Nice well appointed room. Open fires in all public areas.
Good stay, highly recommend
all of it
The steak pie would have been better with more meat and fewer carrots.
Staff couldn't do enough to help us with little one despite being crazy busy! Food lovely rooms great all in all we had a fab stay:-)
When we walked in, we had to check in at the bar which took 20 minutes as the manager was the only person who could check us in but he seemed to have disappeared. It was not ideal to be surrounded by a lot of rowdy drunk people whilst trying to check in with all of our luggage. Once we finally checked in we then had to walk back through the pub to get to the stairs to our room which also appeared to be in the same place as the toilets which those from the pub used. When we finally managed to get into out room it was freezing! This was due to the windows not fitting the frames and there were big gaps! I barely got any sleep as it was so cold. We were going to ring reception but as that was the bar full of rowdy drunks we decided to have a sleepless night and to just not return! We were very disappointed as it was our anniversary!
expensive drinks being woken by fire alarm at 06:00
Excellent parking, 5 mins from town centre, friendly staff, lovely character property and very modern and clean room at a brilliant price not to mention a new modern bathroom. I have always been a bit sceptical of bed and breakfast but this establishment has completely changed my mind. Would recommend to anyone. Food excellent as was service
Walls of room very very thin. We could hear every word of next doors conversation which is a little off putting and ruins privacy, restaurant a tad pricey
Good location for Harrogate and surrounding area. Lovely room
Very hot in the rooms and no normal tea bags or milk but when discussed with Manager he did make me a lovely pot of tea.
Public areas very comfortable. Good parking. Room heating - good ole radiators, easy to operate and no noise.
The shower room facilities - no hand shower for women, slippery shower floor, basin - scalding hot water - no mixer tap, plug had no chain, extractor fan ran too long and too loud... The restaurant staff are not trained, but, hey, are they ever?! The housekeeping staff, however, are first-rate.
The room was excellent.
Cooked Breakfast was not included in our £90 a night stay, which was dissapointing.
Amazing building, beautifully maintained.comfortable room.delicious food and great hosts.
Location was good , very quiet on a night
Spacious room, very comfortable, fabulous shower, varied menu in The Pine Marten restaurant.
Mirrors too high up the wall in the bedroom. Bar drinks were expensive. We were unable to have a room account as we were informed that the hotel and restaurant are 2 separate companies!
Friendly staff Excellent food and wine Relaxed atmosphere
having to check out and come back home!
The overall ambience was relaxing and the food was top notch; the vegetarian options were exellent. The garden was pleasant and the room facilities were good.
The staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful Thank you
Evening dinner very good, we all enjoyed the meal, service was good and staff informative about the menu. Comfortable seating throughout the lounge/ bar areas.
Day Staff handover / shift finish, the staff seated at large table near lounge area and the language/ swearing was terrible considering they should be representing the company and respecting the guests seated near by, very disappointed with this poor performance, especially as my wife was seated with me, and a group of mature ladies where present.
The decor of the rooms and public areas is very tasteful and overall very clean.
Absence of dedicated check in area. This is done at one end of the bar. Not a huge problem but something that could be looked at.
Rooms very spacious Good value for money
Bar food/Restaurant food a bit pricey.
Staff were very friendly and helpful
We had 2 double rooms. One room was good but the other room was very small. I kept hitting my head on the beams that I had to keep ducking around. The bathroom was also small and the shower walls were covered in black mould.
We liked the Staff as they were very good at there Job,and also Very Helpfull.Girl called Lisa was Really Helpful and Cheery what helps when you are talking to staff.
We were in room at front and banging of front door was Terrible. It just banged every time people went in or out.we had our Granddaughter and she could get to sleep very easy, mind that also same with myself and Wife.A Stronger Spring needed. We had Continental Breakfast but thought you usually got some sort of meat with it?Thanking you,George B LAMONT.
Loved the look of the place inside....modern and well done up in an old building. Gorgeous gardens. Lisa, the chambermaid is a hard worker and was actually running the restaurant all day due to staff shortages, she did a great job! Manager helped me up the stairs with my bags and organised a travel cot for me as I was on my own with my toddler.
Bar/restaurant staff were pretty poor. Seemed uninterested and unmotivated.
