The place is lovely
The food was poor and the radiator in the room was stuck on
Service, cleanliness , comfort.the surrounds.
Having to leave.
The location is wonderful set right in the village of Castleton. Food was lovely and the drinks after a long walk round the Peaks next to an open fire in the bar were outstanding. Could of sat there all afternoon. Loved it.
Location was great, staff were really nice and helpful, room was lovely very comforftable and spacious.Overall a lovely stay and would highly recommend it.
Only one thing, a cooked breakfast option would have been great, especially being located in a walking area.
The hotel was lovely, the staff were very good and extremely helpful. The food in the restaurant was outstanding.
We stayed in room number 14 which was lovely but needed a very good clean as it was extremely dusty. I have to say though that the bed and bedding were spotless.
The was good, solid value. There was no real bad experience, but you wouldn't say anything was absolutely outstanding. Would definitely go back.
Car park is small and parking around the hotel is difficult if the town is busy, but it's Castleton. You shouldn't expect anything else.
Fantastic location, lovely accommodation & staff very helpful
They had a full menu for food in the rooms, we booked to dine however we was not told at that time there was a limited menu as I booked this while at the bar I would have liked to have been informed at the time of booking the menu was still lovely however it was very ltd
Good location Rooms ok
Restaurant was very very poor. Poor standard of food. Incorrect drinks orders. Food received not as described on the menu. Very slow service.
We had a lovely overnight stay at the hotel. Next time we will make it a few days to enjoy surrounding countryside.
The position of this hotel is excellent, good choice of menu, comfortable rooms
Friendliness of staff Relaxing and informal atmosphere.
Limited car parking
Stayed over Xmas the room was in the roof so had lovely old beams. Great view of mam tor from bedroom window. Spacious room with lovely bathroom. Brilliant breakfast and friendly helpful staff.
The bar area is not big enough if you just want to enjoy a drink.
The food was great, the room was absolutely gorgeous and the staff were very friendly
Would be nice to have somewhere to sit with a drink if not eating but wasn't a problem
Bathroom and shower!
The stunning location and beautiful interior.I left my scarf and they very kindly posted it
Constant mistakes with meal tho was very nice
Very friendly service, bedrooms were beautifully decorated with all the facilities needed. The restaurant had a broad menu and the food was cooked superbly. Staff were excellent! Lovely, comfortable interiors. I will definitely return to this hotel.
The staff couldn't do enough to make our stay comfortable. We had dinner as well and couldn't fault the food or service.
lovely fireplaces in lounges, Comfortable room, plenty of hot water.
Would have liked better snack menu, ie ordinary sandwiches, plough mans, for lunches. Bar prices rather high. Mediocre evening meal menus.
Liked the Innkeepers lodge (came here a few years ago) and the friendliness was still there, nice staff, good food, and a very comfortable room to settle into. Nice to wander round the village and just unwind, We will definately return.
Nothing to complain about
location. food, comfort, warm and friendly.
only negative comment would be evening meal could have been a little warmer.
Nice rooms in main building Food is good Nice selection of beers
WiFi is a bit slow The rooms in the annex aren't quite up to the same standard as the rooms in the main building
clean and spacious room, lovely large bathroom and bath
no wifi in our room
Lovely room, good breakfast
Staff - very noisy in the corridors outside the bedroom, service in the bar/restaurant area very slow and inattentive, staff (including the manager) were rolling their cigarettes on the bar so they could go for a 'fag break' rather than looking after their customers
poor cleanliness, stains on the walls, noisy room with a family upstairs which led to a poor nights sleep.
