost overflowed. Urinal in restaurant was flooded due to leaking down pipes from the cistern. Due to the Mold and limescale stains it appeared to have been like this some time. Did not know if I was standing in water or other peoples urine. Could easily have been rectified by tightening the joints on the down pipes. This situation in my opinion should be rectified immediately as even as there was a warning sign the fact that it appeared to have been like this some time without being rectified would still make the restaurant liable in the case of an accident.
As a regular customer, I appreciate the generally helpful and pleasant service provided by the different teams of staff. The quality of the meals is also consistently very good.
Staff were very helpful & friendly. We all had a lovely meal in the pub. Would use again.
Bathroom was a bit dated
Very well run and good value compact and clean
We were above the kitchen and the fan was very noisy luckily it was turned off at 10pm
Very nice looking inn and rooms with everything you need. The inn keepers/employees were very friendly and helpful. Standard breakfast was really good. Everything was very clean and tidy. The inn is situated in a quiet area and you can reach Canterbury city center either by bus in two minutes or take a nice walk for 15-20 minutes.
Doublebeds have just one blanket which can be a bit troublesome and too small if you are used to having your own blanket. The matress was a tiny bit too hard and some springs might poke you.
Close to everything, walking distance from town center, bus transport if needed, close to the main roads and not far from Dover if coming from abroad. Friendly professional reception, clean & tidy room with character. Nice pub with food if not wanting to go in to town for meals.
Noise from the road can be irritating for some if staying in a front room, also quite warm in the afternoon, no fan or possibility to get a draught through the room.
Easy access to town and A2 Staff very helpful
Road noise but did quieten down at night. Didn't cause a huge problem No toilet brush in bathroom.
We had a good evening meal. Room was of a good size.
It was a hot evening, but it would have been nice to be able to open the windows a bit more. Breakfast was very basic - could have used a better quality bread - didn't compare to the quality of our evening meal the night before.
Warmth & friendliness of the staff and always there to meet our needs and dinner was excellent
Good choice of menu - liked the ideas of specials. Staff friendly.
Seemed under staffed on occasion and had very long wait on first night without any explanation forthcoming. Breakfast a bit limited even though we knew it was "continental". Would have liked more choice.
Lovely place to stay, just outside town... and the food was excellent... It was "Pie night" so that's what we ordered, and we weren't disappointed!...
No air conditioning in the rooms, and it was extremely warm, and uncomfortable overnight!... (It had been a very hot day though, so this wasn't ideal). The room also has safety devices on the windows so they could not be opened fully, and the staff did not have, nor were allowed to issue, the keys to unlock them!..
Location, building,weather !
No baths only showers, no fans available as very hot making sleeping uncomfortable .
Hotel not overcrowded, good service, friendly staff.
only things not liked were down to our own personal preference eg pillows and could have had a sheet on the bed not just a duvet as it was hot during our stay.
Very clean beds and comfy . Good value for family stay. Good location.
Nice room in an old classy house. beautiful meal in the yard. perfect location near the city bus station.
It was ideal for my business trip to Canterbury, good location.
Do not like to wipe the cutlery clean at dinner and breakfast! Breakfast was poor and very limited. Could hear the beer cellar cooling fans all night, so not a very good night sleep.
Food in bar
No available breakfast at 6.45am
Room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. Staff polite and helpful.
No airconditioning ( a very hot weekend) so noisy from traffic if window left open in bedroom. Decor throughout pub looked tired.
Room good size and comfy bed food well priced and variety in bar menu.
Road noise with window open because Very hot night and no air con . Could do with a fan. Otherwise good overnight stop for ferry or visit Canterbury
Staff freindly & helpful.
Continental Breakfast, (no meats or cheeses). Rooms were way too hot & 1 of the rooms, the windows did not open.
Clean comfortable rooms and good value for money.
We had two twin rooms one of which was above kitchen with noisy extractor fan noise in room til around 11pm. Staff explained this when showing us to room and ordinarily wouldn't have been a problem but we had early start next day so early night would have been welcome
Its location in terms of proximity to Canterbury centre.
As a dining experience; although the menu was comprehensive enough to cater for most tastes and the quantity more than sufficient, I would say that more imagination had been used in the foods description than in its actual preparation and quality, which could be best described as average. Continental breakfast, in an English B&B, you're having a laugh!
the location was quite good near park and ride
Really rude staff, they put our credit card through for meals and then couldn't provide itemized receipts. Our room was over the dustbins , we had to keep our windows open because of the heat and lots of flies kept coming into the room. the corridor stank of paint. we would never stay again
Rooms very clean & well equiped. Staff friendly.
