The location and wooden beams in room.
Very noisy party in bar. Beds really uncomfortable didnt get a good sleep. When we checked out there was no please or thank you and we were not asked if we had a good stay...nothing...poor service.
Good food, wine and real ale. Cosy bar, pleasant staff. Room was clean.
sorry but the bed was too soft.
Lovely pub, and the room was nice.
Several menu options were unavailable. I selected fish cakes which arrived covered in sauce and were rock hard on the edges like they had been cooked and reheated. The two mussels served with them were cold and had clearly just been defrosted. I choose a cheese board rather than pudding. I was presented with a tiny sliver of Silton and two tiny crumbled pieces that I wouldn't have given to the dog. The cheddar was not freshly cut and was clearly the corner piece left over from grating....it still had the grating marks on it. Room was comfortable and the bed was fine but the pillows were awful. Two were like boards and the others were so lumpy it was impossible to get comfortable to sleep. Very disappointed!
The Kestrel was a great place to stay, really convenient for the park and ride to the fair. Food was excellent (two breakfasts and two evening meals) and room was spacious and well appointed, good hot shower. Would highly recommend a stay.
Characterful place to stay with pleasant staff.relaxing breakfast with newspapers.
Room was very small and we had trouble upon arrival trying to get around our bags and shopping as there was no floor left!
kind and pleasant staff good value for money food and warm fire and warm clean rooms
doors that slam to
Check-in was friendly and welcoming. Our room was very comfortable and in good order. The dinner was excellent. The fish was the biggest I have ever had!!! We gave our server a 15% tip because he was excellent but he tried to refuse it as too much!!
No adverse comments
The noise of hammers and drills at 3am which obviously woke me up. They should NOT be letting rooms when this type of work is being carried out at this hour of the day. Will I be back?? NO!!!
Good food in pub/restaurant Great location
Atmosphere Food Room breakfast
squeaky floorboards (in an old farm building) so people walking to their rooms woke me up
Great food, nice room. It had a big private parking.
Too much noise from downstairs and other guests going to and from their rooms.
Food was not that good .Fish was slimy and not very good quality.Starters was a watery prawn cocktail with a whole lettuce leaf stuck in it.No lemon or brown bread.Breakfast was good selection.
price location vintage inn on site
breakfast choice limited staff hovering around us during breakfast!
Most of the staff were helpful and friendly, the room was comfortable. Bed, not so much.....
We were unable to book in 30 mins early or in fact leave our bags anywhere, which ruined our plans.
A place with a lot of character. Very cosy room.
Cooked breakfast not included.
The room was lovely staff friendly breakfast was nice and location perfect for trip into harrogate
I had no dislikes my daughter didn't like the fact you have to pay for wifi but didn't bother me
Location , food alcohol and room was lovely
location was ideal for us, staff were excellent,
continental breakfast was lacking, bread, croissants, oh and a bowl of tinned friut . do not make a continental breakfast
the facilities at this hotel are very good, the rooms are very clean and amenities supplied are good
i found eating in the restaurant almost unbearable because it was so hot. we ate there on the first night and would have eaten there again but it was just too hot. this was also the case at breakfast. the obvious thing was everyone was complaining about the heat, even all the windows in the guests rooms were open as much as you could open them. surely this is just a waste of money. we have stayed here for the past three years for the same event and i have seen the restaurant decline in numbers. although the food is nice i thought it was a little over priced.
The friendly staff, great restaurant, wonderful location
Had a good meal in the restaurant with the family. Nice bar area and atmosphere in the restaurant. First impressions of the room were good. Comfortable, well appointed, good bathroom.
Had little sleep due to very creaky floorboards. (Room 5). Any time someone walked past the room in the corridor it sounded like they were in our room. Next door, we could clearly hear everything from conversation to the hair dryer!
The food was excellent and the room was very cozy
A lot of noise from elsewhere in the property could still be heard inside the room. Not a problem for me since I'm used to it (that's what earplugs are for!) however I imagine others may find it a problem.
The staff were very friendly. The room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was continental but there was loads of choice and the evening meals were very good. It was a great place to stay for a few days visit to explore the area.
